Hi and welcome I am here at fort hood and was sleeved on March 24th i almost 2 1/2 months out. I am down 40 lbs so far. I had mine done at darnell and loved the care that i got at the hospital and with the drs. If you go on post i recommend the support groups i try to go to every one i can and they are so supportive .

Ah congrats on the baby she beautiful We went thru fertility treatments for many years and now we are adopted parents of 2 wonderful kids they been home for 2 1/2 yrs and now 6 and 5 yrs old

Hi I am not sure where you are about right now the wait list is very short i actually from start to surgery date was only 2 months and i loved the care i got and everyone was so great there. Wishing you all the best .

Nope i was scared so bad the last few days before surgery all the worries went thru my head I want you to know that i got great care at Darnel i was scared about that too having it at a army hospital. If you need anything or just want support my number is open. You are making a great choice and i love my sleeve now i am still learning to use it and i am now 4 weeks out.

Due to the fact that i was on vacation my half of my last week of regular foods i kinda went crazy thinking i am not going to be able to eat like this again lol but on the flip side i was also on the liquid diet half of vacation . If you need anything my inbox is always open and i will im you my phone number. Those days are so of the hardest but you will get thru it. Stock up on sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello those were my stables between the broths and the protein shakes. Drink lots of water. It may seem like liquids last forever but your date will be here before you know it

Hi I am 2 weeks out as of today and on sunday i was able to start soft foods i have had eggs and cheese, pinto beans and cheese, greek yogurt with carmel, and the inside of a baked potato with cheese. So far everything i have eat has settled just fine and i feel great do have moments of low energy but over all i feel great. I have been walking back and forth to the kids school and walking longer routes and loving it.

I had the drain for 4 days and it was taken out at the dr office taking the stitch and glue hurt more than the actually drain coming out but i hated the drain i was always scared of pulling it out.

Hey Glad to see you are doing good i am to went and got the drain tooken out today and i was so happy to have that out it was so hard sleeping with it in I feel great just a little sore and cann't bend over that great .

hey got sleeved on march 24th was let out of the hospital on the 25th i been doing okay trying to get in my liquids sore and little uncomfortable but doing pretty good ready for the drain to come out on monday .

Tomorrow i meet with the surgeon to go over everything and i am also starting the high protein and low carb diet part I will do this 10 days then i will start the liquid diet on the 16th and then surgery on 24th. I am going on spring break back home to georgia for the week and scared about starting the liquid diet while out there but i know i can do it and will be strong. Just wish hubby was here for all of this I miss him like crazy okay only 29 more days and a wake to he comes home. My mom will be coming home from georgia to be with me threw the surgery and until hubby gets home from training.

Got my one on one with the nut done yesterday and now set up for my talk with surgeon on monday i cant believe its march and i am now 32 yrs old but i am going to change my life in just a few weeks

Its almost march i cant wait to March 24th I start the low carb high protein diet on Tuesday and then the liquid diet on March 16th.

Hey i am getting my done on March 24th here at fort hood and i start my preop diet on March 16th i will be on spring break so that should be fun to be on a told liquid diet and will be have a bday party for my kids with there georgia family on march 19th but the good thing is will be bringing my mom back with us and she will be staying for 3 weeks sine my husband will be in training

Hi I am here at fort hood in killeen and having the surgery at the army hospital I have a tentative date of march 24th i have to do fasting blood work tomorrow morning as long as no red flags come up that will be my date i am so excited but so nervous and gets going to be different i am going to georgia for spring break and bringing my mom back with me to watch the kiddos while i have surgery cause dh is going to be in california for ntc

I am 31 will be 32 on march 1st

Have you tried fort hood they are doing the sleeve here at fort hood it may be worth a shot for you to call them and ask.

I have medicare and tricare for life cause i am disabled(legally blind) my husband active duty and i go on post and i was also told that is the only place they would cover the vsg. I am in the begining stages but all i need is a support group meeting, psych eval, and the seminar then i will get on the waiting list then it could take any where from a month to a year.
