  1. well so far I've lost 44 lbs. It's going slow, but looking good. Love that all my clothes are so big. Buying medium sized shirts instead of XL and able to wear so many pants/clothes that I haven't been able to get into for years, even went down 2 sizes in my underwear! LOL. loving it, no more granny panties for me LOL! Keeping it going at a steady pace. If it wan't so hot out (100 degrees most days) I'd do more walking outside, riding my new bike or trying to jog, but it's way too hotfor that, so I've been doing alot of vigorous exercises in the pool like jumping jacks, swimming 50 laps around, and jogging 50 laps around with new rubber bottomed pool shoes that keep my feet from slipping. Love those exercise DVD's and my indoor treadmill. Feels great to have more energy, and being so much lighter as I'm doing them. Never give up, Never surrender ! !
  2. Just wondering how you were doing? I also had surgery on 4-21-11 and I have lost 18 lbs so far. Still somewhat sore where they secured the port to a muscle, but other than that I feel SO much better, have more energy and have had no more acid reflux, indegestion, bloated and uncomfortable feeling. Trying to walk on my treadmill every day to burn those calories. Another tool that I have found is that drinking this Protein powder from

  8. I just had my surgery April 21, and besides being sore where the port is attached to a muscle, I can't feel the band at all. Soon the pain will go away and a friend that I work with that had the band applied a year & a half ago, said she can't feel anything. When I lay on my stomach I can feel the port, but I guess it's only because it's still somewhat sore. Not bad though. Things are going well. I've lost 18 lbs so far and go for my first fill on May 31, looking forward to that. I pray that you can find the finances to do this. I am so happy to be off all the meds that I was on before and feel SO much better than I did before surgery. Take Care, Kim Hi everyone! My name is Jen and I am currently living in Ottawa, ON. I am 24 years old and weigh in around 270lbs. I have pretty much decided that the lap band is the way to go for me, but I still have some questions floating around in my head. Here are two that are on my mind today: 1. Do you ever get the sensation that you can feel your band? Not the restrictive effect, but like there's actually something inside you that if you move a weird way you can feel it? 2. I am concerned that I will never feel normal again. I will always have to eat with focus and explain to people why I can only eat a small portion. I am trying to arrange my finances before going ahead a booking my date. I will be self-paying because I live in Ontario. Thanks for any insight! Jen
  9. I just had surgery on April 21, I've lost 18 lbs so far. I also had terrible pain in my left shoulder, that was almost inpossible to work out, but finally did thank goodness. The swelling is going down and besides being a little sore, things are going well. Now that they told me to eat regular food, the weight loss has stopped. I am due for my first fill on May 31 and I hope that makes it so I am not so hungry. Loved it at the beginning when I was hardly hungry. Hope the fill goes well. Take care Kaye. Kim Hi I had my surgery last Tuesday 3rd May, and apart from the pain in my left shoulder from the gas, for the first week I'm doing fine. Just hope this time I can loose the weight and keep it off. Good luck to others who are having their lap bands put in in the near future. Cheers Kaye
