  1. Well, Congratulations!!! Yes you are lucky to have found this site. I don't know how anyone gets thru the process successfully without all the wonderful people and information here. Do yourself a big favor and visit often!
  2. A lot of people turn a major corner in about 5-7 days. Give it a little time. One day soon you'll wake up and think "Wow! I feel so much better today!!" You're doing everything right, just hang in there a few more days.
  3. I'm in the same camp as Jacqui. I don't want to 'diet' ever again in my entire life, and I'm not. I do, however, try to make healthy choices considering that I'm not getting a lot of food in....the food I do get should be healthful. I'm also in the camp that says a month-long plateau, or even 2, is not such a horrible or unexpected thing. Panic is not my friend. That being said, I do track my calories (most days) on Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, Food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate. I go to the gym 5x a week. I figure if I'm eating around 1200 calories a day and working out that's the best I can do. If that means the weight will only come off 1/2 pound a week, then so be it. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and evenutally I'll get "there". This attitude of mine prevents fear of failure and all that negative self-talk. As far as the sweet spot goes, I'm still not experienced enough to give much advice about that. I'm struggling a little with this 3rd fill of mine and have only been banded 3 months. Best of luck to you. To me it sounds like you're doing alright!
  4. DROP THE MOUSE AND BACK AWAY FROM THE COMPLICATIONS FORUM!!
  5. JACK!!! Where the heck have you been???
  6. Just remember: Once you tell, you can't UN-tell!
  7. You girlz are not alone! People post like this every single day. We all went through it and came out the other side. What I would suggest is that you just stick around LBT and post like the dickens. READ READ READ all the posts here....but stay away from the complications forum!! It'll just make you nervous and the risk is so very low if you follow the rules. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other 'til you make it thru. Then there's about a week of post-op that can be a little dicey...and then you're home free!!! You won't be sorry. Trust me!
  8. Gym Nazi here: Get your a$$ to the GYM!!! Oh yeah....and WELCOME Denise!! If you wanna hang out with us, you're gonna have to get your A$$ in gear. Just ask these girls here. I'm a gym nazi and proud of it! Gee can ya'll tell I've had a cocktail or two?? Oh, like I am SO confused! I figured we were just killing two birds with one stone!? Why not go with the other LBT girlz?....we can do our own thing. Well, whatevah ya'll think is OK with me. You know it's you girlz I wanna hang with anyway. TracyKS -- would your DBF go on a cruise? I want Jenn to be able to go!! Are you sure there's no drugs you can take for airsickness? 15 mg of valium or something? Crack maybe? :bandit
  9. The details aren't out yet, are they? That would be fast! No doubt I would make an effort to be there.
  10. Well now you USE them as shrub covers!! Don't throw them out!
  11. PLEASE NOTE that she DID have time to check in with LBT!! That's our girl!
  12. I noticed a new one the last few days..... I don't curse when I drop something on the floor....or leave it hoping somebody else would pick it up (of course, they never do!)!!!
  13. Yeah, all of a sudden I had trouble with eggs too. So guess what? I stopped eating them! Try a spring mix salad, soft cooked veggies, bananas, peanut butter, and melons. See how you do with those. I'm finally starting to feel better but it's taken a while! I had fill #3 on June 26 and can eat better now.
  14. That is a hoot about 'not telling your mom' so it must be bad!! Oh, if only my 'wise' words would stick with my kids like that!! And YES, do eat some breakfast....protein is best. Even like Tracy...just a protein shake or a bar is better than nothing. I tried a good one yesterday, South Beach Diet Caramel Peanut Bar. YUM!!! Yeah, Schexy...it was YOU! I couldn't remember who it was that was from Houston. Oh, let's try to get together!! WHEN? Evening after work? Lunch on a Saturday? Coffee in the afternoon??? When is best for everyone? I'm easy.
  15. This is me doing the "I'm-so-happy-Tracy-hit-the-230's" dance!!!
  16. OMG!!!! TRACY'S IN THE 230'S!!!!! :clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::whoo: Bitch slap yourself some more!!!
  17. Where is JUDY??? Is she mad at us? She's always here first thing! Where is PAMELA??? On vacation? NSV for the day: Had to wash jeans in hot water so they would SHRINK! Got into a great blouse that I haven't worn in 2 years.
  18. Yeah, it's a hoot! I used to play in my 20's and always loved it. DH and I play (he's 61) but only for about 20-30 minutes before it kicks our butts. But it sure gets the heart rate up!
  19. You will see this 1000 times or more on this board but I'm gonna say it one more time: This is the best thing I ever did for myself and I LOVE MY BAND! Just do it. You will not regret it.
  20. The chest pain may very well be related to your breathing and lung capacity being impaired by the anesthesia. Your doctor should have recommended breathing exercises for you to do, so make sure you do them. If he didn't, then at the very least here is what you do. Every 2 hours or so take 10 very deep breaths. The first may be a little hard, but they get easier with each breath. This will help immensely. Doing these exercises will help prevent pneumonia. If the pain continues, especially if you are running any kind of fever or have a peristent cough, call your doctor!!
  21. Sounds like you are progressing normally....BUT ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND GOING TO WORK!!????!??!?!? Congratulations on your new band! But PLEASE stay home for the next 3-4 days at least!!!!
  22. I've added racquetball to my list now!
  23. Josie -- we are pretty close to each other! I work near I-10 and Highway 6! We should meet for a drink some night...or uh....coffee! I live on the NW side, near Barker Cypress & West Road...but you prolly don't know where that is. Hell, we could have our own Violet support group in Houston. I think there's 4 of us here, right? Haydee, me, Josie and TracyK. Maybe Househuntress too? Who else? TracyK -- My husband would NEVER let me go to Vegas without him! I was definitely planning on bringing him! I'll bet our guys would have fun meeting each other too! Wouldn't it be funny if we went to a restaurant together?? The guys would all order meals and the girls would all be ordering appetizers! The waiter would think we're some sort of penny-pinching-coupon-clipping club! Oh, I hope we can pull this off!! Did Judy go to bed even EARLIER than usual tonight?
  24. I'm definitely interested!!! Based on location and price, I can recommend Bally's, Flamingo or Harrah's. If you want more upscale then Paris or Mirage. If you're not worried about location and more interested in value, then I'd suggest Luxor or Golden Nugget. The Luxor or Bally's is probably a good choice based on all factors considered. If folks will be bringing their kids along, I'd suggest New York New York. I do know from previous calls that the Harrah's chain (which includes Ballys, Paris and Caesar's Palace & others ?) requires 21 rooms for a block. Otherwise you get the usual prices as found online.
  25. So check out this thread, dawgs!! .... LBT in Vegas February '08
