  1. I almost fainted a couple of weeks ago when I had one of those trips -- cost $280 and my basket was not even FULL!! Groceries have just gotten ridiculous. I can only imagine what this is gonna cost you, Michelle! YIkes. That had to be the worst sight in the world. I'm so sorry for the parents...just heartbroken. We'll say a prayer for your sister! Gosh! You didn't metnion that before, did you? TracyK - Hero has been just wonderful to cuddle with! His coat is like silk and he gets a bath every weekend, so he's always smelling sweet. He LOVES to be cuddled so it works out good for all of us. That's one of the main reasons I like big dogs....the cuddle factor! We're all just crazy about him and he's spoiled rotten.
  2. Tracy - I got my flying monkey, too!!! I had to laugh! Hero has been trying to get it from me all night -- I finally had to lock it up in my room! Those are just toooo cute! You are so sweet. Judy - Love the lights...especially the back yard. What a great idea to leave them up year round. Haydee? You ok??? When I'm under a lot of stress I get crippling indigestion and I take an Rx for it called Donnatal. Is your pain above the band or below? Kat - glad you're back in business with your earrings and are enjoying them again. :cursing: Pamela - How are you doing today? Did you get your plans done? Hugs to you. I've been thinking about you all day! Michelle - did you meet your deadline? 14 pages in 20 minutes. Can you really work that fast? Laura - I love seeing pics of you. You're so photogenic...but they make me miss you  Anyone heard of the book, The Shack? I haven't heard of it but my girlfriend is sending it INSISTING that I read it pronto.
  3. Hi all -- Judy - I was expecting some drama from your church meeting! No good gossip to report or nothin'?? Well, I guess you're good Christians by "not saying anything at all" if there's nothing positive to say! I didn't get sick after all, thank goodness! So I'm here at work, but not actually working. LOL Not much to do today except start working on the 400 Xmas cards I need to get addressed! YUCK YUCK YUCK!!! The only things I have to make for Thanksgiving (at my in-laws house) this year is Gumbo and a chocolate toffee trifle. My DH requested the Gumbo...guess he thought it would be nice to have a cup while watching football. And the trifle is just something I've always wanted to make, but never have. No matter what desserts we bring, they all get scarffed up! LOL Didn't do a dang thing on my jewelry this weekend except put together and take it apart again...twice! UGH. I wish I had some art classes or something to help with my creativity. Maybe I'll research some books that will help train that side of my brain (is it left, or right?). Well, off to do Xmas cards...... Ya'll have a good morning!
  4. Hi Pam - I'm thinking of you sweetie. I can relate to what you said about waking up crying when you realize "he's still dead"...that really hit home for me, cause that's exactly what it feels like. I wish it were just a bad dream but it's not and it sucks. It just hit me today that this will be my first Christmas ever that I haven't been with my mom! That's a weird feeling. I'm sorry honey. I wish I was there. (((Hugs))) xoxo. Ok, I definitely want to get some of that body butter. My skin is RIDICULOUSLY dry (thank you, menopause!!). I use Eucerin lotion, which is heavy duty in and of itself...but I add Keri oil to it!! Can you believe that? So I need a really oily body creme. So you get the body butter, right? And I hate real sweet scents (vanilla, rose, etc. YUCK) I like earthy, citrus-y, or musky scents. Thanks for the tip, Kat. Plus, I've vowed to buy all hand-made gifts this year (it's an Etsy thing), so I'll get some from her, too. I took Hero to the bark park this morning then went to the mall with my daughter to find a purse. I'm SO picky about my purses because I buy one 2x a year and that's it. I'll carry this one until May! So I did find one and ON SALE so I'm happy...but tired! I've been in a MAJOR MAJOR creative rut and can't seem to get happy with any jewelry I make the last couple of weeks. Not to happy about that! I'll try again this evening. I feel like I'm coming down with a cold or something and I haven't been sick at all for like 6 years!! I'm such a baby about going to work sick, too. I might just call in tomorrow. I NEVER do that! I'll talk to ya'll later.... xoxo
  5. Pam, thanks for popping in. I know when my mom was stroking and in the ER, after things settled down a bit texting my Violets was the first thing on my list....THEN I texted my best friends of 30 years! (((Big hug))) Oh, and I just saw your text about your dad 30 minutes ago. My phone was on silent last night...sorry I didn't see it last night. Sorry Haydee!!! That's a bunch o' stuff to be dealing with. And there's nothing worse than having to be at the office on a beautiful day like today! :smile2: Jenn - good to see you!
  6. Lots of sad news as I wake up on this beautiful morning here in Houston. Pamela - my sweet friend - my heart is aching for you as I know you are devastated by this news of your father's passing. You thought you had a little more time :smile2: He was just ready, I suppose....and is finally free. There is some comfort in that, I know. My deepest sympathy to all of your family. Know that we love you and are holding you in our hearts. Denise - Your situation is every mother and grandmother's nightmare. I don't even know what to say. I know you have explored every avenue there is, I'm sure. Addiction is so horribly tenacious...my heart goes out to you. What I can offer you is a shoulder to cry on and lots of prayers. You are a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother and I am very, very proud of your strength and courage. We'll be here for you in any way we can. You know that. ((Hugs))
  7. Tracy?? Did you drown in enchilada gravy????
  8. 18 DEGREES??!?!:scared2::laugh::scared2:
  9. Mae!! Congratulations -- that's an awesome feeling isn't it!! Way to go!!!!!!! TracyK - I think that's pretty normal after an illness like yours. The body over-compensates for being dehydrated and it takes a couple days for things to level out again. Enchiladas are not recommended!!! LOL Just take a deep breath and go out and enjoy our brisk weather today! I wish I could lend Hero to you for the day....he'd get you outside for sure! Laura - you might ask your dr. or pharmacist if you might be having a reaction to your vitamins, esp. the iron?? Otherwise, I'd go get tested.....get to the bottom of it. Something's not right. Pam - You went to the GYM?? Are you kidding? After the week you've had? You're better than me!! I've got the expense account from hell to get thru today. My poor boss travels like a crazy man and I've got receipts piled up on my desk. Better get to it. Laterz.
  10. TracyK - try to get some Pedialyte today and sip on it all day 'til you get at least a liter in. 2nd best is Gatorade or something like that. Then GO BACK TO BED!!!!
  11. Ugh, Tracy! The last time I was sick like that I literally thought I was going to die....it was a bug I caught from my daughter. I ended up with some suppositories because I couldn't keep any oral meds down! I called a neighbor to go to the pharmacy for me and, bless her heart, she did. She practically threw the meds in the front door 'cause she didn't want to get whatever I had! I hope you feel better in the morning!
  12. No Tracy, huh? Ugh, she must be SICK!
  13. We always have two stuffings at our Thanksgiving -- I love 'em both!
  14. :rolleyes2:(((((((((Tracy)))))))))):tongue2: You'll be ok!! Sorry, girlfriend!
  15. Tracy - Any final word on the settlement???? Have you booked our trip to Tahiti yet?? Judy - I don't recall you mentioning a son that was disabled I'm so sorry. You must have had some very rough times with him. I worry so often about my son's future with his bipolar disorder....but schizophrenia is a whole other ball o' wax. Does he take medication and see a doctor? I'm sleepy. S'probably the M&M's I had for 'dessert' awhile ago. <yawn> <zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz>
  16. Way to get mad, Sunshine!!! Woooooooo hooooooooo!

  18. Pam - Sorry you're feeling worse. I have a rule about waiting for doctors: 20 minutes I give them a warning that I will only wait 10 more minutes. If those 10 minutes go by then I leave. A handful of times it has gotten me in and other times I had to leave and reschecule....BUT I feel better about 'taking my stand'. Kat - what kind of car did they get?
  19. I have so many favorite desserts it would be hard to pick one. Anyone want my list??? I didn't think so..... Michelle, I'd be in BIG trouble if I lived in your house, that is for sure.
  20. I've never quite understood why they'd need camo underwear....??? Hmmmmm. Oh, I love those calf massage thingies. Maybe I'll get one for DH (and myself! :smile2:) for Xmas.
  21. Haydee - I order the hunting gear (gifts) for the deer lease we have at my company. This year the guys are all excited about the Bushnell Back Tracker we have. Maybe you and your sisters can go in on a range finder for him...those can be used for golf AND hunting. They love camo anything!!....shirts, jackets, tshirts, vests, even long underwear! They can never have enough camo. Wierdos.
  22. Hi Everyone, This is my definition of hell: Taking my 18 y.o. son shopping for clothes. I was in hell today and it's not pretty. Jane, I pay $35-45 for a haircut and blow-dry. I do my own highlights but I think they run about $75 for a pull-thru cap (that's why I do my own for about $6!). For Xmas hints: I like Japanese Cherry Blossom from Bath and Body works (YUM). I like ANYTHING handmade from Etsy....especially little notecards, pottery pendants (love this seller)....Oh wait, as a matter of fact, I have an Etsy wishlist all ready (click here) How easy is that!!? I'm constantly adding things to my 'favorites' list. I'll have to refer all my friends to it that are asking for hints! Tracy, no I never did get that fill. Just when I think I'm gonna do it I seem to get tight again! I guess I'll coast for awhile. Sure wish I'd lose some weight. Speaking of which....KAT! Why are you so concerned about your weight and trying to be good, etc? You're SKINNY for cryin' out loud!! Surely you're not trying to lose more?! Pam - think you'll be able to go to work tomorrow? Hope you're feeling better :wink2: Is your throat still sore? Oh, and I did like you suggested....I took a Tylenol PM last night and slept HARD for 8 solid hours. it was BLISS!! (Did you know that's only Tylenol mixed with Benadryl?! LOL Yeah, my doctor told me that ....check the label!) Well, I guess I'll see what's on TV. It gets dark so dang early! It's hard to get used to. I'm like sleepy at 8:00 and have to make myself stay up! Laterz!
  23. Hey everyone! TracyK - What malls are filing Chapter 11? I hadn't heard that. Pammy, sorry youre sick  Sure seems like you've been sick a lot since school started. Burning the candle at both ends will do that to ya!! (Not to mention being around a bunch of snotty rug rats all day, every day!) Been meaning to ask you...why does Susanne go all the way to the commissary to get her hair cut??! Dang! Must be some special hair dresser!? I understand though. I haven't had a good one since 1994! Kat, Becky's husband sure sounds sick!! It must be a parasite of some sort! Those can be terrible! Let me know...I'm curious. I sure hope he's better soon! Sounds like he should have gone into the hospital about a week ago!! Yikes! Ever have one of those days where you're busy all day...to the point of exhaustion...and don't know what the hell you did all day?? That's me today. Can't really tell you what I did, but I sure was busy! :-/
  24. Kat - I can't BELIEVE the nerve of your aunt in writing that letter!!!? WTF? But I guess 'back in the day' it was an insult to get a typewritten letter...but still....to slap your wrist for it was pretty far out of line! I would have a hard time restraining myself too...good luck with that! Oh, BTW, I got your earring made I just keep forgetting to get it in the mail! Duh!! Laura - OMG, you have your tree up already?? Sending out gifts already??? I wish I could get some of that enthusiasm. It's been many years since I was actually excited about Xmas. It's just one great big hassle to me. Isn't that pitiful? I think if I could have someone come in and magically transform my house with the tree and decorations, etc. (like when I was a KID) my attitude would be much better. I actually don't mind the shopping...it's the decorating! <shrug> TracyinKS - how're the pills working for you? Feeling any different yet or will it take some time to build in your system? Lexapro works from Day 1....yeee haw! That was nice: Instant Happy. Michelle - have things slowed down for you at all? Or are you still going 100 MPH? How's the blues you were dealing with? Judy - try to control yourself today!! I wish I could come! Janie - don't work too hard. Haydee - whatchu gonna do today? Probably a nap at some point, eh? Do ya'll have any weddings booked around Xmas? Any bridezillas lately? Suzie - what's the weather like? Do you get to slow down a bit today? The weather is going to be beautiful here today....as it has been for like the last 6 weekends! High of 68 and breezy. Yum! Might actually get to wear a sweater! Nothing else going on really. I'm just going to hang at the house and try to get some jewelry done. I am so STUCK lately!
  25. Janie - meant to say that I took a little vacation from my anti-depressants to see if would help with my weight-loss stall. It took about 4-5 weeks but my depression came roaring back just like the old days. I don't have it real bad, but enough to make me pretty miserable. It was an interesting experiment anyway. Oh, and NO, it didn't help with my stall either.
