  1. Someone on this forum said something like "so what if I took the easy way out? I tried the hard way and it didn't work". I wish I knew who it was to give her credit. I thought it was brilliant. Something to think about if your subconscious betrays you again. Also, stop hemming & hawing!
  2. Wow! Beautiful! I have goosebumps. It was nice seeing a tad of San Fran. I used to live in Redwood Shores (now in Florida). Congratulations!
  3. Even though I hardly ever watch youtube, a month or two ago I came across a video of you dancing to Bono when you reached Onederland. I wept like a baby. I am glad I saw this post. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!
  4. No carbonation, but a good alternative to plain Water. (Can be done with oranges, basil & other "flavors".) Cucumber Water Recipe In order for the cucumber to fully release its juice, you need to prepare it the day before. Ingredients: 1 cucumber, sliced and unpeeled 1 1/2 to 2 liters of water 3 mint sprigs Half a lemon, sliced and unpeeled In a pitcher, mix the water, cucumber, 3 mint sprigs and lemon. Let it rest on the fridge for 24 hours. If you prepare the water at the last minute, cut the first cucumber in three or four pieces. Then, squeeze the cucumber pieces to release all the juice. Before serving remove the cucumber slices used to flavor the water. Then stir with a wooden spoon, add some ice cubes,
  5. :yesnod: Nice to meet you! Congratulations!!!
  6. Welcome! I have not seen this. Are you sure these aren't people that just had surgery?
  7. I second that. Eddie thanks to you too.
  8. I want to suggest that you exercise most mornings, but I doubt any of these "tips" will help you, since what you are suffering seems severe. Have you tried searching for a sleep specialist? Hopefully you have insurance. WebMD talks about the "American Board of Sleep Medicine" and the "American Academy of Sleep Medicine" as places to find these professionals.
  9. Eddie, I sent you a PM a few minutes ago. Thanks for responding!
  10. Shocked to hear from you so soon & glad you are doing good!
  11. Hello Floridians! Another one from Jacksonville here! I am starting the process and estimate my surgery will be in November or December. I am leaning towards Dr. Marema in St. Augustine. Gatorman what was your experience like with Dr. Deperi & Eddie what is Dr. Webb like? (We are lucky to have these 3 surgeons of excellence in our area.) Best wishes to all!
  12. :dance::dance: Pictures please! :dance::dance:
  13. Best wishes!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. It has been wonderful reading this thread! I loved Texs' honesty and how everyone supported him. This is unbelievably helpful. Thanks!
  15. Not far at all. I'm in that area all the time. You are ahead of me. I saw my PCP for the first time yesterday. Let's keep in touch!
  16. I noticed we are in the same city. Who will be your surgeon? I am leaning towards Dr. Marema in St. Augustine.
  17. I hope you are right. I was asked to go to 1 appointment with a NUT, 3 with my PCP and a pysch clearance. No chats with a diet counselor or the like. Ugh! It's worrisome.
  18. I forgot to mention my surgeon did ask for a letter of medical necessity even though it is not mentioned on the bulletin I read. I was "only" asked for 2009 & 2010 AND I was told I could do the 3 month plan with my PCP, not with a NUT, as the bulletin mentions. hmmm I just contacted my insurance coordinator, lets see what she says.
  19. I also have Aetna (PPO) and the bulletin I read doesn't mention it either. I don't know if bulletins change depending on the plan. Just curious, did you do the 3 month diet plan with your PCP? Best wishes! Keep us updated.
  20. Thanks for posting. I love your attitude.
