  1. that way i could/would have given myself a leg up with the weight loss practiced Water rules,eaten small bites etc why didn't i do the above??? i guess i wanted to live my last few days of my life before sleeve should have done pre-op - my new life would have already started no prob - me and my new life have arrived!! out with the old........... kathy
  2. @@teacherjen my doc told me i don't have to do a pre-op diet when i asked him why, he merely said "he didn't believe in them" ?? i was also concerned. - only read that OP have pre-op diet i was surprised when i periodically read from OP didn't have pre-op diet good to know that i wasn't alone i've always regretted that i didn't put myself on some pre-op diet ie doing liquids on my own - oh well, hindsight good luck kathy

  7. @@thisbouquet welcome, welcome, welcome problems, problems, problems what a way to join this group we're glad you are here sorry you came out of surgery being told you didn't have sleeve can't even imagine how disappointing and upsetting that was doc said no sleeve does that mean NO other WLS could be done? (ie gastric bypass, RNY) you've gone through this process for over a year most everyone on the board will say that too WLS is worth waiting for continue to talk to your doc about different surgeries talk to another dr too get a 2nd opinion hope things work out sooner than later good luck kathy
  8. @@wyndy1 you've "ONLY" lost 19.3 in first month!! 1.66 lbs average a day!! you are not losing weight slowly many OP are turning green with envy don't complain, or wish you had lost more weight someone might come over and bop you over the head!! you really are doing great!! keep up the good work Celebrate each of those lbs lost good luck kathy
  9. @@Gina42 NO having heartburn/gerd PO after sleeve happens a lot some people might be heartburn free for a while then develop it after a period of time (one year, two, etc) i am two (2) months shy of 5 years PO sleeve never had gerd!! good luck kathy

  11. @ssflbelleme sorry you are in such pain that sounds terrible did/are you take pics during your loss? showing rashes or whatever that way will PS might be covered by Insurance have you spoken with a PS yet talking about plans for skin removal probably more than one surgery, right?? good luck rooting for you you've been such a success/inspiration keep up the good work while the weight goes down!!! kathy
  12. @@gustavio these OP probably/might have started the gym at a much heavier weight how do you think they got skinny?!! they probably were also self-conscious they kept going back to the gym, and got healthier while they were loosing lbs they might have had the same thoughts you did keep going back to gym treadmill, other machines good idea asking trainer to explain the machines to you still kindof scared Get Over It i bet you can do this!! (i put $20.00 down on your success)!! good luck bud kathy

  16. @@ella37 4 days PO you might be retaining fluids from the IV your weight hasn't changed yet but you are not in an official stall a stall happens when you haven't lost any weight in at least 3 weeks don't get ahead of yourself in worry you'll start loosing weight, in its own time newbies don't know what to expect immediately PO re read your post - sounds like you know whats going on couple days after i was sleeved my mom called me. she was in a whisper and said, did your underpants fall to the floor?! (2 days PO) OP (whether person who had WLS or family/friend) don't know people will loose at first - then through their journey too calm down, try not to worry or get frustrated there will be plenty of time for that later! good luck kathy

  25. @@ebonymc the above two (2) phrases say it all! great attitude!!! lapband is no longer useful to you, now painful getting revision surgery is great out with the old, in with the new sorry your diabetes is so out of control this health issue (others too) should improve or disappear PO 60 years old too late??............ NO WAY - never too late age doesn't matter i turned 58 years OLD a couple of months PO I will be turning 63 years YOUNG in January I will be 5 years post sleeve in December have/had been maintaining (fluctuating a bit) now i must/will lose the extra 6 lbs i put on a few months ago your as young as you feel 60 is the new 40 good luck kathy http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/417-sixties/
