Always thin my entire life, matter-o-fact I was always underweight. Even after having my two daughters I fit right back into my size 7 pants. It wasn't until after the birth of my son and I was 30 that I have a hysterectomy that my weight started to change. I was not doing anything different, yet my weight climbed and climbed each week adding fat all over my body. I discovered for some reason my body was turning everything I ate into fat. I became pre-diabetic, developed adult on-set asthma, couldn't breathe, couldn't sleep had constant indigestion and heartburn. I was on meds for that, depression/anxiety, asthma, put on a C-pap machine. I wanted to be me again. To be the thin girl that I remembered. I wanted to feel younger, not have a bag full of meds, but feel healthy and full of life. I tried to diet on my own, followed every diet known to mankind. But all I could lose was 5-6 pounds. Basically water weight. I wasn't taking in huge volumes of food, not big on bread, chips, cake, and all that junk but was addicted to chocolate. I didn't think food was my problem really but decided to get the lap-band. And instantly I was off all the meds (well except inhalers, I still have asthma) and I was losing a pound a day. It was so exciting. I think when I finally started eating regular food it slowed way down. It may be slow, but it going away. It's been 2 years now for me and I've lost a total of 65 pounds. And it's still coming off. I can wear clothes I haven't been able to wear in such a long time. I'm glad that my loss is slow, because I don't have any loose skin and with exercise help tighten things up.
