Transition from Liquids too easy!!
I was banded on the 7th and I have been hungry since day 2. Like you, I do not feel full or satisfied. It's driving me bonkers because I don't get my first fill until Oct. 19th. That's still a ways off. I am also getting cravings for things that are bad bad bad for me (pizza, chicken nuggets, french fries....). Yikes!

It is so crazy how different doctors have different views. Creamy tomato soup was the first thing on my list of OK foods to have right after clear liquids. In fact, that is just about all I had every day for a week and a half when I got off the clear. What is even more strange is the fact that before my surgery tomato soup would give me heartburn and I have not had any heartburn since the surgery. Even after drinking the soup twice a day for 10 days! I guess that just goes to show how everyone is different including our doctors. My surgeon and dietitian also told me that during the "healing period" I should still be losing 1 - 2 pounds a week. That is something else that is different from a lot of post I have read on here.

Oh my gosh, I agree 100% about the protein shots. Ewwwwww and icky icky icky! I honestly don't think I have ever had anything that tasted so bad. Even the prep for my colonoscopy tasted better than the protein shots. bleh

I LOVE my magic bullet! I use it to mix my powder protein drinks and sometimes I add ice and it's like a milkshake. Yummy! I pureed chili in it the other day and it worked fantastic.

Winifred76, did the booby pain go away?? Any idea what caused it? What a shame they practically pushed you out the door like that! I understand schedules and all that but holy moly, I would think they would want to be sure you are good to go before they release you. Glad to hear you are home resting now.

Boy, she really DID get bent out of shape didn't she? LOL! And for no good reason. I actually got a kick out of your post because I was feeling the exact same way. In fact, I still am. I can't seem to get rid of my scale and I can't seem to lose even one pound. It's frustrating!! Hopefully I will soon be "healed" and will start losing.

Woo Hoo, I just have to brag somewhere.
OMG!! That's so exciting! Way to go. I can't wait until I'm in the same place you are right now. Keep up the good work!!!

I was able to function without too much pain the very next day. Maybe I wasn't in pain due to the pain killers but it really didn't seem bad. My hubs went back to work so I was on my own and I was fine. I'm now almost 2 weeks post op and the only problem I'm dealing with is itchy itchy incisions. Every once in a while my port area hurts but it doesn't last long.

Hi Jon! Welcome. Good luck on your journey!!

I'm on board for a September post-op group also. Sometimes it's better to vent and discuss things with folks who are at the same point in their journey as we are rather than someone who is a couple years banded and been through it all. They are good for advice, but maybe not as patient with newbies venting. I'm looking forward to Thursday when I can have mashed taters and scrambled eggs!!

Yeah Healing, blah, blah, blah but I'm still pissed!
Wow...

Yeah Healing, blah, blah, blah but I'm still pissed!
I got on the scale this morning and actually lost a pound!! Whoohoo! My problem today though, is I am continuously hungry! I'm only a week and few days post-op so I'm still on liquids. I have been drinking a soup or protein shake every couple of hours. This is very troublesome to me, What is going on????

Yeah Healing, blah, blah, blah but I'm still pissed!
I swear I could have written this today!! I am a week and couple days post-op and I'm driving myself crazy by getting on that stinkin' scale!! I lost 20 pounds on the liquid pre-op diet and was so stoked from that. Now I can not even lose ONE pound. I'm still doing liquids only (averaging 800 cals per day) and I'm riding my bike about a 1/2 hour daily. I'm ready to be done healing are start losing!! I'll see ya in cray-cray land!

What do you want to do when your skinny (or thinner)
1) Tuck my pant legs into my Ugg boots. 2) Wear knee high leather boots and not have a problem zipping them past my calves. 3) Shave my inner thighs and not get razor burn from them rubbing. 4) Get my belly button pierced. 5) Cross my legs like a lady should, not the way a guy does. I've got many other reasons but these are the first ones that came to mind. Fun!!

Had my 1st Post-Op Appointment today!
Way to go!! 29 pounds is fantastic! Doesn't it feel great to be off to such a good start? Best of luck to you for continued success.

Itchy Belly!
I'm one week out tomorrow too and the itchy belly has finally gone away for me. Yippee!! I still have an itchy rash on my face though that I think is a reaction to the pain meds or something used at the hospital.... Heading back to work Wednesday so I hope all the itching is gone by then.

Way to go!! That is my goal, to make it to under 200. I have a ways to go to get there, but I know I can do it. How awesome for you!!

Over 1 year havent lost what i thought i was going to..considering getting gastric bypass
Would it be possible to maybe add another day or two of exercise? It's so frustrating to hit a plateau and not be able to get past that. If the protein/calorie intake is where it should be, it might be time to up the physical activity. Even if it means parking your car farther away or taking the stairs instead of the elevator it might help you through the plateau. I am not even a week pre-op so I can't say I've been in your shoes, but I wouldn't even think about a bypass until I have exhausted every single thing I could do to make the band work for me.

Pre-op diet blues
You are not alone! I had a really tough time with the liquid pre-op diet as well. And the weekends were harder than during the week. My cravings and hallucinations about food didn't come until about a day after my banding. Almost every day since then I have been craving/smelling sausage pizza. Every commercial is for some form of fried chicken. Like popcorn chicken, popeye's chicken, long john silver's chicken. OMG, it's driving me crazy! I don't see my dog as a hamburger, but I dream about french fries!! I know this too will pass. Keep the strength and good luck to you!!

Rash
I was banded on the 7th and I don't have a rash on my stomach, but I do have one on my face!! It's red, raised, and itchy! Yikes!! My stomach is itchy at the incision sites but I'm sure that's due to healing. This crud on my face though, is horrid!!

Disgusted with Myself
I agree 100%! Would love a "LIKE" button!

pizza & chicken nuggets
I'm hoping tomorrow is better and that I have no food dreams tonight. I ended up watching a movie this afternoon so I wouldn't see so many food commercials. LOL, I'm gonna have to learn how to deal with cravings better.

Nine pounds?! Yay!!! How awesome that people are noticing weight loss already. Isn't that a great feeling? I lost 20 pounds on my 2 week liquid pre-op diet and the only one who said anything about noticing it was my hubby. It still felt good to hear it.
