Feeling Guilty!!
Yeah, probably everyone on this board! On the other hand... should a diabetic feel guilty for taking insulin? Should a man with one leg feel guilty about wearing a prosthesis? Should a woman with high blood pressure feel guilty about taking medication? .... you get the idea....

I remember being groggy like that ...couldn't breathe... and felt like I had a hot iron poker in my gut!!! Yeeowww!!! It took me hours to completely come out of the anesthesia. I couldn't stay awake!! Glad that's all behind me! Congrats to your sister!! She can be a violet now!! I'll bet she's excited! ... well, maybe not at this moment...but soon! Is she in Mexico?

Shrink'n Violets TIP 'O THE DAY!!
A recent study showed that thinking about what you ate at lunch before eating an afternoon snack resulted in an average 14-pound weight loss. That's how powerful simple awareness is. Such awareness is the best friend we can have in creating a new habit. It's like the pause button on the TV. With awareness, the impulse to behave in the old way arises and we get to decide what course of action we're going to take. What would be the outcome of yelling at my child? Am I going to be happy later if I drink this now? Will it help me to be more organized if I just throw this on the floor of my closet? This pause doesn't even take very long. Someone once told me it only takes a half second. It's all about pushing the pause button long enough to create freedom of choice. --M.J. Ryan, www.mj-ryan.com nb: This is the same principle that makes '100 calorie packs' so successful. Reaching the bottom of the bag forces you to pause then decide if you want more. 90% of the time (hopefully) you'll decide against opening another bag. Interesting, eh?

I love Mr. Willy Nilly, too! But this is the guy who I most identify with--> :tt2: I dunno...I think we're just all gonna report on May 1st, I guess. I've got all the starting weights, but they're at the office. I'll give them to Laura....she's our statistician!

Tracy, I'd stick with warm fluids and mushies for as long as you think you need to...up to two weeks! My fills make me progressively tighter over that long of a period. Not this fill, but the one I had in September, was horrible at first and I kept irritating the hell out of it...which made it worse!!! This last fill I was prepared! I stayed on liquids and mushies (and small quantities!) for 2 full weeks and then I was fine introducing solids very slowly and carefully. I have a definite hard time getting cold fluids in in the morning...until I drink my coffee...then I'm ok. Pam, never having done a dissertation (!), what is so sucky about it?? Gosh, just think how great you'll feel when you're done!! We'll all just call you Dr.P.! Woooo Hooo!! Gruene Violets: I sent you all an email asking you to help me with a spreadsheet for travel arrangements. When you get a minute, please fill it in. Thanks!

Gruene Violets
You all should be receiving an email from me that invites you to 'collaborate' on a Google spreadsheet. I'd like you to plug in your flight information for me on this spreadsheet and update as necessary. Thank you!!

ok, Laura's officially feeling better!! yea!! --------------- peeps, ya'll are trying to cram a lot of activity into a short weekend, in my opinon....but then again I like my vacations to take a slow pace, so maybe it's just me. Saturday is toobin', lunch, great shopping, drinks, dinner, then boot-scootin'. OR...we could do boot-scootin' on Friday night, I suppose. Michelle - you want spa services...on Saturday? When? This is just a small town, but here are your choices: This spa service will come to you in Gruene: http://www.whitecranemassageandspa.com/bedbreakfastgruene.htm Map of spa services in New Braunfels As for Tattoos on Sunday... If we drive over, eat lunch, do walking tour of San Antonio, stop to rest, have dinner, then some who want to do the ghost tour....when do you propose to get 5-6 ladies tattoo'd?? I'm not having any luck convincing Weldon to open his shop on Sunday for us, so you would have to go somewhere 'blind'. I wouldn't do that for a million bucks...but, hey!...again, that's just me! Give me your thoughts.

(((Laura))) I don't know what to say other than i hope things go better today. Thank you for checking in, you know how worried we are. :sneaky: Tracy, ask them to check the fill under fluro if they don't volunteer. It gave me some peace of mind when i was in your position...sure enough, I had lots of room for a fill. The occasional PB's were because i was rushed or not chewing (you know the drill). Hey, do you know how much fills are after our year is up? Michelle - You sound like me, too. Although this contest is going to help me (I think). Not that I'm such a competitive person but it will just help me keep my head in the game, y'know? I think the best thing we can do is stay engaged here on LBT....don't drift away when you're feeling like a failure. Keep posting, posting, posting. We'll all get thru the ups and downs together....and there are no winners and losers....we're all just doing the best we can! I'm in a real quandry over whether or not to talk to my sister about the confrontation she had with my Mom last week. Mom said yesterday that sister was 2" away from her face screaming at her...and must have said 5-6 times what a bad mother she was!!! (WHAT????????) I've seen bad mothers and mine was WAY FAR from it. She was an awesome mother! Maybe not June Cleaver but she's a very sweet and gentle person, always laughing and gracious. I just don't get it at all. Why in the world would my sister say such things....and WHY NOW?? She could have easily given my mother a heart attack. And if I say anything to her about the whole ordeal (like she owes Mom an apology) guaranteed she'll go off on me, too. Then it will really be a big mess. My mom could go tomorrow, y'know? And I just hate that this is hanging over her. My sister owes her an apology, dammit!! As it is, she is just acting like nothing ever happened. Although my mom would never admit it, she has to be hurt to the core. Just makes me so very, very sad.

Kat - I'm so sorry about Manda's situation. Is she holding up alright? And they're both staying with Kinsey's dad? Are Manda and Ryan going to stop seeing each other as well or just stop living together? So sad. I guess they tried what they could with Lindzie, huh? Kid needs to be in some serious counseling. Haydee - Glad you're better. Did you get some work done today? I don't know what to think about Laura! Worries me that she hasn't checked in. I'll call her tomorrow morning if we haven't heard anything. I had 1200 calories today and 48g protein: B: oatmeal L: cottage cheese/blueberries/granola S: low-fat cheddar D: Fr Onion Soup and 1/4 of Jason's turkey wrap; vanilla froz yogurt

Get this: I have a dear friend whose son is a tattoo artist here in HOuston. I asked him if he knew any good artists in San Antonio or New Braunfels (Gruene) and he gave me two names!...both in San Antonio. One of them is close to the hotel, i think. If ya'll are serious about tattoos, I better give them a call and find out if they can do you guys on a Sunday! Let me know! [note to self: Weldon at Mr., Lucky’s on St. Mary’s (link: Mr. Lucky's Tattoo - Tattoos) in San Antonio. Dustin thinks he’s good. His second choice is Sean at Perfection Tattoo, also in San Antonio. Oh, is that how they do it? I thought it was the percentage of weight needed to lose to reach goal. I don't watch the show, so i don't know.

Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here
Oh, speaking of goal weights for the contest... To make it fair I'm adjusting mine to a more reasonable goal of 152, rather than 165. 165 is more like a "personal" goal. According to the tables, 152 is my "ideal" body weight. Better Ideal Weight Body Calculations Wish Laura would check in! i called and left a message about an hour ago.

Ok so how does this work? You just walk into any tattoo parlor with 8 women and say we each want a tattoo?? Wouldn't that take like hours?? LOL
