Can you make shakes ahead of time?
My understanding is that the nutrients in the shake break down after they've been sitting for a while, so I wouldn't suggest it. How about putting the peanut butter and banana in one container and the protein and liquid in another and leaving it in the fridge, so you just need to mix and go when you get up?

not loosing weight
Doesn't sound like you're getting in much Protein. Did your doctor tell you to shoot for a certain number of grams of protein per day, or a certain amount of carbs? I really don't see how unfilling and re-filling your band will make any difference- if anything I'd think it'd make you gain instead of lose.

I Have PCOS, want to lose 95 pds, will lapband help?
I have PCOS and I'm banded. So far so good! Does make it even harder to resist carbs, though...

broth
This is pretty much how I make it. http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/chicken-recipes/easy-chicken-stock Remember that it has to cook way longer than you think, something about the gelatin being released from the bones... I always think it's not working, it's not working, then BLAM, it eventually works. And it's soooo yummy.

Protein drinks
I find the chart at the bottom of this page helpful. http://www.vitalady.com/protein.htm As for how much, our bodies can't process much more than 30g of Protein at a time. So you can have more than that but it'll just pass through. I wouldn't say one brand is better than another, the key is finding a flavor/brand you like. Everyone likes something different.

not loosing weight
I'm not understanding why you'd have the Fluid removed from the band-- wouldn't that make your problem even worse? What are you eating in a typical day?

Port Pain
The port pain lasts a long time. I'm 2 months out now and if I bend and twist the wrong way, I get it again. I used a heating pad on my stomach to help with the port pain, but logically icing it makes more sense.

how long on liquids after first fill?
I had a really hard time on liquids after my first fill too! My doctor says 24 hours on liquids, then proceed with normal foods with caution.

Will playing a trumpet make the band slip? :)
I can't see any possible reason that playing the trumpet, or any other brass instrument, would make your band slip. Your band is around your stomach, not your diaphragm or your abdominal muscles.

Losing weight sort of scary fast
It's very normal, and yes, it will slow down soon. I lost fast the first 3 or so weeks after surgery, -- between May and June I've only lost 9 pounds.

Failure
I really think if you're eating lots of pasta because it doesn't get stuck, it's time for an unfill. I'm sorry you're going through this.

3rd fill
I scheduled my 3rd fill for next week. The first few days after fill #2 were great, but now that the swelling's gone, I'm back to bandster hell. It's SO hard.

Advice! I'm not losing weight!
As usual I agree with everything Rev says. She is wise. I hope you're able to get back on track!

Frustrated!
What do you eat in a typical day?

Meds
I take them with a hot drink. I don't crush them even though I was supposed to right after surgery.

2nd fill
I wouldn't even consider it an "extra" fill. We all need different amounts of fills to get to a good place. I made an appointment this morning for fill #3. Your doctor should be fine with it because I'm sure he realizes that the "right" amount is different for everyone.
-
What do you eat each day?
It really is different for everyone. Lots of people have problems with bread, or chicken, but others don't... too bad we can't all find out what our trouble foods will be before we get banded, huh?

Best for Pre-Op weight loss?
Liquid diet. Same as the pre-op diet many have to do to shrink their livers. Good luck!
-
fill not working?
You did just the right thing. Most people don't feel a good level of "restriction" until 3-4 fills. It's a process that involves much fine-tuning.
