50lbs in 10 weeks! yay!
50 lbs in 10 weeks has me lovin my sleeve (not 100%...lol, but like 90% haha) I'm happy...and feeling better. Almost halfway there...and losing is getting SLOWER...I guess this is where I have to start putting some effort into it! I have kinda skated by losing no matter what up till this point. Time to become a bit more diligent about protein, water and exercise! Can't wait to see what my next 10 weeks brings!!! My next goal is to just be 'overweight' instead of obese on the BMI scale....lol.

14 weeks out tomorrow and a stall??
Hi. I'm right there with ya! I had surgery 4/12/11 and I have not lost a pound in a week! This is the first time I have stalled like this. I'm trying not to get too discouraged, and I know I didn't eat great this past weekend, but NOTHING to be stuck at! I am back to cottage cheese for breakfast, greek yogurt for lunch and a mostly protein dinner...something has to work! Hope you break your stall FAST!!!

new symptom (insert weak & tired chuckle here)
lol...I was thinking it was because I hadn't had that much sugar at one time yet thing...but I am STILL yawning! Maybe I need a nap? The heartburn is pretty bad at the moment too, 2 tums have not touched it. I agree..I will not be having ice cream out again any time soon. But the yawning every couple of minutes is just ODD...thought maybe someone else had experienced it.

Unless you're allergic, aren't shrimp and Scallops a great protein
I take my shrimp and scallops together with a tiny bit of butter, some sea salt and garlic and cook them in a frying pan. Then I take a few mushrooms sliced thin and toss them in for a few minutes (sometimes I add another chopped small steamed veggie to the mix). I put it in half cup servings in little containers and keep them in the frig for lunches or a quick easy dinner. Reheats in less than a minute...yummy!

new symptom (insert weak & tired chuckle here)
Ok, so as I have mentioned...or you can see on my ticker...I am getting married (2nd times a charm right...lol) So, today we have 6 of us gals together to go see BRIDESMAIDS. Funny movie. Had a great time, didn't snack at all during the flick and I was fine with it...yay me! Agterwards a little shopping then everyone wants to go for ice cream. Ok...we go to Johnny Rockets. Only one kind of ice cream, regular vanilla. So I splurge. I have not had real ice cream in God knows how long. I got a single scoop of vanilla with a little chocolate and a little peanut butter on it and of course whipped topping. I didn't even finish the whole thing. So it can't be too horrible...right? All of a sudden I felt flushed, hot on the inside and a cold sweat on my face and arms. Can't seem to breathe comfortably...just feeling crappy...then I start to yawn. I did not get sick or have diarrhea (I was worried the whole way home) but the yawning continues...its been like 2 hours and I am still yawning??? What is that? Is this a symptom you have heard of? I mean I still feel off, but not as bad as I did....but yawning still...this is almost as annoying as my hiccup bouts. Sooo...one of you fellow sleevers please, yet again, tell me I am not alone here! LOL...this sleeve is making me feel like this sure is one crazy life!

4 weeks post op camping??
Medically speaking, the water restriction is usually until all your incisions are healed over. (no scabs) so you should probably be ok. Just check with your MD. At the worst, you can wade and splash around a little. The drain incision seems to heal the slowest...so if you have one, thats the one to watch> Good luck and I hope you're feeling great for your trip! Tammy~

Staying Hydrated
I had that issue too. I could not do crystal light or flavored waters...they were sickly sweet! I have NEVER put ice in my drinks...room temp all the way. Cold killed my teeth actually. Now teeth be damed, I have to pack a drink with ice! Cold cold cold and it is the only way Water will go down! If its super icy cold I can tolerate it? Maybe try that??

5 Days Post Op Issues
I am sorry you're off to a rough start. I felt kinda discouraged at the beginning too. (tomorrow is 2 months) and while its hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel...it does get better. And then you will have good and bad days. I still do, but I think I am hitting the point that I do not regret my decision. It has taken me weeks to get to that opinion...and I'm not 'all in' yet with loving my sleeve....but the weight loss was my primary goal and I know without a shadow of a doubt, it never would have happened and STAYED gone, if I had not suffered through the surgery. Sooooo...every time you lose a pound, know...that for the first time in your life THAT POUND is gone FOREVER!!!! So no matter how slow...how fast a pound goes or how painful or discouraging a day gets...you can know that things will absolutely positively get better in time and that you won't go through all this only to be back at your heaviest weight ever again!!! Good luck!!! *hugs*

Stomach closure???
I was scoped at 6 weeks and all you can see is a slight red line...no staples at all...closed beautifuly already! (ok so beauty is relative...I was an OR nurse...lol) I think once you are over the initial healing your pretty good on the 'leak' part.

1 month surgeriversary (yesterday)
Great job and great choices...I'm going to try the egg/hummus thing! I want hummus so bad and cant have the chips or pretzels to scoop with. Veggies are to rough on my tummy right now...BUT AN EGG!?? Pure genius! Thanks!

5 days post and i'm starving!
I truly believe the first few weeks are the toughest. I'm 8 weeks out and its still hard. There is a GIGANTIC mental component to this surgery. I WANT things more than I am hungry for things....thats been my biggest battle. Good luck! And know that you can vent, cry and complain to all of us and we vent cry and complain with you! Share a victory and we all cheer with you! You are not alone! Hang tough!

NOW I know what ONE-DERLAND is!
Well, honestly...I ate 3 oz of asparagus tonight...got SEARING pain in my stomach then vomited the asparagus and bright red blood. Called my surgeon...he said double the omeprazole and let him know if it happens again. Im a little worried, but it doesn't seem like he is....so again, Im in wait & see mode....sigh. PS...obviously I am not the 'norm'...lol, if it can happen, it happens to me! This is a crazy ride, this sleeve! Onderland is a nice place to live though

What I had for Lunch
I DID THAT!!! The italian herb flatbread a tiny bit of sauce mushrooms and cheese...ohhh it was sooo incredibly wonderful! I tried it first at like 3 weeks as well. I actually rolled mine like a burrito and cut it into thirds. It was sooooo wonderful. It was my 'pizza' fix...lol. You make me want one right now. I have been pretty turned off food lately...I need something like that to kick up my appetite. I think I am trying sushi tomorrow. I asked at my local place and AMAZING...they special make a hand roll of crab, avacado and cucumbers shaved to wrap! No rice...it was HEAVEN! Maybe sushi lunch and pizza dinner...how decadent will I feel! ?? Sooo...anyone who loves sushi ASK abpout rolls with no rice! YUMMY!

Second week out and gained 2 pounds
I think in the first few weeks theres a lot of water lost. Once they take out that IV we start our sip sip sip all day all night can't ever seem to sip enough. Its no where near the volume we got in an IV. So we lose a bit more. You pick up drinking and eating some...that water balances back out in our body! I think thats probably your 2 lbs. The weight will keep going down, I PROMISE!
