  1. I am betting you feel extremely better within a week! as you know I had my lap band the same day as you - this was my 4th surgery to my abdomen via laproscopic. My port hurts when I turn a certain way and the smallest burp bubbles are uncomfortable, other then that I am not hungry and holding down clear and milky proteins. I pray you feel better real soon!

  2. Woke up from surgery to find that the Dr. had to use a large band, I had been previously told that he always used the regular band, never needed to use the large! I hope this does not destroy my hopes of being a " No Filler " ? These ice chips are yummy LOL - Not hungry at all, looking forward to going home tomorrow.
  3. Thanks to all, I have been walking I cannot sleep in hospitals, hoping to go home today. My doctor was awesome enough to have the gas removing machine ( I learned about it after my last surgery it prevents the gas pain but most doctors do take the extra minute or the cost of the machine-it should be mandatory on Laproscopic procedures) so NO gas pain, very nice this is my 3rd procedure in as many years due to my liver disease. So excited to start this journey! ! !

    Day Before Lap Band Surgery

I started drinking the trilyte at noon (same stuff they give you prior to a colonoscopy). It was prescribed at my pre op appointment - it seems not all doctors give patients the joy of this RX :-)

  6. I get my band the same day as you, I am so excited ... especially since this liquid diet has stolen all of my energy. I pray we both have uneventful surgeries!. Preston

    Liver

I have Fatty Liver too, and hepatatic damage. Alpha-1 is a rare genetic liver disease that highly increases the chance of COPD, Lung Cancer, Liver Cancer and Cirrhosis. I am 6'0.5" and 281 lbs, with ALL of my weight directly in my belly the doctors say my risk is even worse. Besides no drinking, no smoking, no processed foods the single most beneficial thing I can do is lose weight and be a good example for my two young daughters who also have Alpha-1 BTW it is Alpha-1 Awareness month ! http://www.alpha-1foundation.org/
