  1. You know what just occurred to me? ( Go ahead, guess!) Seriously, though. It just occurred to me that if/when I really ever reach my REAL goal of 150 that I will just sit down and cry. They will be the tears that have been pent up in me for 40 years. And it will be a good day.
  2. EW!!!! I keep canned fruit on hand for just such emergencies! But hey, you got your Protein in, that's for sure! LOL Good luck today on the house! ....Thinking of you! HI JOSIE!!!
  3. The problem is, nobody will post to it and it will die!! LOL
  4. Here is the link, but it doesn't give much information. How long is the walk? Houston Walk : Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International
  5. WOW Mary!! What a great story!! You need to post on the thread called "Share with us: What's improved for you?" .... it's full of inspiration and yours is certainly inspirational! And look at all the weight you've lost! Good on ya! I wish Houston HAD hills!! All we have is heat and humidity and flat cement. (But check with me in January, I'll be lovin' it! LOL)
  6. Jenn, what happened with the bank job?
  7. Long post....got lost. You mean a thread title something like, "Has anyone reached goal without exercise?" "I guess I'm just curious if it is even possible to REACH GOAL without a regular exercise program. If you have, please let me know.... and thanks." something simple like that? Great idea, BTW. Guess that's why you're a successful lawyer!
  8. Kat - (and the rest of you who exercise) Have you ever heard of the supplement L-Glutamine? It does wonders for helping with muscle recovery... people like you and Rick should keep a supply in your pantry!! You need to take 10 grams after a workout like today and that's a lot of pills. But if you buy it in a loose powder form it really works best and you can mix it into any drink...even water. It is virtually tasteless. I highly recommend it. As an added bonus, it's very good for the digestive system...especially for people who take anti-inflammatory medication (like for arthritis) or who have ulcers.
  9. The rest of ya'll can just move on to the next post; you've heard me say this 10x at least already. Yes, HH, my fills result in getting progressively tighter for about 10 days and then i level off. Now this could be for a couple of reasons. Let's say it's day 3, and i'm tighter than I was on day 2...but I'm eating the same things I did on day 2....but now I'm tighter and get stuck. This irritates my band, which makes day 4 even worse. So I think I'm going easy with my foods but now my stoma is irritated and the things I could eat on day 3, now I cannot eat....and I certainly can't eat the stuff I ate on day 2! So it gets to be kind of a vicious cycle as you're getting used to your new restriction. By day 8 or 9 I could barely eat anything (except for ice cream, gosh darnit). I am now prepared for my next fill (I think) and as I progress to solid foods I am going to go very very slowly, chew my food very well and pay attention!! If I get the slightest bit stuck I WILL STOP EATING....and go find something mushy or liquid to eat. The next day I will stay on mushies and liquids. Then the following day I will try solids again....going very very slowly. Make sense? Just do yourself a favor and follow the bandster rules to a T for the next 2 weeks and you'll probably be just fine. Good luck and Happy Losing!
  10. What does "foam rolled" mean????
  11. I can feel the port under my skin if I press on it, but that is all. You can't see it. I cannot feel any other parts in any way. Yes, the chance of death is very low, but it's there as it is with any surgery & anesthesia.
  12. VERY cool, Kimmie!! Congratulations and Nite-Nite!!
  13. Ask away! That's what we're here for!
  14. Jenn, I suggested this book to you back in early July and I'll suggest it again: QUOTE- That's what I did [journal]. You ought to see the volumes I wrote during my time in the hole. One of the books that helped me get out [of the hole] was In the Meantime: Finding Yourself and the Love You Want. For whatever it's worth to ya. XOXOXO.
  15. Yeah, whenever I get discouraged I look at the monthly groups ahead of me and see how they're doing. Then you look at the B&A's and you realize that just a bit more patience is all that is required here. I just keep doin' what I'm doin' and I know it's right. I will get there eventually and in a healthy way. I have NO complaints!
  16. JENN!! This guy has broken your heart in 1,000 different ways...just add this one to the list. You allow him to treat you like dirt and then keep coming back for more!! Does he even know any other way? You need to stand up for yourself and reclaim your power and self-value....however that needs to happen, make it happen, dammit. You're way past due. You know that people will only treat you the way you allow them to treat you. Tell the guy to go jump in a big fat lake. Exactly what do you need him for, anyway? What does he DO to support and love you exactly? DAMMIT!!!
  17. Good job!!! That tether is a great idea!! I went swimming again last night and added even more laps! My groin is a little sore today so I'll give the pool a rest. Any suggestions for protective shampoo? I am not ABOUT to wear one of those swim caps at the gym...I look hideous enough in my swimsuit. OMG You should see the majorly HOT 19 yr old that swims on Sunday mornings same time I do.
  18. What is your deadline for a headcount?
  19. 209!??!?!!! Yeeeeeeeeeeee Haaaaaawwwww!!! :clap2::clap2:Change that ticker, girlfriend!!:clap2::clap2: ********************************************************* If anyone is interested in the LBT trip to Vegas in January, here's the info: Vegas in January, Agenda, Next Steps It would probably be December before we decide...we might be putting the house up for sale around that time.
  20. Sounds like hot flashes to me!!! I am very familiar with those! You don't say how long it's been since you were banded, but seems like I read that the effects from anesthesia can linger for 3 weeks or more. Anesthesia kicked my hiney.
  21. Just a warning, I've found that drinking irritates my band! Isn't that wierd? I always have a hard time for a day or two after a night out. I'm going to Vegas in September and actually plan to abstain from alcohol! THAT will be a first. Gosh, enjoy your vacation!!! Sounds heavenly!
  22. Darlin', if you don't get banded tomorrow I'd say give up on the whole idea!!! Did you get a new anesthesiologist? Please let us know and we'll throw a party in your honor!!! GOOD LUCK!!!
  23. This doesn't directly have anything to do with losing weight but.... I have my teeth cleaned every 4 months because I get terrible stains on the backs of my teeth. I always thought it was because of all the coffee, tea and soda I drank. Because of the band I had to give up my "beloved" Diet Coke. I still drink coffee, and occassional tea. Guess what? I don't have any stains on my teeth and I'm due for a cleaning next week! It was the Coke!!!! BTW, I don't miss the Diet Coke at all!! (Now I'm addicted to Propel! LOL)
  24. MMS -- I am so sorry. Look at all the posts regarding insurance... because I know I've read more than a few times where people were approved after first being denied. File and appeal. I'm sure your doctor is well versed in writing these letters, so don't lose hope yet!!
  25. :welcome: Well, you certainly are in the right place! Tons of info here and great people, too! Welcome!
