  1. Oh no! Im not the original poster I just wanted to see what the nutritional facts were... I did get it posted. I saved it under my meals, not receipes.... but anyway its up there... I hope the original poster does not mind! I named it Spinach Receipe.
  2. Im VERY new to MFP... I didn't know you could make it public, tell me how and I will gladly do it.
  3. I dont know if you are actually in Raleigh or possibly looking for a OB in a better area than where you are (Thats what I did). I went to Greenville and found the BEST OBGYN and MidWife there. Carolina Womans Physicians in Greenville. I drove an hour 1 way there each appointment, and dont regret a SINGLE minute of it! They didnt have much experience with banded patients, but we all learned a lot together.
  4. I just weaned my little one at 6 months old. She is 7.5 months now. I got a small fill about 2 months post partum. I was still able to eat plenty to maintain a healthy milk supply (I was actually an over producer- I made about 50-60 oz a day-I Exclusively pumped because she would not latch). I got a second small fill while I was still nursing. In the end I was at about 5.75cc right before I weaned (I knew I was weaning before I got to the 5.75), but I THINK I was at about 4.5 before that last fill. Start small. Explain to your provider that you want SOME restriction, but NEED to be able to eat 1600 calories to maintain a good supply. You want this restriction so you dont feel like you are starving between meals, but can still eat a well balanced diet. You are not the only one going through this. I agree with the previous poster. I sounds as if you were maybe too full before. You should still be able to eat.... I am not an expert either, but I have been there, recently. I know how you feel!
  5. I did until I finally got ALL the fluid out at around 20 weeks... Then It was a FREE FOR ALL... Unfortunately now it looks like I have slipped (most likely from the massive vommiting even after the removal of fluid because of kidney failure).... I hope you called your doc and got this sorted out!
  6. Oh, I fogot Calories..... 246
  7. All except the spinach sounds good- I can do spinach, just never blended it with fruit.... Im going to give it a shot though! I entered all the info into MFP and got the following nutritional facts: Fat 1g Sodium 143mg Potassium 890mg Carbs 53g (ouch) Sugars 30g Fiber 11g Protein 17g
  8. Wow, when you said tuna, I just KNEW you were gonna say it was stuck! But seriously, its ok! if you slipped you know know it... wouldnt be able to hold anything down! 2 days post op I wanted some Nes Quick strawberry Milk.... So.... afterwards, I am sitting on the side of the bath tub (which is right next to the toilet) Dry heaving. Mind you, I was only 2 day out, so the heaving it self about KILLED ME. My prayer went something like this "Please God, I dont want to throw up! It will hurt SOOO bad. Please dont make me throw up, I swear, I will not drink anything but Water until I have been given the ok" I laugh at it now, but I was in tears at the time. Point is, we all make mistakes. We have to learn from them.
  9. Im so sorry you had to go through that (Its what I was going through before the Fluid was removed from my band), but at the same time you have given me hope! Since having the fluid removed I have not had ANY trouble eating/drinking. I wish you the best of luck! I cant imagine what it feels like.
  10. Were you still having problems even after you had no fluid in your band?
  11. Im sorry I have no advise for you except to agree with what the previous posters have said. I have a question for you though. You said that was your second one? Did your surgeon remove the first one and replace it in the same surgery? I have a possible slippage (Upper GI on Tuesday to confirm), and I did not even think about the option of not having my band!! Im a bit scared now. I so sorry for your loss! I can not imagine. I have been unfilled for almost a week now and feel like im going to go insane!
  12. YAY! Happy to hear all is well!
  13. Typically eggs are my breakfast of choice. This AM I was running late for work, grabbed a bowl, the packets of oatmeal and ran out the door! Didnt heat it up until I got to work. I am exersizing at least 4 time a week, typically 5-6 times. I walk/jog/run... (Im a runner wanna be, but I will get there eventually). But the heat is extreme here in Eastern NC, so I dont get out as much as I would like-I cant take my 7 month old out for that long in this heat. Before the unfill, I didn't HAVE to eat at all. I could take a sip of Water and was ok... but I knew that this was not ok. If I ate or drank anything more than a tiny sip, I threw it up Anyway, thanks for the input, I am hoping my pouch was just swollen and irritated... The upper GI will tell on Tuesday....HERES TO HOPING!!!
  14. Im sorry I have no idea how that posted 3 times AND I was not done.... lunch I ate a HUGE salad with light dressing... that was an hour ago, and my stomach is growling, and a VERY hungry feeling (that I am very much NOT used to).... And advice?
  15. Hi everyone! I have recently been unfilled due to a possible slip. I am eating 5 small meals in attempt to not back track during this time of "unfill" After I eat, with in an hour, I am SO hungry. I am eating high Protein, but it is just not working. I feel like if I just eat a huge sandwich I would feel so much better. I am taking in about 1300 calories. 1. Im curious to know how many calories you all take in (I didnt track when I had my fluid). I didnt know about this board so that is a question I have always had.... 2. Any suggestions to cure my hunger? For instance today for Breakfast I had some instant oat meal (not alot of protein there), snack I at turkey and cheese "roll ups',

  18. I am glad you called! I am going through the exact same thing! It sux! Im 2.5 years out and doc just took ALL my fluid. He believes I have a slip. I will have an upper GI on Tuesday, to confirm (hopefully deny) this. You did the right thing by calling your doc... I waited for 2 months... I REFUSED to get an unfill, but then I passed out. Dehydration. I was stupid for not calling sooner! Lets us know what your doc says!
  19. I am currently dealing with a possible slip. Everything (water included) came back on me. At night I could hold down something, but anything before 6-7PM was NOT staying. I finally went in on Monday to see the surgeon, and he belives that my band has slipped. I have an upper GI to confirm (I hope it will show that it has not) this. Until then I have had ALL my fluid removed. So I would say if you are able to keep the food/water down you are most likely ok... However if you have any concerns, please call your surgeon.
  20. I figure this is early, but I am sure that I will forget on Monday! Its only the Emails from other that check in that remind me to weigh in! So I will claim that Im the first! 21. Weighing in at 243 (I think thats where I was last week).... I was completely UNFILLED due to a possible slippage last week, so I guess I am ok with this.... I hope it wasnt a slippage, and I will begin getting refilled NEXT Friday....
  22. Checking in today. 242 Lbs, So that is down 1lb.... not happy with it, but better than up a lb, I recon!
  23. The only reason to be cautious while BF after a fill would be the lack of nutrients to keep up a good milk supply. My OB said that 1800 calories is how much is need to maintain a supply. If your supply is meeting the needs of your baby, I would not-or at least be very cautious- dropping below this caloric intake. I just quit BFing last month so that I could begin losing this weight. many people say that BFing helps them lose weight... this was NOT the case for me! Also, My baby never latched, I pumped milk and fed it to her by way of bottle. Hope that helps!
