How Many Carbs After Gastric Sleeve Surgery ?
Stalls are normal. My surgeon doesn't focus on that. Seems yours doesn't either. As a matter of fact it is my first week and I must eat 4 oz of pureed fruit a day. I prefer this approach. On this forum many have been successful both ways. Since I am not carb sensitive I hope to get to goal while enjoying carbs. I suggest you talk to your surgeon before making any changes. Best wishes on whatever you decide!

Glad you are happy! Our bodies will do what they will do and 20 pounds a month is AMAZING! I am trying to reign in my imagination so my expectations don't get out of whack. This beats ANY diet we have tried in the past right? Take care!

Increasing Appetite With Gastric Sleeve Recovery Normal?
Hang in there!!! I don't get full from my shakes either. I have always felt "neutral". Neither hungry nor full. I start off with 4 ounces of warm tea & my PPI. Right away I move on to Protein for Breakfast. Then I go back to thin liquids (tea, diluted crystal light, smart Water etc). If I feel I am about to get hungry (or even before this feeling), I go right back to protein. I sip ALL DAY LONG. I haven't met met my Fluid goal of 80-100 ounces yet, but I do meet my protein goal of 71-89 grams. What are your goals? Just remembered I am allowed 4 ounces of pureed fruit a day so that might be helping me.

Got My Gastric Sleeve Surgery Date -- Small Dilemma!
Hmmm I would question why you will be taken care of one doctor (doctor #2) and handed over to yet another one (the 3rd one) if there are complications. That is what I would be uncomfortable with. If the second doctor is not trained to take care of your potential complications, then I wouldn't want him there at all. Also, my practice has 2 doctors and one is the "guru". One is the surgeon of excellence. The other one might be competent, but he is up and coming and I only wanted the master. That is just me. I'm picky. Best wishes in whatever you decide.

When can i start really working out.
You don't have a ticker so I don't know how much weight you have to lose and how much you lost pre-op, but this is what would be worrying me. This doesn't sound right. :whatchutalkingabout

The 20% Insurance Doesn't Cover
I went to a center of excellence (my surgeon is a surgeon of excellence in a hospital of excellence) but I paid about $3000 out of pocket. I was asked to pay in advance but I also did not ask if I had other options. Most of the money was for the hospital (my deductible/out of pocket) and $600 was for the bariatric office. Some bariatric offices have much higher fee than $600. Research that. You might save yourself a lot of money.

Where Is Your Support When You Need It?
I would work really hard to save a 19 year old friendship. I would talk to her, email her, write her multiple times...whatever it takes. She might not agree with your surgery (she is entitled to her opinion), but you can tell her how you wish she would support you or how she is making you feel etc. In my opinion friends or family don't always have to agree with us. As a matter of fact, I would worry if I only have people around me that follow my same religion, politics, race etc. Having said that I wouldn't tolerate mean things like sabotage, gossip and such. I hope you can save this friendship. 19 years is a lifetime. Best wishes!

Odd Or Normal? How Was It For You?
My recovery has not been as good as yours but close. I did have a hellish 45 minutes of dry heaving, nausea & acid pain at the hospital, but other than that it has been pretty good. The first day home from the hospital I drank 61 ounces of liquid/73 grams of Protein & ate 4oz pureed fruit (in two servings). I do have to sip small and constant, but that is improving greatly. I can sleep on my side since day 2-3 with a tad of discomfort that goes away with well placed pillow. I took only one pain medication to sleep better, not that I was in pain. I even went to the movies yesterday! I filled a 12 ounce bottle with smart Water, crystal light, benefiber & some Isopure juicy protein and sipped on that. I did great. I still can't believe it. However that is THE only thing I have done aside from sipping & walking. I feel great, but I am taking it very easy. I don't want to go backwards. I have soothing music as we speak, I get up constantly to walk around the house & I sip sip sip all day long. Later I will walk a little outside to get some sun. Take good care of yourself!

Congrats Dying2Bhealhty! Does the 19.5 pounds include pre-op loss? @Geno-You will be handed paperwork with very scary potential complications with EVERY surgery. I read it and asked the surgeon some questions in regards to some of them and then I moved on. If not, I wouldn't have had a hysterectomy, breast reduction & gallbladder surgery. We just have to be confident that our surgeon is the most experienced surgeon you can get, in the best hospital you can get and that you have done tons of research. The rest, we have no control over....in my opinion. Don't let this drive you crazy sweetie. - Banana Babes
