  1. I think that if we were all perfect we would never have needed this to begin with. Some doctors realize that and route for you when you have success. Mine is one of them
  2. Well said. If we could all follow doctor ordered diets to the t we wouldn't need this operation. I can't stand when posters say if you can't follow the pre op you aren't ready. On the morning I got sleeved 4-23. My doctor goes with a big smile - how many times did you cheat. I couldn't lie and told him I had 3 pcs of pizza 3 days before and started apologizing and promised how sorry I was. He goes...and I quote. "Andrea, I've been doing this for a long time and have yet to meet a patient that didn't cheat". I was in years and he goes. " you lost 5.5 lbs. and then goes "are you ready"? When I said yes he high fives me. My point is. Do not best your self up! These cravings will subside when you get sleeved. Not totally but you will be able to control them.
  3. I know several of you are being sleeved today. Just want to wish you all the awesomeness this operation has to offer. Prayers to you all for a painless easy recovery
  4. I swallow my pills just fine. I thing everyone is different and there is no status quo. My cymbalta only comes in capsule form and there was no was I was giving it up right now and going through the withdrawals. It's not recommended to empty the capsule either. So after asking on these boards and getting answers from yes to no I tried it and it went down fine. Do they recommend it? Nope. If it got stuck I'd figure something else out but to date it's been fine - sleeved 4/23
  5. I don't know about you guys but I couldn't wear a robe because of my IV. I was happy for the sweats I brought so I didn't flash anyone walking the halls lol. That's all I used the time I was there
  6. I was sleeved on 4-23. The nurse at the hospital said it could happen from the gad
  7. I have that pain too. Left shoulder pain bi I don't have a gall bladder. Lol. Hurts every day. I go for my follow up on Thursday. Will see what my awesome doc says
  8. Amen sister. I hate the word tool too. It's not a tool. It's removal of most of your stomach!
  9. Good luck to all of you!! I know you will do great. These feelings are very. Normal. I was sleeved 4-23. I was fine until I got to the pre op room and saw the nurses waiting for me. Tears started flowing. The said to me - you are in good hands and keep your eye on the prize - They were so right. 20 lbs down since the pre op diet. I fit in a pair if jeans yesterday that I haven't been able to fit into for 6 years. I won't lie and tell you it's easy. The first week after surgery was a roller coaster. Your emotions will go from - I miss food to what have I done. Just remember those feelings will pass within a day or two. Prayers to all of you!!!!!
  10. Thanks rebeca. Ill have to try it. Going try and choke down a protein drink with water. Ugh
  11. Thanks. I go Thursday. I'm going to ask as well
  12. Hi. Sleeved 4-23. I've never had an issue with dairy. For the last 2 days I've been throwing up my Atkins shakes or anything with dairy in it. Has anyone experienced this? So nauseous right now.
  13. My whole family know but at work I only tod a few people I am close to. Then I thought this is crazy. I'm not ashamed that I needed help. I knew there would be questions when I returned to work so I've been very open about what I was doing and why. Most at work were supportive but a few gave me that stopping eating and exercise attitude. I could care less. I go back to work next Friday and can't wait to show offyuch thinner self!
  14. I too hovered between 33 and 36 bmi for 3 years. When I decided to def do this I gained the weight to remain at a 35 min. I have the comorbies of apnea etc. I was happy I did it...sleeved 4/23 and couldn't be happier. I've struggled since I was a kid (45 yrs old now). It's not for everyone and a personal decision and one you will make if/when you ate ready
  15. When I went in for surgery. Any surgery. The first thing they do is a preg test. Even though I had my tubes tied they said its standard procedure. I'm sure they checked
  16. I dreamt of McDonald's. lolololol. So I woke up and had jello. I put a Dan of sugar free whip cream on it and it has made all the difference in the world.
  17. Totally not true. It depends on the doctor. My doctor knew I smoked. I cut way back and he was fine with it. I had no issues
  18. It was the protein. Once I got the protein in I was much better thanks everyone
  19. Very normal. Get used to it lol
  20. Started drinking coffee 3 days ago. I'd stay away from baths and swimming as your incisions are still healing
  21. Started driving yesterday as I'm off pain meds. Also did 1/2 mile on the treadmill. I've been doing laundry. Cleaning etc. just listen to your body. If u do too much it will tell you. I was sleeved 23rd
