  1. How about graham crackers and margaritas?
  2. Have you been tracking your calories and protein daily? sometimes a week or two doing that will really open your eyes to what you're really eating!
  3. Yes, I do!!!!!!!!:cursing:
  4. LOL ....... I just snorted Berry Propel out my nose!!
  5. LOL!!!!! Maybe you'll convert all us sinners while we're there....but i wouldn't count on it! LOL I'm sooo glad to hear that! Well, duh! Cheese Enchilada and Margarita capital of the WORLD!!
  6. Hi girlz- Yep, I'm a moderator now, too! Ya'll better behave or me and Pammy will crack the whip! Being a moderator isn't that big of a deal; I used to be one on lowcarb.ca. The board is run by volunteers (moderators & Big Alex) and it's their job to help 'keep it clean' by reviewing posts that are reported for breaking the rules, cruising the threads to make sure all have been responded to, welcoming visitors, and moving threads or posts from one area to another. They probably invited everyone with 1000 posts or more...something like that. I'll check in later...busy this morning!! Just wanted to drop in to see if Jenn had any news yet. TTYL!
  7. Is the pain around your port? Port pain is the most intense and most persistent after surgery...the stitches are attached to muscle, y'know. So yeah, continue to take it easy. The port pain can last for 3-6 weeks, but it gets a little better every day!
  8. Gayle, not every doctor recommends such low carb levels. Mine recommends up to 75/day, ideally. That being said, some people are more sensitive to sugar and even artificial sweeteners, especially after a long fast, like overnight. Mandi, it could be that you just need a higher protein breakfast...and some good Fiber as well...to stay satisfied throughout the morning. For example, I have cottage cheese, berries, a little Splenda and I sprinkle it with a bit of granola for fiber and crunch. Fresh foods are always a better choice than protein bars anyway.
  9. Kat - there's no hurry at all.... I'd like to have everybody paid by May 1st, that's all. That's a long way off! I don't have to pay anything until we check out. They're holding our rooms with my credit card, but they won't charge anything until we leave. Same with the Drury in San Antonio.
  10. Am I the only person who hasn't been sick???? Gee whiz you guys! Feel better soon!!!
  11. Pamela - Do you know how to stretch your back? Lay on the floor, knees bent, then drop them very gently to one side then hold for 15 seconds...repeat on the other side and hold. Repeat 10 times. You only want to drop them until you START to feel a stretch...a very gentle stretch. Then, still laying on the floor, pull one knee at a time to your chest...again...very gentle stretch...then both knees. Then you can do a cat stretch...get on all 4's and arch your back like a cat...hold you tummy in firmly...then relax. Repeat that about 5 times. Then while your still on all 4s, gently drop back, arms in front and lower your bottom onto your heels...like a Muslim in prayer...LOL. If you do that routine 2-3 times a day you'll heal much faster!
  12. Tracy ....you look absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!! Yep, you look like a skinny chick now!! You need to go post this in the B&A thread! Your hubby is a cutie-pie, too!! Go Tracy...Go Tracy...Go Tracy:bananapowerslide:
  13. Judy - Congrats!!! You've been working awfully hard and deserve to see some reflection on the scale! Way to go, girlfriend!!! OKAY....drumroll please!!! I want to see some freakin' dancing nanners!!! Yesterday I was 181.8 and today 181.6....so that's 2 days at 181! FINALLY A NEW NUMBER!!!!!!!!!! I haven't seen a new number since October!!! Woooooooo hoooooooo!!! I had an absolute blast at my art clay class yesterday and made 3 pendants! I wish I could photograph them for you but it's almost impossible to photograph silver w/o the fancy camera equipment. The only problem with it is that now I have a whole 'nother new expensive obsession! I'm gonna have to find a way to start selling this stuff to pay for my habit! Arrrrgh! Mom's still in the hospital. She is so damn cranky and is rude to everyone....it's so embarrassing! I had to practically yell at her yesterday....well, I DID yell at her yesterday....and today I feel so bad. My sister is MIA and I'm just getting tired. I'll be checking in.... I'm gonna go hammer some metal!
  14. Good morning girls- Kat - you are just in constant motion, aren't you? Sounds like a great ride you had. I don't LOVE horses....they scare me....but I did go to a guest ranch with DD in Buena Vista and had a nice time. Went on 2 rides and that was enough...I had a great old mare who was sweet and sure footed as she could be, but this old body could not take it! 3 hours and I was screaming to get off that horse! LOL But the beauty you are able to observe by horseback is incomparable. I remember the beauty of the aspen forests, babbling brooks and incredible vistas. I remember the intense quiet, the swift change in weather, and feeling the power of my horse beneath me as she'd climb steep rocky trails. I love Colorado so much and my short time on horseback etched it even deeper within my heart. <sigh> Pamela - so glad you are back! Maybe you jumped iinto Jazzercise just a little too quickly....doing too much too fast. That's one thing about being in a class...it's a double edged sword: you try to keep up with everyone else even when you're not so well equipped to do so...but it's hard to make yourself slow down. When is your next gyno appt?? You've got to do something about that! Are you taking iron supplements? Laura - I feel ya sista. The only advice I have for you is to calmly explain that your feelings are hurt and you would prefer that you stick to your original plans of dinner and a movie. Leave it at that and if he invites his brother over anyway, go get a facial and a pedicure instead. Demanding stuff seems to only make them dig their heels in even more and creates such tension. After all, he did get you a beautiful bracelet! Just food for thought. Sometimes its just easier to release your expectations. I hope it works out for you. I jumped all over DH for playiing 15 hours of golf last weekend. So today he's not playing and I feel bad...it's a beautiful 75 degree, sunny day but he's not playing  He does have lots of yardwork to catch up on....and I hope he does it, but I won't be saying a word!! Judy, your life doesn't sound boring at all if it makes you happy!!! You have a very full schedule it seems to me! I have a jewelry class today that I'm very excited about. It's called Art Clay or Precious Metal Clay. It's what it sounds like! Clay!....except that it's made with real silver suspended in a clay material. You can cut it, stamp it, shape it, set stones in it, etc....then fire it in a kiln and the clay melts away and you're left with a sterling silver piece! I can't wait! Been wanting to take this class for a loooong time. Also, I started on a bracelet last night that is going to be sooooo cute when I finish it.... I can't wait to show you guys but it will be awhile. It's a big project! OH, and I weighed 182.0 this morning....that elusive 181 is coming closer and I sure do hope I see it tomorrow! We will have one helluva banana fest around here if I do. Mom's (supposedly) getting out of the hospital today so I'll be checking in tonight. Oh, and because of that my valentine's dinner with my husband had to be cancelled. We were scheduled to go to the nicest restaurant in town. Oh well, ... another time. Ya'll have a good day.
  15. In this case DON'T do what Judy did!!
  16. Well, you don't say when you were banded or how many fills you've had or when you're last fill was...but just judging by what you said, yes, it sounds like you need a fill. Beyond that, and speaking from experience, once I give myself 'permission' to eat crap, it's hard to get back on track. Especially with the band because you can eat crap and not gain weight! (won't lose it either!) What happens with me is that my nutritional goals just go to hell and no way am I getting enough protein and fiber while I'm eating this way. It takes me awhile, but I eventually get it back together. That is much harder for some people than others...namely binge eaters and emotional eaters. You know what to do, I'm not going to lecture you. But the motivation has to come from within yourself thru self-examination and a re-defining of your goals. Being a part of a support group like LBT is immensely helpful. Be patient with yourself... it's a long and bumpy road. Best of luck to you
  17. Flouro is like an x-ray. You stand in front of the machine while you take a little drink of barium (no taste) and the tech can watch it go down ... if it goes straight into the pouch without stopping you're too loose. If it pauses before going in, you're just right. If it barely dribbles going in, you're too tight. Sorry to sound like a broken record, but everyone is different! You may feel a great deal of restriction with 1cc.... or you may feel nothing at all. It is best to err on the side of caution as far as your eating goes....small portions, chew well, mushies for a couple of days, etc. The main thing to remember is if you feel any pain at all while you're eating....STOP!! Don't take another bite and do not drink anything until that feeling passes. Good luck! You're on your way!
  18. So what you're saying is that it's much more suited to wine or 'ale' rather than Crystal Lite. :tongue2:
  19. Spivak is awesome. I wouldn't go to anyone else in Houston. He and his staff are always available for you 100%. No problem getting fill appointments either....a big plus!
  20. I started at 215 and lost steadily until i hit that 6 month wall I always hit weighing 185. I've only lost 2# in the last 5 months but the scale IS still moving in the right direction. My advice is to do all you can within that first 6 months....because after that it gets much harder. In total, I've lost 32#....33 to go.
  21. You'll be interested to see this poll I did awhile back....91% of 368 people said they'd do it again. 91%!!! I think that's incredible. If I had to have my band removed for any reason I'd be heartbroken! I LOVE MY BAND.
  22. Hi everyone! Jenn, I know you're busy...but we sure are anxious to hear about the job!? Kat - He's in prison, right? GOOD! If he wasn't I'd find some way to get his ass kicked. Hopefully he gets it kicked about every 3 days where he is. I'm sorry about your tooth and all the rest of it! But hey, if my son can survive having 10 teeth pulled in one day, you can take it!! Yep. 10. I was far more of a wreck than he was...he did fine...and $8000 later  he has beautiful straight teeth! Mom's not doing so good. I am now starting to wonder if she'll even get to come back to my house when she gets discharged (IF she ever gets discharged!). She's not getting out of bed at all now and tonight I had to feed her! That's a first. More tests tomorrow. :tt1: On a good note....I went to get a fill today. My doctor was in so he did it. I haven't seen him since my surgery since he has PA's that do his fills. But anyway, it was good to see him ...he's so nice!! I'd lost 5# since my last fill in SEPTEMBER and he was pleased with that! He's happy as long as the scale is moving in the right direction, no matter how long it takes. Anyway, we did the fill under fluro and sure enough, I was loose. Before the fill the Fluid was going right thru and I had a solid lunch 1 hour before my fill! So I'm excited to see if the added restriction will help me out now. I sure hope so. Judy - you're gonna be one buff granny!! DANG! Pam! OMG! I bet you freaked out those people! They're probably wondering how & why you just waltzed back to your table good as new! Sorry about the massive PB....those are so bad. You better baby that band for a little bit. What about your knee? Long, long day at the hospital. I think I'll take a hot bath and head for the sack. Love you guys....XOXOXO
  23. Yeah. What Tracy said.:confused2:
  24. Is that kinda like "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall?"
