  1. Feel free to friend me too. I'm by no means the poster child for a good diary, but I try. Same name as here. Kittyforet.
  2. my nutrionist (not affiliated with my surgeon) gave me sample ideas of what I can eat when and I tried to stick to that... try to find a protein you like....i drink "The ideal Chocolate Milk" protein powder and like it. Some people like Unjury (it's not too bad), some don't. You have to find what works for you. Even 5 months out, at least 5 days a week I have a protein drink for breakfast...when I don't, I sometimes fall short of meeting my protein. you can start logging your meals at a site like myfitnesspal.com....i started that pre-op and have been pretty consistent with logging my meals. Also helps that I can see my friends' diaries to see how they get their protein in.
  3. Congrats on being banded! Don't worry about calories right now. Concentrate on getting your Proteins and drink fluids. Calories start to count once you're on solid foods again. Best of luck to you!
  4. So sorry to hear that Mimi. I dealt with that the other night, stuck on a meatball that I wolfed down. Hope your weekend gets better.
  5. Banded in June. Already had 2 thanksgiving dinners and have one more to go. Still used my diary and trying to stay under calorie goal but won't beat myself up if I go over. I put tiny teaspoon size amounts on my plate and ate very slowly. Ate a little of each thing I wanted. Really wanted the fried turkey but I tasted a tiny piece and was worried I'd get stuck on it if it was too dry. But I enjoyed myself and time with family. Going to do it again on Saturday. Gym was closed today so going to work out tomorrow morning. Happy thanksgiving everyone.
  6. I won't lie. I step on that dang thing everyday. Recently went out of town and freaked out because I wasn't going to be able to weigh. But got over it. I only record it on Wednesday's. Weigh down Wednesday. Lol. And try to ignore the rest of the days weights.
  7. I use the target brand of the Vitafusion gummies. I take 2 of the adult Multivitamin and 2 of the calcium chewies. My nutritionist is ok with that. Don't get me wrong, they don't taste like Haribo Gummy bears, but they're not too bad. The calcium ones are sorta like sour gummies but without the sour taste. I can't stand chalky tastes or chewing the tablets.
  8. Anyone that's using myfitnesspal can look at my diary. It's not always the best and don't use it as what you must do but I try. Feel free to friend me here and there. Same username. Kittyforet Kristi
  9. Many people use www.myfitnesspal.com to track their calories. Using that site allows you to see all of your nutrients and you can see your friends' diaries. Helps keep me motivated. You can choose to have your diary public or private. I use it and so do so many others from here. You can look at mine. Same user name as here.
  10. My first stuck episode was mild. Only lasted a few minutes. After walking around it went down. Tonight I just had my worst stuck ever. Never want that again. It starts as a sharp chest pain and for me i can feel it in the same spot in my back. Well after feeling that horrible pain for 2 hours, I threw up a lot of slime. Felt a little better, so I sat back down I read my book. A little later though the pain came back. Lots of vomit later and now I feel better. What caused it?? A meatball. Actually 3 meatballs. Each smaller than a gold ball. I was making spaghetti sauce and tried a new recipe for baked meatballs. Had to sample before I put them in the sauce. I didn't chew well enough. Thankfully it all came back up. Lesson learned. No dinner for me, and now I really have to be careful. I feel like I need to eat but don't think I am actually hungry. Plus a little scared to do anything. I'll do liquids tomorrow to minimize any after effects. Hoping I never go thru that again. I just got a fill 2 weeks ago and up to 6.6 cc. I've gotten stuck mildly every few days since then. If this continues I will ask for a slight unfill at my next visit. Other than the stuck and vomit, I can tell I'm eating less. Might actually be hovering around the green zone.
  11. NSV is any accomplishment or victory that you've achieved that doesn't include a scale. It could be a smaller clothing size, someone paid you a compliment about your weight loss, fitting to an airplane seat or another seat, crossing your legs, etc. anything that maybe you wouldn't or couldn't do before. It's a victory to be celebrated even if the scale isn't moving (or if it's not moving enough or the right way!) Celebrate every little thing and be proud of what you've accomplished. It's the little things that add up to big success.
  12. I've never heard of it. Sounds interesting.
  13. I think it's from Muscle Milk. Happy birthday!
  14. I take the Target brand of the multi-vitamin and calcium gummies....they're both the Target brand of the Vita brand gummies. They're not too bad. When they are on sale I buy several bottles.
  15. Good luck!! I was banded in June 2011 at TRH with Dr. Reilly.
  16. I had no problems wearing one. Not that I wanted to wear one, but went to a funeral the day after surgery and didn't really want to go without. Never bothered me as my incisions are lower than my bra line.
  17. Anything times zero equals zero.
  18. I do not post about my surgery on my Facebook page, as my bosses do not know I had it done. They only know I had hernia surgery during the summer break, that really happened. But I don't necessarily post anything anyways about my lapband, as my inlaws dont know either. But feel free to friend me, just put LBT in the message so I don't think you are some random stalker. Lol My kids picture is my profile. Look for the redhead. I hardly get on LBT now that school is back in session but I check Facebook at work on my break.
  19. LeChill, I'd like the directions for your fritatta. Sounds yummy! I usually have a Protein shake for breakfast during the week, as it is hard for me to take the time to actually eat before I teach my class. But on rare days that I eat breAkfast, it's one of two things...egg mcmuffin from McDonald's, or I make a hungry girl egg mug. Basically egg beaters and any combo of stuff cooked in the microwave. Makes single servings. Sometimes it makes so much I can only eat half.
  20. Do you like any of the Carnation Instant Breakfast flavors? If so, mix one of those and add powdered dry milk. I think it's like 1/3 cup of dry milk to 1 cup of regular milk (or water) and that makes it have the protein of milk. When I am out of my protein powder (Ideal Chocolate Milk diet), or when I am bored with chocolate flavor, I will mix up a packet of CIB plus 1/3 cup powdered dry milk plus my milk, and it keeps me full until lunchtime.
  21. I had a few handfuls of it at a carnival the other day. Ate it slowly. It was soooo good. Nice and salty, perfectly popped and seasoned. If my son hadn't grabbed it, I would have tried to eat a little more. But so far no problems. Not craving it either.
  22. Kids these days!! To them crack is king and they don't realize that you can actually lose weight without doing something illegal. Congrats on your loss. Keep it up!!
