Makes a delicious winter supper." Pammy - did you have a better day today? I hope so, I hate days like that...especially MONDAYS! Yuck. TracyM - That's a shame about your friend...Frankly I think a person would have to be half crazy to have a bypass...it's just so PERMANENT! But I sure do understand being desperate! Is Robby better today? Try not to fret...he'll get better....for awhile. LOL You're a great mom, there's no doubt about that. TracyK - glad you're feeling better today. Judy - sounds like the cruise was awesome!! Apparently your mistake was that you took the bracelet OFF!!? Laura - You're doing just GREAT with your quit! Just remember, "It's an urge, not a command!" I'm really proud of you! Let me know how the pumpkin soup turned out... I love pumpkin pie and bread. If anyone wants a good Italian sausage soup recipe with good veggies in it, let me know. I found an easy, delish recipe. Hero sez "Hai Evrbawdi"

PF CHang's is one of my favorite restaurants, too!! YUM. Once again, Laura.... you have very unique taste buds! I can tell you a little about gold/value. Today it's trading at $784.50/Troy oz. There are 20 pennyweights/troy oz. This website (GOLD PRICES | PRICE OF GOLD | GOLD MARKET | GOLD PRICES USA | CURRENT GOLD PRICES | JEWELRY PRICES) is paying $16.63 for 14K/pennyweight which is less than half of the bare market price for gold bouillon ($39.23/pennyweight)... but may be as good of a deal as you will find. $784 /oz of gold is not as high as it has been recently.... I think it was pushing $1000/oz within the last few weeks. Might want to hold onto it awhile longer....the value of gold and silver goes up as the economy goes south. If Obama gets elected, you can pretty much count on the economy going south! (Sorry-- it's just the truth.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAYDEE!! I've been thinking about you and the wedding this weekend! I'm so glad ya'll let them party on...how cool! The weather was picture perfect for it, eh? I think I finally wore my dog out this weekend. We went to the bark park yesterday and today, and he's been sleeping since about 4:00! He never sleeps this much! LOL I dabbled in some jewelry--a couple pieces are in my shop. Haydee, I finished your necklace and it will be in the mail to you tomorrow. I really, really don't feel like going to work tomorrow!! I have no complaints about the job itself or the people, I just HATE getting up and trying to think of what to wear!!? That's the worst part. If I could just throw on some capri's and a Tshirt I'd be one happy little worker bee! Nighty-night. I'm pooped today, too.

Hiccups and the Lap Band?
When I get the hiccups I know that it's time to stop eating. It's my 'soft stop' signal. If I eat more than a couple more bites, then I KNOW I'm going to pay for it with a PB.

I am confused and need help to understand
The first thing that popped into my head reading your post is that if I had that predicament, I'd pack a small ice chest every morning with healthier foods (my favorites like cottage cheese & berries, cheese sticks, a peanut butter sandwich, seafood or chicken salad, fruit cups, etc.). You don't really kettle chips and ice cream will get you where you want to be, do you?

Is this restriction?
You have a couple of choices... 1) you can get a slight unfill or 2) you can get more creative with your meals When I'm feeling really tight I'll have vegetable Soups or cottage cheese with pureed fruit. I'll mince up chicken and add it to hot and sour Soup or steam the heck out of vegetables, being always careful not to eat any fibrous stems. I've never been able to eat chicken wings...or any kind of fried chicken (for some reason). It could be you are feeling so full because of it's rubbery texture and it's just getting stuck. This is just a time when you'll have to start experiementing with different foods. But you are right to be concerned about proper nutrition...it's so important especially when you are eating so little.
-
What does your restriction feel like?
Being restricted just feels like a fullness 'above' your stomach....the point beyond which if you eat more you will possibly spit some up. Good restriction will also cause you to reject food that is not chewed well or eaten too quickly. Don't worry...when you're properly restricted...you'll know it!

How long have you kept the weight off?
I've maintained 182 for about a year with no problem. It's not my preferred weight, but the weight my BODY prefers! The band is a wonderful tool to help you lose and maintain weight loss, but there certainly are ways to eat around it if you so desire! Milk shakes go down super easy!
