GAS X STRIP? PILL?
Yes, the Gas-X won't help with the gas they use for surgery, but it WILL help with the gas you'll have much more of in your digestive tract than you used to.

not hungry
two weeks for me. enjoy it while you can!

Goal Weight Met! Some advice from a bandster.
Wow, love the before and after! Also, your sig says you've lost 0 pounds post-surgery. That gave me a good laugh Congrats!

GAS X STRIP? PILL?
Yes, it's a strip you place on your tongue and it dissolves.

Dont know if I should go back n remove fluid
No problem? But you said you got stuck and vomited 3 times. Am I missing something here? Anyway I'd wait and see if the swelling goes down. I always feel tighter the first few days after a fill but then the swelling goes down. HTH!

How can we do it? We're just really, really good at eating

Newly Banded - Digestion Question
Liquid in = liquid out.

Can the band not work for people?
Yep, you can eat too much good food and not lose weight. Also, it seems doctors don't really know exactly how the band keeps you from feeling hungry, so I'd imagine there's a possibility it might not work for some people. But remember, even with the band at your perfect spot, you're the one controlling what you put in your mouth, and it's never going to stop you from eating the "wrong" thing. http://drsimpson.net/fills/Lap-band-eating/lap-band-not-restriction/lap-band-and-restriction.html

So this is Bandster Hell?????
Mmmhmm bandster hell. Most people take 3 or 4 fills to get in their sweet spot. I'd call to see if they'll let you come in sooner- my doctor allows fills every 2 weeks.

Feeling Doubtful
Tell you what. Put away your scale right now. Take it out again when you're two weeks past surgery. You'll be thrilled at how much you've lost.
-
No restriction after surgery?
Yes. Probably until you get 2 or 3 fills actually.
-
pain
If the pain is really bad, call the doctor to make sure you're not developing pneumonia.
-
Is this normal after surgery?
The shoulder pain and sleeping issues are normal. I don't think the wooziness/passing out is normal. I'd call your doctor and see what they say.
-
portion control
Yes, it does sound like you need a fill. The band will never stop you from over-eating, but if it's filled to the right level it'll help you to feel full or satisfied on a small meal, and stay that way 4-5 hours. Getting more Protein... you can get the fruit drink flavors, or the "unflavored" one and mix it in to other drinks or other things your'e eating.

Second guessing myself..
Sure, people have done that, though I doubt most of them post here anymore

4 hr road trip 2 days after surgery
Besides the driving, what will you be doing on your trip? 2 days after surgery, I was mostly sleeping. You won't be driving, will you?

Deflated look
Honestly, I associate that look much more with people who had bypass and lost a ton of weight super quickly. It's almost like their skin doesn't fit on their body anymore.

fills
What's an example of what you eat in a day? Maybe we can help you.

Will power.'I need some help pls
The things that helps me most is tracking everything I eat. I use fatsecret.com but there are a bunch of food logging sites out there. I try to stay around 1,000-1,200 calories a day, you'll probably need more since you exercise more than I do! Also, I stay between 50-100g of carbs a day. I know the more carbs I eat, the more I want to eat and it just snowballs.

6 cc's on first fill normal?
"Normal" portions will start looking weirder and weirder to you I'm at the point where I look at a plate being served in a restaurant and go "woah, that's gross" because there's SO much food on it.

Post op complications - not losing weight
When is your post op appointment? If you've been losing for a while (congrats by the way, that's awesome!) you're not going to have that drastic drop that most of us have. You said it yourself, your body is already used to 1200 calories a day, and it's now getting over the trauma of the surgery. I imagined my body yelling "what the HELL is going on here?!?!" after surgery. Yours is doing the same and even though your diet is super strict right now, your body has no idea what to do.

NO PRE-OP Say whaaat?!
I had no pre-op diet, I was just warned not to gain weight in that last week before surgery. Congrats!
