  1. Mrs. Robinson,

I'm fine. Just jumping thru the hoops of UHC. I hope to have my surgery in December. I will complete everything on December 7th. Yes I did the 6 mo supervised diet, the 6 mo support groups, and much more. It has been a long haul... Just hoping they will approve my surgery..

    Are you Hungry?

I went to a support group today and sat next to someone who was a previous lap bander. It was removed due to some problems she was having. She is now considering the sleeve. She said she was hungry all the time with the band. Has anyone else had this problem. I am suppose to have band surgery in December and now I am worried about being hungry all the time. Tell me about your band experience.

How do you deal with negative people?

Just think how good it is going to feel when you get to your target weight and are looking sexy/hot and wearing super cute clothes... They are going to be green with envy. You will most likely see another one going to get banded.. No worries...

Wow, Inspiring. I really enjoyed this post and it gave me renewed hope. I have been a yo yo dieter my hole life and I hope to get my band late December. I have read everything I can get my hands on and I pray I am one of the lucky ones who will not have any trouble with the band, but I will cross that bridge when I get there. Keep up the good work and thanks again for the words of encourgement and acceptance.

    Hunger Issues

You are so right. I just guess I was having a case of the nerves. Believe me, God has his hand in it because I am barely getting it done in time for my insurance to cover it. Keep me in your prayers. [ I would say be careful about buying into everything you hear. Trust your doc and his nurses. Ask lots of questions and think positive!! God wants all of us to be happy, he gave us a brain and we need to use it as much as possible! It is easy to feel fear when someone else has had trouble. Trust those you know you can trust ( and pray for those who need the help).

    Hunger Issues

Thank you so much for answering my post Mullee. I feel so much better about it now. I will be so glad when December gets here so I can proceed with the rest of my life. I have been banded just under ten months, and I have only felt hunger maybe half a dozen times in that ten months. With proper restriction you should not feel hungry all the time. For some people it takes awhile to get to that restriction and it can be difficult for them. I love my band and have had no issues or complications. Good luck to you with whatever you choose

Thank you so much for your help. I have decided on the band. I will just have to depend on people like you to help me along. It is a confort knowing others have been through it.

    UHC BAILS

Just got a call from my Doctor stating that they United Healthcare has informed them that they are not picking up bariatric surgery as of 2012. If you do not have your surgery buy 12/31/11, they will not cover your surgery. They say that they are doing this to cut back cost. I can't belive they are doing this. I am soooo disappointed... I can't afford a 12000.00 surgery. Anyone else know anything yet?

Not according to them. I am so disappointed...
  21. Why did you have it removed, if you don't mind me asking..

  22. I would go by what my doctor tells me. Some people just have nothing better to do but make someone else feel bad. Good luck..
