Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here
Yesterday I was bragging about what a model bandster i was being. HA! Well, went to the grocery store after work (hungry like crazy) and they were handing out these awesome <food porn> cookies and I just popped that sucker into my mouth...bite after bite until it was gone! THEN I cursed myself for ruining my no-cheat day. Had cottage cheese again for dinner to try to make up for it. I have had some revelations over the last few days since i've been really trying to monitor my food and I've come to the conclusion that what i've been doing is 'cramming my food in'. What i mean by that is that I don't care if it takes me an hour, by golly, I'll get all that food on my plate down my gullet!!! So, what I need to do is go back to using a saucer for my plate and REGULATE MY PORTIONS!! I'm just as satisfied and not belching and PBing! Duh. What a lightbulb moment, eh?

Everyone I know that's had back surgery....maybe about 5 people...have all gotten staph infections and ended up in the hospital for WEEKS. WTF?? Denise - I went thru an abusive situation, too. The police referred me to counseling at the Houston Area Women's Center and they were awesome in helping me to see what was what!! (i.e., that without lots of counseling he'll never change and it will only get worse.) There was always a waiting room full of women who could testify that was true. It was an eye-opening experience for me, to say the least. If it were me, i would call the shelters to see which one offers free counseling and encourage her to go talk to the experts...."just to talk to someone"....so that she can better evaluate her own situation and make her own choices. Give her a hotline number at the very least if she doesn't want to go in...and make her promise to call...."just to talk". I'm very sorry you're going thru this. Very painful and scarey.

Designated Toober........ROFL!! We'll count on you to get us thru the whitewater, OK? For those of you not familiar with current airport security rules, here's the official scoop.

Good Morning Girlz- Where's Michelle? Helllooooooooo And Cindy?? Where are you? I wish you'd check in! Haydee obviously has a real life. LOL Kat - That's a great idea about the $5 bills in your bank! I like never have cash, though! When I do it somehow ends up going to my son for gas money. Go figure. I use my debit card as much as possible because I get Cont'l miles for doing so. I get enough miles for a free ticket about every two years. I dunno....sounds like your system would be more profitable! We got Mom's apartment all cleared out yesterday...so that task is now behind us, thankfully. I actually will have a day 'off' today. Now we start looking in earnest for a place for her to live (?)....one that has apartment-type units, serves meals, provides recreation, etc....and also has a nursing facility attached for the time when her need for care ramps up. I hired a care manager to generate a report of available places on this side of town (a HUGE swath) and it came in the mail yesterday. There's only two places that even look like a possibility and they are EXPENSIVE....like $3,000/mo just for the basics! <big sigh> But it's what she wants to do, so we will trudge forward. I am really hoping to do some beading today! Havent touched a bead in over 2 weeks. Weight's holding at 182-184 as it has for 3 months now. Until I get back to the gym....which is still not a possibility.....my weight will not budge. I definitely feel more jelly-like too....ugh. Ya'll have a good Sunday. Enjoy your nappy-poo, Judy!

Suzie - You are doing great, girl. Keep up the great work and don't listen to the bad girlz on here! :frown: Congrats on the NSV yesterday! That should keep you going for about a week or two! Haven't had one of those myself in a loooooong time. Jenn- Congrats to you, too, for getting back on track so well. You've got some great carrots dangling in front of you now....DON'T BLOW IT! :hurray: Youre almost there!!! Pammy-head - (like that, eh?) Ya'll have a great time at Garth!! You're sweet to ask your neighbor...I'm sure he really appreciates it! Must just be his lucky day! Susanne must have really hurt her back to miss this concert! What happened? Laura - my DH walked by while I was looking at your picture and said, "WOW! Who's that? She's cute!!!" He was very, very impressed with your B&A's (but I had the undie pics scrolled out of view at the time, don't worry). We're both so proud of you!!! I had major ex-husband stress last night and ever since I can hardly eat anything. I had been doing so well, too....even enjoying chicken several times in the last few days! Last night I had 3 bites of leftover Chinese chicken and veggies and PB'd for an hour. Now I'm having same problem with a bit of peanut butter. That man needs to be medicated!! Sooooo glad I don't live with that crap anymore. Today we're finishing up packing, moving and storing Mom's apartment. DH is on his way over there with the truck and I'll join them later after I pick up my son from taking the SAT (again). Speaking of my son.... I feel so bad for him. Before he was diagnosed and medicated he was virtually flunking out of school....his sophmore and junior years were a disaster. Well, now he's on the honor roll even though he's taking heavy courses!! The bad thing is that his GPA is shit and his class ranking is shit and his first SAT was 975. He is stressng out so bad and kicking himself SO hard for not buckling down and trying harder in his early HS years...that now his options are so limited. And his DAD is putting so much pressure on him ...it's just ridiculous. The whole thing is so f'd up. Poor Evan. Such a sweet kid and good in every other way. I see some major battles coming up between his dad and me over all this stuff. I wish he'd just disappear....but leave the college fund!! Well, I need to get motivated.... ya'll have a great day! XOXOXO

I can pour it on or turn it off....as you like!! Kinda like Haydee I tend to exaggerate mine around "ferners". I've lived here all my life and am a 4th generation Texan....so yeah, I might have a little accent....but not too terribly obnoxious! I say "Wudjew do to yur arm?" :rolleyes2: Your mother would hate my guts!!!:eek: <---that's all I got to say about THAT!!!:bigear::eek:

Is it wrong to hope I get the flu?? All bands are filled with saline...i doubt yours is any different. I had to sign about 3 forms to consent to Omnipaque in my band. I think you'd know if you had anything else but saline. I'm in Houston. My doctor won't treat Mexico patients either...it's very common, unfortunately. But if it's just a question of a fill, that might be different.

GOD FORBID anyone's flight gets delayed!!!! OMG, that would be terrible. If we ever needed Purple (or Gruene) Power, it will be on that day!!!

NOT!! For you girls to get back to Houston on Monday for a 2:00 flight, you'd have to leave SA by 8:00 or so. 3.5 hr drive (depending on how fast Tracy drives!) + 1.5 hours check in time + fudge factor = 8:00 a.m. Kat, what time does the SW Flight get INTO Hobby? At this point it still looks best if Tracy goes to San Antonio to pick up a group...preferably the later group. (see below) So she'd pick you up a Hobby (at what time?) then drive to SA to pick up one of the other groups, then to Gruene. (???) Jenn, look at the schedule below...yes, there are people flying into both IAH and San Antonio. You just do what is easiest for you and we will make it happen.... ok?----------------------------------- ARRIVALS ----------------------------------- Group I - IAH Laura arrives IAH 7:53a Michelle arrives IAH 9:44a Kat arrives IAH 10:51a Group II - SAT Early Jane arrives SAT 11;15a TracyKS arrives 11:05a Group III - SAT Late Pamela arrives SAT 2:20p Judy arrives SAT 3:44p ----------------------------------------- DEPARTURES ----------------------------------------- Group I - SAT Pamela dep SAT 3:10p TracyKS dep SAT 4:00p Judy dep SAT 4:15p Group II - IAH Michelle dep IAH 4:45p Kat dep IAH 5:40p Laura dep IAH 6:45p (Jane drives with IAH group; departing 2 days later)

I would call around to find a doctor who would fill it with Omnipaque first, before doing anything else so drastic. If the Omnipaque doesn't do the trick, then go for a port revision (or whatever). If you need more info on fills done with Omnipaque, you can call my Dr's office (Dr. Spivak) and one of the nurses will be happy to talk with you...they're great. Dr Spivak has been doing this longer than any US doctor. He was part of the original FDA trials and has proctored many, many doctors. He's been using Omnipaque for disappearing fills with no problems whatsoever.

It's not all worked out yet....it's looking like we might need another driver in Houston if Jenn lands there, too. I may have to pick up the early AND the late San Antonio arrivals.

Can you imagine how many pages and pages and pages our threads would cover if we all used a font like this?? LOL Ghost tour, huh? If you have any extra drugs I MIGHT go on the ghost tour. Gives me the creeps!!! But it would be fun with you girls. Going to the ALAMO is a requirement for all visitors to Texas. You gotta show your ticket stub to the security officers at the airport or they won't let you on the plane. Lots of people wear T-shirts on the river, too....especially if you're prone to sunburn. Man, those arms, chest and shoulders can get dowright crispy since you're kinda stuck in one position all that time. I did have a horrifying revelation earlier. I can't drink BEER while toobin'!!!! OMG!!!   That's like the ONLY time I drink beer:beer_yum:...on the river and at the beach...and i make up for lost time, lemme tell ya. OMG!!! What will i drink??? There is NO suitable substitue!!!!

Itinerary goes something like this....we can change it around as we wish! Friday afternoon/evening - just hang out on the porch, eat dinner in Gruene, poke around, then go to the Tavern...basically whatever we feel like doin'. We might be kinda tired from all the travelling and want to just decompress a bit. Saturday morning - go toobin' after breakfast. This can be a 2 or 4 hour float, whichever we prefer. Come in, get cleaned up, have lunch then go shopping in Gruene. Saturday night, go boot scootin' at the Gruene Hall (oldest dance hall in Texas)! Sunday morning - have breakfast, pack up, check out by 11:00. We can hang out there or mosey on over to San Antonio. In San Antonio there is so much we can do we'll have to take a vote or something...mostly touring the Alamo and other cool historical neighborhoods and buildings, walk on the River, eat Tex-Mex in the Mercado and drink! Sunday night we could go on a ghost tour!! (Anyone brave enough?) Monday morning we'll have to find a nice place on the river for breakfast and enjoy some quiet time. Then it'll be time to start saying goodbye :rolleyes2: .

Haydee will probably be taking that IAH group....might want to ask her too. How early do YOU have to get up to arrive in Houston by 9:30??? Good lawd! I'd just leave it the way it is. Michelle can browse around the airport for an hour waiting for you, I'm sure she wouldn't mind! Have breakfast, get a little coffee, go tinkle, find your gate and BAM! Here you are!! Call Haydee who's waiting for you in the cell phone lot, meet her in passenger pick up and BAM! You're on your way to Gruene!! You're on the road and in Gruene by 3:30! Perfect!
