Am I pigging out alone???
This is normal. BUT it is up you. You have to decide when you are going to start your new life. Is it today? Next week? or after surgery? If you start now your recovery will be a lot easier. I had lost 20 pounds before my surgery & I haven't had any problems since the surgery. Others have done the same thing.

If there's one thing you think pre-surgery members should know...
My doctor's office has a weight loss store for food. I bought Weight & Inches Protein powder. I had no problem because I wanted to do it. So get busy! Good luck & welcome to your new life.

New NSV's, but not sure how I feel about some.....
Sounds like you got some co-workers that are green with envy. Keep them green. Were they concerned when you had your weight on? Like the saying from the 70's...."Keep on Trucking"

Pre-op Diet Warning!
Why wouldn't you diet before the surgery to help out your liver? If you are changing your life start there, not after surgery. The longer you can diet the better for you.

Denied!
This shows you should check your BMI before you go & gain weight to stay above BMI of 40. Some Insurance company's do not see the long term money saved by using this as a prevention operation. Some Insurance company's see it & do not make you jump through hoops to get it paid for. Good luck to you.

OBEY THE STOMACH! YOU BOUGHT IT! IT's letting you know "STOP!"

im seriously regretting this
You can't drink alot right now. 20oz would be doing good. It is rough sipping a 1oz cup every 15 minutes. So sip what your stomach will let you. As it heals you will sip more. Good luck

I am so mad at myself
Hey girl you are learning like me. (July 26th) The hospital gave me a bunch of 1 OZ medichine cups. I use these ALL the time. The most I drink is 2 OZ in 15 minutes. I am still on my weight lost shakes the doctor told me to take. I don't have the nerve to eat what you do. You did not mess up your stomach. Start to measure everything out. I have had the dry heaves twice. Once gulping water & another taking a pain pill with just water. So the new stomach will teach us not to screw up. I'm not getting my 64 oz in at all. I may get in 40 oz. Yesterday 3 days out I had a better day for fluids. The others were hit & miss. Not that I wasn't trying, my stomach wasn't. Right now I just finished a 16oz shake & it takes about 2 hours. Now I have 20oz bottle of water I am slowly working on. So keep marching on. Looking forward for to Sept when we newbies can have some food again.

Surprising after effect of weight loss!
Never knew they were meant for skinny people only. Figured full figured people would make a bigger target. Guess those toilets don't like fat people either.
-
Why do I think I can eat more than I can???
Listen to these people. You will get fat again if you don't learn how to eat right. My Doctor has a year long classes set up to help you learn & keep track of these things. See if there is something in your area. The sleeve is a tool not a cure.

FIRST NSV
3 days after surgery my daughter told me "Dad this is the best decision you have ever made." I'm down 29 pounds since my protein diet.
-
If there's one thing you think pre-surgery members should know...
For me it was the 2 week liquid protein diet I put myself on& walking one hour everyday before the surgery. This put me in the right frame of mind. I was so ready for this. These doctors are not just fixing things but saving & changing lives.

Once upon a time there was a fat girl named Karen..
Welcome here. Yea I think this is a better site also. You are doing great! You attitude is great. I was sleeved yesterday. I am very sore. But the air has gone away now. I would burp it out by walking in the living room to the kitchen. If you sit it will not burp out. You have reached a point in your life where you need this. Go for you! I told very few people also. Welcome again!

Sleeved on July 26th
Hi all, Got to Sentra hospital in Hampton VA. at 6:45 a.m., was taken to surgery around 8:45 a.m. Woke up in pain, but the hospital staff quickly adjusted my meds to control the pain level. I was taken down for a swallowing test around 2:00 p.m. and released to go home around 4:00. Everyone at the hospital was outstanding and very informative. Dr. Clark is great! Pretty sore today - and struggling to learn how to sip, instead of gulp my liquids. I am using a teaspoon to sip from. My stomach definitely lets me know when its had enough. So far I have not had to use my nausea medication - so that is good! Been trying to walk laps around my living room and kitchen. It helps release the gas that was pumped into my stomach during surgery. On my way to a new life!

My New Birthday is TODAY!

I'm confuse!
Yes it is normal because you are changing your life. You are at a fork in the road. One leads to weight loss & a new life. The other has you going down a path of pain & suffering & a slow death. Wishing you well.
