  1. If you Google "weight gain paxil" you'll see lots of articles like this one: Paxil and Weight Gain FYI, I take Lexapro and weaned myself off to see if it would help me with my weight loss 'stall'....and it did not. My dr. told me that Lexapro is the best one for avoiding weight gain. It might help, but you'll gain it right back when you get back on the pill. I think the hormones in the pills cause you to gain Water weight.
  2. It's not a proud day for me!! I have never, ever been so depressed over an election in my adult life. You can mark my words and take note....we will ALL be worse off 4 years from now as we are today. I know it as sure as I know the sun will rise tomorrow. I'm gonna 'check out' for awhile and let you all celebrate ....... I just can't take it.
  3. I don't know, but I think it's your duty.....and besides, just think of ALL THE "OTHER" PEOPLE who didn't need to show ID!? LOL You might be doing us all a big fat favor!
  4. Laura, I looked it up and ID (photo or non-photo) is supposed to be required in Alabama. You should report it. ID required to vote in certain states - CNN.com
  5. THIS IS WHY: [ame= ] [/ame] Makes me downright queazy.
  6. This does NOT give me a warm & fuzzy feeling.:tongue:
  7. I'm talking about when I was pregnant....so yeah, that was LONG time ago....with my now-ex husband.
  8. Laura - you're a moderator now? More power to ya!! You go!
  9. TracyinKS - Hmmm...I had a small hernia once, about the size of a quarter but it just went away, I guess. But you're right that you prolly need to get it checked out. Did you google it to see what you could find out? Laura - l loved the youtube vid. He makes some very interesting points! Refreshing, too. Sorry you had such a crappy day...sounds like some of mine sometimes. I remember when I was about as pregnant as you are now, with my first, I had a new car-- 5 days old to be exact. I was going to wash it in the driveway then head out to do some shopping. My DH needed to back his car out a bit so I could get out of the garage, so I hop in my car, and I'm watching him back out of my review mirror while I am also backing out and all of a sudden i hear this CCCRRRRRUUUUUNNNNNCCCCHHHHH. I had forgotten to close my freakin' door and it got caught on the frame of the freakin' garage and just about ripped the freakin' door OFF!!! OMG!!! I cried for hours...inconsolable. My (now ex-)DH was so sweet. He couldn't yell at me 'cause I already felt soooooo bad! What a dumbass move that was.
  10. Hey... who voted early and who has to get out there tomorrow? Gosh, here in Houston I know it will be utter madness...not only at the polling places but just traffic in general. I'm glad I voted early! Soooooo glad!!
  11. Oh, Tracy....I meant to say to please try to not worry about the mammogram. They call you back in for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that looks the eensiest bit suspicious. The chances are overwhelmingly in your favor. I went thru the same scare about 3 years ago and it was nothing. But, considering my mom had breast cancer, it was a very scary few days. Just keep breathing!! The deeper the better!! (((Hugs)))
  12. Heck no, Mae! You don't have to be an April '07 Bandster to be a Violet! We're glad you came out of the closet (so to speak)! Hi! Tracy - Wanna meet me for a fill at Dr. Spivak's?? I think I better get one with the holidays coming up.
  13. Laura - I miss your doggie in your avatar. "What?!" LOL Well, the doc may be an ignoramous when it comes to obesity issues, but at least she gave you a REASON why you're so hungry and validated that it's not just all a big head issue! Maybe it will settle down after a bit. How's your energy level these days? TracyinKS - ((Hugs)) dear. Sorry about the issues with Robby. Does he play sports? Wonder if the influence of a team and/or coach would help shape his attitudes. Thanks for asking about Hero -- he's doing great! Jane - Extra ((((HUGS)))) to you today! I hope its all over real soon. I hate to think of you being so upset. Haydee - loved the costume! Looks like ya'll had a wonderful weekend! Kat - We'll miss you sumpin' awful!
  14. Isn't it crazy? Its easier than making a PB&J sandwich and is delicious!!! The peppers do mellow out considerably after storing the leftovers, so maybe it will be more to your liking today. Great on tortillas, too!
  15. WHY DON'T PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THIS?? I just don't get it...I really don't. I only consider myself of average intelligence but I see this clear as day. Is the rest of the population THAT clueless?? I pray not. We shall see.
  16. THIS is a work of art!!! Pure eloquence! Bravo!
  17. Yikes!! Down girl! (or boy!)
  18. Yeah, Haydee...make it easy on yourself. Get some real pale makeup, frizz your hair way out, put silver streaks in it and some blood dripping from the side of your mouth and call it a day! You'll look FAB. Where's the party? Kat, I was totally kidding about quitting my day job. I've been at it just about all day and am totally STUCK. I started a necklace and can't make it look right....for 2hrs I've been messing with it and still have nothing. At this rate I could never do this for a living! LOL I'm just not very imaginative :smile2: Drives me nuts. -- Will you share your crockpot chili recipe? Laura, stick with high protein, especially for bkfst, and see if it doesn't make a difference. Works for me. Suzie - hope you feel better after you get home tonight.
  19. Hmmm....well, do you could look at greeting card companies online and see what they have for their greetings...might give you a jumping off point
  20. I sent you an email of some purple earrings, Pammy -- that might perk you up!
  21. My favorite line in the margies list is WARNING: The consumption of Margaritas may cause you to tell your friends over and over again that you love them. OMG, this is so me!!! There's one that's not on this list: WARNING: The consumption of margaritas may cause you to believe that calling an ex-lover at 3:00 in the morning is a GOOD idea. LOL! Reminds me that there was once a phone feature that allowed you to program in numbers that you are NOT allowed to call!....LOL....specifically for that purpose stated above. Isn't that hilarious!?
  22. Wow, Michelle -- if that's not a message from above, I don't know what is!!! DO SOMETHING MEANINGFUL FOR YOURSELF!!!!!!!!
  23. Good Morning All Jenn - Good to see you!!! We love you and miss you! TracyinKS - They say that when you take something away from them it has to 'hurt"! So this actually came at a good time with Halloween and all....he's gonna definitely be feeling the consequences! Hopefully, as hard as it is, it will be worth it. My daughter recently needed to be disciplined and it was difficult to come up with a consequence for her!!..she's lost 4 iPods so currently doesn't have one 'cause we refuse to buy another one! Nor does she have a phone because of the same reason. Halloween was all we had....she had a big party to go to tonight and now she can't. Hopefully she will 'feel' it! Hopefully! Oh, yeah, I had much success shopping yesterday! My favorite store is Chico's and that's usually my first stop. I was greeted when I walked in and the saleslady tells me that for the 1st time ever they're having a STORE-WIDE sale...20% off everything in the store! They were just putting up the signs when I got there. Can you believe it??? I also had a coupon for $25 off and my Passport membership gave me another 5% off. I bought something like 15 things...many of which were just cami's and turtlenecks, but I got 4 jackets and 3 other tops too....all of which are GORGEOUS. I was very happy and now I'm DONE! I just need to go to Kohl's and get around-the-house stuff. Hero was ridiculously exhausted last night...we laughed and laughed at him. He had a blast at day care! Today is jewelry day to the max! I've got orders to fill and now I have all these new clothes to make for! Oy! My little shop is pitifully understocked too. Raise your hand if you think I need to quit my day job! Oh, if only.....!!!!
  24. Laura, you probably already know this, but the one food that keeps my hunger at bay is PROTEIN. Cheese, nuts, cottage cheese, pepperoni slices, ham and cheese roll-ups, peanut butter , Carnation SF Instant Breakfast....whatever you can think of....PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN. If I start off my day with a carby breakfast then I'm extra hungry all day long. You're an ex-lowcarber. You know all this. Or at least tell yourself you can even have anything you want as long as it has REAL nutritional value so at least you won't be eating empty calories. (((Hugs))) I understand. Been there, done that!
  25. Ha! Michelle -- that might be you, but I don't consider myself a 'giver'. I'm not a 'taker' either. My mother taught me many things, but what stands out is that she taught me to balance my life -- to do what is important to ME at least as often as I do for others. I consider myself a good employee, mom, wife and friend -- by my own definition of what that is -- but someone from the outside looking in it may not appear that way. But I hear what you're saying and I agree that you do this to yourself! You could do just as well by ordering some pizza or chinese before Halloween and everyone would be just as happy....as Judy says, "Its NOT ABOUT THE FOOD!!"
