Who Does Feel Full??!
Recently it seems many posters are saying they still are hungry-needless to say this is discouraging and I hope it's just because they need proper restriction. Does anyone out there actually feel full with a very small amount of food? If so please raise your hand and give me some hope!

Not feeling as full a month after lap band and before first fill
http://drsimpson.net/fills/Lap-band-eating/lap-band-not-restriction/lap-band-and-restriction.html Read this article because it talks about the "Honeymoon" stage -that first month. I find some things in the article interesting-like not eating until you are full (stopping right before that feeling).

Muscle Milk Light (choc)
Thanks for all the suggestions! I think I need to throw out the Muscle Milk Light Chocolate-it is just too nasty. I wonder if I can put the unflavored Unjury into SF pudding?

Are Bandsters like Brides???
Thanks everyone- it's nice to know that I am not the only one totally obessed with the band Renne-thanks for sharing your journey with your husband. I hope I get lots more hugs and more affection too! Last night we wentto dinner - I told him this was my last meal for about 4-6 weeks (restuarant). We talked all about the band over dinner-it was really nice. He asked questions and was surprised at some things. He really didn't understand how the band worked so I explained itto him and said it's just a tool and I have to do my part too. He was really listening and it was a great night. I told him I won't be able to lift heavy things like food shopping and maybe laundry-he said for how long..3 years? LOL I said "Yep that's sounds about right!" So we had some serious discussions and a few laughs. But I am still a Bandzilla-

Thanks Dave! You are probably right-all the interest will come once the weight starts to come off.

Are Bandsters like Brides???
That's exactly what I mean-my husband hasn't brought it up either. Now maybe I just underplayed it when I told him about it. I said "Oh it's an outpatient surgery completely reversable, etc." But I am not sure if he realizes I will need help that first few days and I will be on liquids for a while. I am sure we'll go out to dinner tonight and I will bring it up again. I mean it's not like I decide djust to get a tooth pulled-this is life altering! Sometimes I think men just don't think! Really what does supportive mean anyway? Does supportive mean accepting it or actally taking a vested interest in it. I bet it will hit him when I am at the hospital!

Are Bandsters like Brides???
Well I have really been totally obsessed with getting the band. I have researched extensively and I on on this forum way more than I willl ever admit to! My firend has never asked me a question about the band since I emailed her saying I was seriously considering it. I told my hubby on Monday but he has said anything since then. I mentione dto him that I had my Endoscope and he asked how it went-but no furthers questions. The friend I work with is always too busy talking about herself to ask me any questions...basically what I am saying is WTH!!! I know brides get all into their weddings obsessively and was wondering if Bansters are the same? Is it unrealistic to expect people to be interested in this decision or am I simply becoming a Bandzilla ?

You look amazing!! What a difference! Congratualtions!!! Okay, now you have a cute girlish figure you need to get rid of the baggy tops-your weight lost will be much more noticable. I know it's hard to rid ourselves of the oversized tops-but you have worked way too hard to hide that figure! You go girl!!

Muscle Milk Light (choc)
Okay so I bought a few Protein shakes so I cam prepare for my pre-op diet and post op diet. I bought Muscle Milk Light (choc-30 grams of protein 200 calories for entire shake)-took a few sips and it has a nasty after taste. Could I drink it? Yes. But I wouldn't look forward to it. I realize if I blend it with ice and a banana it would taste better-but also has more calories. Has anyone tried adding Splenda to their shakes? I also bought the Atkins shakes-only 15 grams of protein-but the price was good.. Bought GNC's Totally Lean Swiss Choc. -haven't tried it yet. Order Unflavored

A little sad
Don't let negativity stand in the way of your goals. The truth is if you keep doing what you've always done-you'll keep getting what you've always gotten. This is YOUR life-own it! Have you read the success stories on this forum? That should help inspire you. As far as your friend goes- well-they are her feelings but this is YOUR body. You probably have mixed emotions too-but you need to keep your eye on the prize (being skinny and getting healthy). I don'tthink my BFF (of over 40 yrs.) will be supportive at all so I am opting not to tell her my daily progress-and that's okay. She's still my friend but the focus of our friendship will not be my weight loss. You can do this-really you can! Remember you are the captain of this ship-not anyone else-it's your life girl-you've got this!

3 weeks post op and cheating... anyone else in my boat?
I haven't gotten the band yet (11 more days!) but I would think that you don't have restriction in the band and need a fill. People that seem to have restriction feel full with very little. Also, don't set yourself up for failure-if you know a meal comes with fries or onion rings ask for a salad instead of the fries. Don't bring the crap home either-doggie bags are only for good stuff! You CAN do this- you own it,worked for it, and now you need to steer this is the right direction. Good luck to you !

Post-op progress and finally feeling good!
AWESOME!!! That is really encouraging! I have my surgery in 11 days and so often we heard the problems on this forum (which is understandable-people looking for help and support) but it's so nice to hear something positive and encouraging! Please continue to keep us posted!

I would so like to be a pre-op!

Listen to the new "NOW" LAP-BAND Radio Ad!
I think it's about time that Lapband gets out there and promoted on radio and TV-seriously it seems like such a hidden procedure. The more that people hear about the more accepting it becomes. Great commerial - howver I do agree that it sounds like they are saying Latband instead of Lapband.

I am now among the banded

I FINALLY TOLD HUBBY!!!!!
Jona I am in the same boat as you. I am hoping that things "heat up" a little more when I lose the weight. Things have slowed down considerably since I put on the weight. I am looking forward to feeling sexy again!

Told Hubby
Well, you guys know that I finally told my hubby Monday night-thanks to all your support and nudging...wel tonight his work tried to book him on an important business trip the week of my surgery. He told them he has a personal situation to attend too (plus on Monday he already blocked that time out of his schdeule). If I had waited any longer he would have had to go on this trip!!! I am SO glad I told him when I did or else I would have been left home by myself that week!!
