1. Kat & Jenn - It's none of my business but I do hope that you'll think very, very carefully about liposuction for 2 reasons: 1) I know of someone who has been permanently disabled (lost her leg) because of having liposuction. Her intestine was punctured resulting in sepsis then gangrene. She almost died....now wishes she had. She's very depressed all the time. She was in and out of the hospital, mostly ICU, for the better part of a year. Liposuction is very dangerous...so much can go wrong. 2) It is quite possible that fat cell removal is not such a wonderful thing. When/if you store fat in the future, the fat cells that are remaining just get bigger. Point being is that if you are 'top heavy' but getting lipo on your tummy/hips...you'll just get top heavier. Please....just do ALL the research. Visit message boards for plastic surgery gone wrong...not just the ones supported by the surgeons. OK? I do believe this sets a record for Lunasa's shortest post!! Glad to see you, dear....and even happier to read that the scale is moving again for you!! Are you feeling all better now? How is the Cimbalta working for you?
2. So why do you do it when you know you're not supposed to? I'm sorry if I'm being rude, but I just don't understand that.
3. Yes, dear....it's call BANDSTER HELL and you're in it. It's the time between surgery and your first fill when you have essentially no restriction. The swelling from surgery has now subsided and you're basically just flappin' in the wind!! Just hang on, try to make good food choices, practice your bandster rules and be kind to yourself. Restriction will come soon enough!
4. Here's my chart.... I'm apparently a 'slow loser'
5. Yes, I can feel mine but can't see it. It kinda creeped me out at first, but not anymore.
6. When does that show come on and what network?? I'd love to see it.
7. I had a pretty good NSV day today. I ran out to try on a few swimsuits at lunch (why eat?) and, as is my habit, went to the 'womens' department. The smallest suits they had were 16w's. I tried on 3 suits and 2 blouses. Everything was TOO BIG! No time to go to the ladies department, but woo freakin' hoo!!! Also, pants I bought a little 'snug' last week fit me beautifully today....Lauren's 14W. I found that my quad muscles are REALLY getting developed...I can really feel them under all this flab. I can't wait to lean out and have muscles there waitiing for me! Also...wasn't sore at all (well, maybe a little) from playing racquetball last night. DH was practically crippled!! Yay me! AND.....I bought some plain Tilapia filets at Sam's...just sauteed them in a pan, put a little lemon, butter, salt & pepper on them...then dusted with parmesan cheese and they were delicious!!! It also went down real easy so I had a good dinner and got my protein in for the day AND found more fish that I actually like. I am thrilled that I am now eating fish at least 5x a week. All in all....not a bad day even if the scale didn't move!
8. Thank you for making me realize that what I am experiencing is NOT being too tight. It might be uncomfortable, but I can get fluids down!! Why in the world would you continue on this way??
9. Maybe.....maybe not! Everyone's different!! I had restriction like that for about 3 days then it went away. TracyK had less than 1cc for her first fill and is going back for a slight UNfill she was so tight. You never know 'til you get there!
10. Yes, Josie -- He just got it, like in May. 2nd fill I got was under fluro. 3rd was not, but I don't know why.
11. I think we pretty much have all had our 1st fills (or those that needed them). I've had 3!!
12. I had my 3rd fill 12 days ago. My restriction seems to be getting tighter and tighter as days go by. I feel like I have been babying it by staying on mushies as best I can, but I do try solids from time to time. I've had many slime attacks and a couple of PB's.

Is it too early to consider an unfill? Is there a chance it will loosen up on its own SOON? Thanks in advance for your help!!
13. This is what is disturbing to me: beef - no ground beef - sometimes filet mignon - sometimes white chicken - no dark chicken - sometimes pork - no bacon - no sausage - no tuna - sometimes other fish - yes shrimp - sometimes crab - no eggs - no toast - no pasta - no rice - no tortillas - sometimes crackers - sometimes cheese - yes, in very small bites fruits - yes, in tiny bites veggies - yes lettuce - yes peanut butter - yes Fish, fruit, veggies, cheese and peanut butter. Can I live on these?? Yes, I suppose I could do real well. It's just WAY different than I'm used to eating. <sigh> Another learning curve!
14. To each his own, is what I say! Wouldn't it be a boring world if we all behaved the same!
15. You will have restriction when there is enough Fluid in your band!! Keep going in for fills....and when you have it, you'll know it!! Congrats on the great loss so far! Sounds like you're doing a great job!
16. Viactiv Caramel Chews -- tastes like candy!! That's MY kind of vitamin!
17. I think it's official. I'm a Slow Loser. Oh well, at least I'm still a Loser!!
18. :happybday::happybday2::happybday: Happy Birthday, Michelle!!! .....and dont forget, today is Pamela's (Kity) 40th birthday!!!
19. I think they do all fills at his office now.
20. Jane, Yes, with some people the fill does just go away. My doc compared it to helium leaving a balloon. There's no 'leak' in the balloon, but the helium escapes anyway. That is why he filled my band with Omnipaque instead of saline on my second fill. It's a type of fluid that is thicker and doesn't escape the band as easily. TracyK - Yeah, it definitely sounds as though you are way too tight. I didn't realize you had been on fluids ONLY since your fill! Tonight I was able to get some fish and green beans down. Earlier I had a protein bar. Maybe things are better. I hate to get an unfill so quickly without really giving it time to settle first, so I'll give it another week.
21. Hi girlz! Thank you all for your encouragement. DH and I did end up driving to Louisiana last night, enjoyed a little gambling (NO, we didn't win), then went dancing at the greatest Zydeco club!! It was so great! We both lived there when we were younger, so in a way it's like going home. Cajuns are such great people...so friendly...and talk about Party Animals!! OMG. Anyway, it was good for us to get away. The kids are back at their dad's for 3 weeks so that will help repair our relationship too. They are great kids, but as with all step families, there are issues that never seem to go away. So yesterday I worked out at the gym for 2 hours, then went dancing for 2 hours last night and sweated my tail off....so I'm counting 3 workouts! On our way home we stopped at the sports store and picked up 2 racquetball rackets. DH has never played and I haven't played since about 1990!! But what a hoot that game is and I think we'll enjoy hitting the ball around every once in a while. Gives me another way to mix up my cardio. We're on our way out the door in just a few. Hope I can walk tomorrow. TracyK - I am having a very hard time with food, too. I am also considering an unfill but no way I can get down to his office next week....so I'll have to limp along for awhile. Remind me....how long have you been feeling this way? And did you try fluids for a day or two? Ugh. This IS getting old....especially when I don't appear to be losing any weight!!! Grrrrrrrr. Later, gators. PS - KAT - I agree with Judy .... your post about Kinsey made my day. Prayer works, eh?! I'm so happy!!!!
22. Tori, this is soooooo true! I'm 3 months out and am practically grossed out when I see people eating mountains of food. I am NOT JEALOUS....I'm excited!! Bandsters told me all this stuff pre-op but I found it hard to believe that it would apply to me too. BUT IT DOES. And it will apply to you as well. I know it's just hard to wrap your head around it now. BTW, it's 2:00p and I've been to the gym for a 2 hour workout and have only had a Protein drink for food so far. In the old days I would have had bacon, eggs, milk (for bkfst) and maybe 3 tacos, rice and Beans (for lunch) by now!!! And work out??? HA!! What a laugh!! I am a different person now and it's all because of the band and LBT. Stick around.
23. Tori - I think most of us have been in your shoes. I'm not going to stroke you here, I'm just going to tell you to push thru your fear and JUST DO IT. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and you WILL BE SO FREAKING GLAD YOU DID. I had to do the same thing. I relied on the wisdom of all the great people here at LBT to get me through that nervousness stage. They were all saying the same thing: "I love my band!" They couldn't ALL be wrong!
24. Oh, Jacqui -- Am I glad they make larger sizes in regular womens here!! I'd be shopping in the fat lady store forever if I lived there! Last time I weighed 150 (my goal) I was in a size 12. Oh, I want to be rid of those fat lady stores sooooooooooooooo badly!! Maybe just another 5 or 8 pounds to go!! I think I need to plan some sort of BIG celebration when that day finally arrives.
25. Only my DH & kids know...and 2 supportive & DISCREET friends. I am very glad I've chosen to keep it a secret. I can always tell people later if I want...but once you tell people, you can't UN-tell them! So I figured better to be safe than sorry.
