After hearing the suggestion here on LBT, I use Papaya enzymes to help get stuck food unstuck. You get them anywhere they sell supplements. They're usually used to assist in healthy digestion. They're handy to keep in your purse and they actually do work pretty well...when I remember that I have them! You chew them up ...they have a minty taste. Not unpleasant at all. Awesome to hear the progress you're making with your PS, Kat!! That must be really, really exciting for you! I know how much it means to you!

Tracy - I am sooooo sorry that I have been so freaking self-absorbed that I haven't even wished you well nor even taken the time to send a card. This, however, does not reflect the level of my affection for you!! I do wish you all the best and I'm so happy that you have a fun celebration and honeymoon planned! You deserve all the happiness in the world! We'll be thinking of you and sending you lavender power (in this case) and wishing we could all be there in person to make asses out of ourselves. tee hee. BEST WISHES TRACY AND CHARLES!!!!

Don't worry .... a couple of weeks before I will get all those details from you guys and we'll nail down the particulars. It's not unusual for airlines to start making adjustments to their schedule as summer approaches....it is likely to happen quite a bit in the next couple of months.

Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here
I read this awhile ago and it sure did hit home!! This explains my attitude lately. Maybe it also explains the brownies.... Old Age, I decided, is a gift. I am now, probably for the first time in my life, the person I have always wanted to be. Oh, not my body! I sometime despair over my body, the wrinkles, the baggy eyes, and the sagging butt. And often I am taken aback by that old person that lives in my mirror, but I don't agonize over those things for long. I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've aged, I've become more kind to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend. I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so avante garde on my patio. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant. I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging. Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM and sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60&70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love ... I will. I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set . They, too, will get old. I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things. Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect. I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver. As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore. I've even earned the right to be wrong. So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day. (If I feel like it)

Abdominal pain
Try some Gas-X or Pepto Bismol just as an experiment and see if that helps.

Man, do you know how many calories are in ICING??? :smile2:

Second fill - need some advise..please
This is not necessarily true. There are many various 'reactions' to fills. After several myself, I've finally figured out that I get progressively tighter and tighter for about 2 weeks and then stabilize at a comfortable level ...IF I haven't mistreated my band in the meantime. I would suggest that yes, call your doctor, but in the future stay on liquids and mushies for a few days and tread very lightly into the world of solid food. If you experience pain or PB, then back off again to mushies for another day.... if after 2+ weeks you are still having peristent problems you may want to consider an unfill. That's my $.02!

Omnipaque
I have Omnipaque in my band and my doctor is one of the leading lapband surgeons in the country (has been involved since the first FDA trials). The band was initially filled with saline, according to protocol but by the time i went in for my 2nd fill I had lost 0.4cc of fluid. Dr. Spivak regularly fills with omnipaque to avoid this issue and suggested I do the same. I have not had ANY fill "disappear" since we started using it.

how long?
you might want to trek on over to the insurance area and do a search for 'tricare" See if this link will take you there...
-
Swimming after surgery???
My doc said a minimum of 4 weeks. Better check with yours to make sure.

Abdominal pain
How long has the pain persisted? Could it just be a bowel thing? Are you possibly constipated? Have you tried Gas-X?

What a GREAT friend!! I eat that same oatmeal every...single...day! I love it! But I make it with milk, then add Splenda and omega oils to it. By the time I'm done with it it adds up to about 400 calories...but it is a healthy 400 calories so i don't dwell on it. God only knows what's in those Little Debbie things. Just back away!
