  1. @heycrystal2052 i know you didn't mean any wrong all is good!! after all, i'm smart as can be - and cute as a button Kathy
  2. @Strivingforbetter @Berry78 @heycrystal2052 sorry ALL friends - i don't think i'll ever get lose and loose right i'll keep trying to remember the right word/spelling. "Do or Do Not, There is No Try"!!! Yoda i don't think i'm ignorant, but then again!! kathy
  3. @James Marusek i think you started this list 3 years ago?? repeat it annually for newbies et al. you do this wonderful "service". before YOUR time it took me awhile to learn that NUT referred to a nutritionist, not a crazy person, or something to eat maybe we could add DW/DH for dear wife/dear husband - OP - other person - WLS - weight loss surgery - always room for new abbreviations - any one want to speak up. you are a heck of a nice guy - aces - contributing to the board with good info/thoughts/suggestions/support. thanx kathy
  4. @ladydirc happy 1 year surgiversary wishing you had WLS years ago?? i think that's one thing most/all of us have in common. butttttt, better late than never!!! you have done a great job. 67 lbs gone!!! keep up the great job for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life!!! you are aces!!! kathy congrats
  5. @Sosewsue61 my NUT told me about the cereal but I agree with your analogy too once again shows alll NUTS are not created equally - your soup sounds great, i'll come over next time you want to share and talk thanx for "setting me straight" kathy
  6. @hopingforamiracle if you had reflux prior to surgery, strong possibility you will get reflux again with sleeve. if you get the sleeve and have too many issues with reflux - many OP are now revising to gastric bypass. reflux should be taken care of with revision. you were advised to have bypass (by surgeon?) that's also a good reason to do the bypass. good luck kathy
  7. I will say NO i love cereal Special K has 10gr protein - milk 6gr of protein carbs 19gr - sugars 7gr calories 120 - milk 40 when you add milk to cereal you are - per MY NUT having liquid w/a meal (like having water w/a meal) ah, ah, ah - not supposed to "eat and drink" being almost 6 years old VET- i will have the occasional treat of milk and cereal together - but it's not the best choice, especially for newbies do as i say, not as i do!!! kathy
  8. @Deegil good for you!!! off to a great start you sound and should be very excited. keep up the good work kathy congrats
  9. @itstimealready keeping your old clothes, IMO gives you an "OK"/permission to wear the clothes again, IF you gain weight (which you won't/shouldn't) keeping your old clothes,. its like setting yourself up for a fall. you figure you MIGHT gain weight, oh well, i still have my fat clothes!! IMO - get rid of those big clothes don't be a pessimist that you will gain weight. be an optimist that you will remain at your new, smaller self. 84 lbs down, very close to goal!!!! woo hoo lots to be proud of - keep up the good job! kathy congrats
  10. @Katie Loesch-Meyer my mom "introduced" me to sweet 'n low when i was a teenager. she said it had no calories, and would help me loose weight. Been hooked on sweet ' low ever since. no side effects, cravings etc. good luck to you kathy
  11. @Ninjagogo 142.8 lbs gone that's great!! party dance, party dance!!! keep up the good job for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life you are aces!!! kathy congrats
  12. @Elise24 - i'm sure you are following all the rules, working hard. the weight should/will come off - hopefully sooner than later. things are "temporarily" not going your way. continue to do what you are doing - the # on the scale should/will move as time passes - take your measurements - you might be losing in your waist, hips etc. (instead of the scale) it can be hard sometimes to read how a person is writing something on the computer. we talk to a monitor directly. you can't see how the OP is talking to you. things can be mis-read, misunderstood. you asked nicely for suggestions to help you i think IMO he didn't say anything wrong @SuperDave meant no harm, was just voicing his thoughts, trying to help he lost 195 lbs!! GOAL, he's worked hard too, and was just trying to help a fellow person out. no ill intent meant or said.we ARE here to support each other/help. - give info etc . i think that's what he did. spirits up, while your your weight goes down!!! @SuperDave congrats on losing 195 lbs!! that's great!! @Elise24 best of luck for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life. kathy
  13. now i'm seriously sad. looks like @Kay Ballance is not on the board anymore. she joined August 2nd, last post was August 2nd - haven't heard from her - today is 8/27 - we'll prob never know her prob - hope she is safe, well & feeling better kathy
  14. @Smores ahhhhh, wonderful news you sound very excited!! liquid diet is a pre-op diet that many go through. muddle through it, shrink your liver and your weight. your new life is beginning. follow all the many rules your NUT and surgeon give you water, protein, carbs etc. are very important Words to live by. good luck kathy
  15. @Nurse_Lenora i remember you sorry you gained some weight. important thing is you are acknowledging that you have/ had a problem. doing liquids now is a great jump start to loose some weight at a rapid speed. (making you feel good) then continue with all that you learned as a newbie. (water, protein, etc.) turn around -support is always near by good luck kathy
  16. @ridingrae "knowing the problem is half the solution" what's worse than gaining 15 lbs? answer - gaining 16 lbs.!! i've been there, done that over the years if i were in your position, i would have 3 shakes a day, or 2 shakes a day w/light meal. basically a liquid diet. i would do this for 5 days, or 7 or............... this should/will help you loose weight - give you a quick jump start. then continue to eat and drink like you learned as a newbie. these suggestions are easy for me to write. unfortunately, not simple to follow. with determination and strength, you can be a success. yes, this IS tough. you know what to do - you just need a kick in the arse to get you started!! LOL ready, set, go, and you are off!! good luck kathy
  17. @heycrystal2052 hey bud you are such a cutie. this "recipe" helped you loose 191 lbs.!! i think i'll try it. you are aces!! keep up the good job kathy
  18. especially when they are from my cooking i do enjoy my chili, put into pre-measured portions in freezer. nice leftovers. easy peasy!! that's about the extent of my cooking LOL not the best cook i keep experimenting, trying to improve my skills (or lack of)!! "Do or Do Not there is NO try)" Yoda kathy
  19. @CamillaSappho i thought i heard someone singing congrats on your successful event!! good luck kathy
  20. @FlyFatA$$Fly maybe not for you, but........... @bossportsgal glad you did well on the race - never doubted you would! does the speed i used to do at a buffet count towards running a race? LOL if it does, i usually ended up in first place!! kathy
  21. @mybariatricjourney woo hoo!! wishing you a healthier, happier, longer life good luck speedy recovery kathy
  22. @beebee17 count down..... 71, 70, 69, 68........... and you will be offfff!! "maybe" a few bumps in the road. you might fall down/ stumblealways, always get up!! i know you can/will be another success story!! good luck bud speedy recovery kathy
  23. @Kennalb i didn't bring any electronics, cell phone, IPAD, etc. - or even a book to read!! after recovery i slept, and slept. i snored a lot too!! wherever you live, you probably heard me LOL You could bring an adapter for your things - i didn't this it was necessary for an adapter. maybe you would like it. how's that for a 1/2 assss answer LOL good luck - kathy
