  1. i'm post op and i have only told 3 people among my family and friends and i'm not regretting it so far ... i'm just wondering what i'm going to say when all the weight starts to melt off...i think people will notice since my goal weight is half of my start weight...
  2. swizzly keep us posted on the outcome
  3. the-best-foods-for-hair this was an article that i received via email and just wanted to share with post op ... that can eat ... best of luck everyon the info is the best 6 foods that helps with hair this is just a snippet from the article Skinless chicken breast is another healthy source of Protein, and it's rich in B Vitamins — folate, B6, and B12 — that maintain healthy hair. These vitamins play an important role in the creation of red blood cells, which carry oxygen and nutrients to all body cells, including those of the scalp and hair follicles. When the body is deprived of B vitamins, the cells can starve, causing shedding, slow growth or weak strands that are prone to breaking.
  4. i'm one week post and went to see my PCP because i was already schedule to see her before my VSG surgery and she wanted me to keep the appointment... since she was going to be providing my follow up care ... she has been my PCP for 3 yrs now and yesterday at my appointment she shared with me that she had WLS ... i never knew ... she always is so on me about taking better care of myself as far as my weight is concerned ... she had gastric bypass and she has never heard of the sleeve but was already very amazing at my results already ... she said my labs were looking good and i'm doing well ... and that she was proud of me ... she has seen first hand me lose 20 or 30 pounds just to gain it all back by my next 6 months check up .... anyway ... VSG still very new ... locally only one dr performs it and he charges 27, 000 self pay ...CRAZY RIGHT!!!!
  5. i'm getting them now ..( i only get them in the early morning after a long break from liquids)...i'm taking nexium for them ... i think mine is hunger ... only 7 days post op ....hope mine gets better after i'm able to eat ...
  6. girlie you're just melting away....great job!!!!!
  7. i'm with fox on this one ...i've even seen on this board where someone had to have the plication reversed because of necrosis of the stomach tissues ...the word necrosis scares me... sleeve is the way to go... i was sleeved a week ago today and compared to others i've had a very easy recovery thanks to GOD ... before being sleeved, i also glanced at plication until i started reading about the necrosis, no restrictions and lots of them saying that they still felt the hunger sensation... i knew then plication wasn't for me ... best of luck ...
  8. ok, so try apple juice i had about 10oz ... today in 5 oz increments of course .. and wow did that do the trick ...maybe to well .... hope this helps...........

  12. Sam that guy sounds like a really douch and as for your mother ... believe me when i say i know how you feel as my mother has been saying the same thing to me since i was about 6 years old .... and then came my husband and proved her wrong ... Girl be encouraged ... i have gained about 75lbs since being married ( i was thick when we meet) and he has never uttered a word about my weight ... or has ever made me feel like no chick can hold a match to me ...big or small ... Don't worry you will find the man GOD has created especially for you. The one who will love you no matter how big or small you are, because you will be the one who hold his heart !!!!!... here a pic of me and hubby around nov of last year ... and our newest addiction .... It's to bad we have to go through the douches to find mister right... but trust it's so worth it in the end ... be encouraged ... keep your head up... and keep weeding out the douches...

  14. hi , i'm 5 days post op ... my surgeon was Dr Aceves in mexico ... but had the same fear as you and i also decide not to tell my family ... but all is well... i'm doing well and i so understand the fear of death i cried and prayed i was so worried.... you'll be fine ... dr kelly sleeved a lots of people from this site and one of my sleeves sistas went to him on the july 29th and she's doing great ( peppercma) her surgery was very uneventful... and that's a good thing... sending peaceful soothing thoughts your ways... best of luck.... Denise (cutie pie)
  15. i thought the same thing yesterday ... i saw it run thorugh on the leak test ... so i paid no attention yesterday and sort of sipped when i wanted too ... and really over did it ... SERIOUSLY!!!! I had all my Protein ( 50 g) and Water (64 oz) intake in ( all before dinner @ 5 pm and then sipped on half a bottle propel water as i waited for my egg drop Soup to be delivered) and around dinner time yesterday when the egg drop soup came I strained it added water and proceeded to sip away ... before i knew it i was MISERABLE... and when i looked down my poor tummy was hard and swollen twice it's normal size .... i was doubled over in pain ... i was in so much pain ( ... i really wanted to go to the emergercy room ...) liquids can flow fast and i guess i must have had to much at one time and it was to much for my body to absorb easily... learn from my mistake ... i certainly have .... this morning i'm fine... and i'll be will be writing down everything i drink and not exceeding my 2 oz max every 15 minutes per my dr .... full of liquids is no fun ( I couldn't even sleep i was so scared ... i thought i had done serious damage since only 5 days post op... just cause it pass the tummy quickly doesn't mean it absorbed quickly... Learned it the hard way.....
