  1. I'm laughing so hard I think I just woke up my husband in the next room!
  2. I was the same way with sweet tastes, after three weeks, it got better. I also became lactose intolerant after surgery but at 12 weeks, I can use dairy without much problem.
  3. My bills are going up, because it appears that my husband is making up for what Im not eating! I personally am spending less, when I eat out, i get three meals out of one... I only buy protein drinks that costs around $1 a serving, and I do make a lot of my food from scratch, I don't eat meat, so meat substitutes are much cheeper to make from scratch and freeze. Now, clothing and makeup bills....thats another topic!
  4. If you feel like something not milky, but fruity, try 4-ever-fit ... best deal Vitamin world, but you can find them elseware too... mango is my fav, they also have black raspberry, tea with lemon, strawberry/kiwi and cran/raspberry. I mix the mango and strawberry/kiwi for a fruit punch kind of juicy taste. It has the least whey taste/most realistic fruit taste I have found, much better than nectar according to my taste buds anyway. 25 gms pro, I think 100 cal and low carbs too. samples here http://www.4everfit.com/protein-powder/4everfit-protein-powder-sample-pack-6-x-30g.html but the best by is at vitamin world. 4EVERFIT Fruit Blast the Isolate DETAILS BUILD LEAN MUSCLE BEST TASTING Protein AVAILABLE ASPARTAME FREE (ONLY SUCRALOSE) MIXES INSTANTLY 23-26 G OF PROTEIN PER SERVING ZERO FAT & ONLY 1 G OF CARBS TROPICAL MANGO, CRAN-RAZZ, STRAWBERRY-KIWI, TANGY ORANGE, GREEN APPLE, BLACK RASPBERRY, LEMON ICE TEA FLAVORS hey even have a natural with 21 gms pro I might try 100% Natural - Fruit Blast the Isolate DETAILS WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE NATURAL FLAVORS & SWEETENER GREAT TASTING MIXES INSTANTLY 21 G OF Proteins ZERO FAT AND ONLY 100 CALORIES! 5. Love that jello mouse! Nice dark chocolate flavor.
  6. I have that fat pad too, I have had it even when I was thinner... but not quite as much as when I gained weight. It depends on what it is. There are fatty tumors, funny bone structure and fat that can accumulate because of Cushings disease. I expect to still have some of mine after I lose the weight. Yes I understand about the not hiding the fat anymore! I tell people how much I weight (the ultimate secret!) I guess I figured if I didn't tell them, they wouldn't figure out I was fat! . I talk about my BMI numbers. I have left shame behind. Now I wear fitting clothing more, I talk about losing weight, being fat and the details ( with people who want to talk about it that is...). I don't hide it. This is so liberating! I really feel like this change is going to last.
  7. It almost sound like he was talking about RNY. You can stretch out your stoma, (where the stomach pouch is attached to the intestine) and food just slides out and into the intestine letting you eat more and more.
  8. I have had friends cut me off for no apparent reason a time or two. I still don't know why. The older I get the more I think it might not be for any reason that has to do with ME, or maybe it was and I just don't know why. Have you ever checked out meetup.com? You sign up for free, and look in any category you are interested in by zip code.. it posts loads of meetups for dancing, hiking, bike riding, eating out, bird watching and all kinds of activities with like minded people. Maybe its time to reach out and meet some more peeps with similar interests? Just a thought.
  9. YOU ARE CRACKING ME UP! Its a learning experience. The cut has been cut, and its time to figure out what you need to do to get the healthy eating job done. Its harder in the beginning than after 7 weeks when the menu gets bigger. You will also probably feel like eating a little more. The chocolate Injury might even start tasting more like chocolate and less like an Injury! Keep up the humor, it will help everything taste better.
  10. Go and if he is there, play it by ear. I like the idea of answering him in his own language.... "oh by the way, I speak "-----" are you still an ass hole?!" H e may not even remember what he said those years ago... I'm sure it wasn't the only time he was rude to someone behind their back....
  11. They are not the only ones with a phone. They might feel lonely too! give'em a call!
  12. I do not crave it... I eat it like medicine, and try to make it taste good and enjoy it. Without it you lose muscle mass, and do not heal well. virtually everyone says "Protein first". I think this is probably true. I eat more protein now then before surgery when I was eating 2500 calories a day. I am a vegetarian, and do not eat anything with a face.
  13. Time after time folks here say drink you water... At the least all that caffein is not doing you any good. If you turn that into decaf, you would be just 2 glasses of water from your min water intake. Its a habit you can change. If you keep drinking caf, you need to add an extra glass of water for each caf you drink to make up for the diuretic qualities of the caf.
  14. I still have hunger. I can't eat much though, and this keeps me on track. At the same time I am working on a plan to keep the eating healthy and in line with weight maintenance in the future. I started an exercise plan two years before getting the the surgery, so I know I can stick to that. The sleeve is a tool, you should probably get some counseling and whatever you might need before and during your surgery to make sure this works in the long run for you, I hear that it does get harder further out, most weight is gained back at three years and beyond.
  15. really work on getting in that water, getting dehydrated can make you feel like cr@p. The only days I have felt really faint or week have been when I didnt get in enough water (that would be over 6 glasses a day)
  16. I'm not there yet, but kind of think I will be in the same boat... I am looking forward to eating more veggies to fill in the gaps!
  17. Start digging! Your going to love it! http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ THIS MUCH
  18. Sounds good and to the point. I am sure you are not the only one who wrote, I hope they listen! Good job.
  19. cuisinart ice20. you can get them pretty cheep on line, I got mine for $30 shipped. It is rated highest in its price range. I have not used it for protein ice cream yet, but thats what I bought if for, and am waiting for warmer weather!
  20. I just got into a 16 last week, and I am sporting them all over... I feel like a queen! Congrats girl!
  21. The best ones I have tried are the 4ever-fit fruit flavors... better than Nectar in my opinion. http://www.4everfit.com/protein-powder/isolates-1/fruit-blast-isolate.html love the mango!
  22. I just found something called "peanut flour" . It is no sugar or salt and mostly is sold with most of the fat removed. It also comes in dark and light roast. You can bake with it or add it to smothies and such. The darker roast is supposed to have a stronger flavor. I ordered mine from netrition.com and it has 16 gms Protein per 1/4 cup! It is also gluten free. http://www6.netrition.com/protein_plus_peanut_flour.html shipping is a flat $4.99, so I ordered three pounds to keep the cost down.
