I need to recognize my success thus far!!!
Ok folks, I have been down because of this stall I am in but I have realized that I need to be happy with my success to this point and Celebrate it so here is a progress picture. I am 5 months post-op as of yesterday. I have lost 46 pounds since surgery and still want to lose 25 more to get to my ideal weight. I will try to be patient a little longer with this stall, I truly hope things start moving again soon!!! Have a great week everyone!

Closing in on 16 months post op
Tiff, you look great! Congrats! Today I am 20 weeks out, 5 months. I have lost over 45 pounds but am now REALLY discouraged because I have not seen the scale move in a couple of weeks. I knew this would happen, I am down to the lowest I was ever able to get myself on my own so it might be a mental thing, I don't know. I weigh about 135 right now and goal is 110 (I am 5' tall so 110 is not too small for me). I am scared that yet again I will not be able to just get myself to goal and stay there. It is frustrating and I am hoping that it is just temporary, was really hoping not to go through this emotional time but I guess I need to just stay positive! Congrats Girl!

Finally in a Stall
Ok, so I finally hit the dreaded stall after 18 weeks post op. I have lost a great deal and am feeling really good about where I am but this is where I was afraid I would get stuck. I am now at the lowest weight I reached when killing myself to diet and exercise about 2 years ago. I know that my goal is 110 and it is achievable given that I am 5' tall and I know I have lots of flab on the lower half to lose. Seems like I am experiencing more restriction these days and pretty much don't care to eat so I am hoping that maybe I need to be much more deliberate with my Protein as I have been in the past. I would really like to be at goal by Christmas. I am also going to start working out more (right now only going once a week). I am happy that I am not gaining! But then again, not sure how I could with the little amount that I eat. Very happy with my sleeve, just need to get motivated to work this to my advantage now and actually see my weight get to my goal and stay there!

Anyone with small children?
Welcome! I had surgery about 4 months ago and I have three children, 8, 8 and 7. It took me a good 8 weeks to really feel like I had my energy back. It was hard for me but I am look back and it is a distant memory! Now, that is with three children! Maybe I would suggest finding some things that you two can do together that is more relaxed like puzzles or books. Not sure if your kiddo is like this but I had my kids really start helping around the house (a single Mom here...) and they loved doing that! Even if it is just dusting a table or picking up toys, they really felt for me and knew I did not have the same energy level I had before surgery. I can tell you that now I have tons of energy and have lost over 45 pounds in 4 months! Time really flies after surgery so just take it one day at a time and the best thing you can do going into this surgery is to plan ahead and be prepared to make adjustments as you go! Best of luck! You came to a wonderful, supportive place, keep coming back, you will get so much encouragement from these folks!

Yay, below 135! The last time I lost weight on my own I got down in the low 130s so I am considering this new era I am about to enter the true "I'm doing it and gonna keep it off!" phase! I have 24.9 pounds to go. Folks look at me and ask why I would want to lose more weight but I tell them I am the only one seeing myself naked, believe me, there is more to lose! I look forward to the rest of this journey of losing weight and then maintenance! 45.7 pounds in 16 weeks feels great!

My man jokes that I have a Jessica Rabbit waist now! Of course the last 25 pounds or so will be all these Jessica Rabbit hips and butt! Thanks for posting, you are really helping the newbies and the semi-pros like myself! Yes, I too am slow and steady, maybe 6-7 pounds a month now and I am happy with that! Having a really bad day
I am 3 months post op and remember the exact same emotions. To date I have lost 37.6 pounds. It comes off 1-2 pounds a week. At first, that was depressing to me, now, I love the rate I am losing. It is slow and gradual. I am not one that likes alot of attention so this works great for me, it is not so drastic that people's jaws are dropping. They are noticing that I am looking better and that is fine with me! I am looking better because I am feeling better and I am dressing better. This is the best decision I have ever made for myself. I can tell you that it took me almost 10 weeks to get my energy back and that was really hard being a single mom with 3 little ones. I too obsessed over looking at before and after pics, that was motivation for me. I log my food everyday and I weigh everyday, some say that is bad but it is up to you how you want to manage your new tool. The adjustment to a new way of eating was hard but with this tool, it is pretty hard to fail. Just believe in yourself and the gift you have been given! Take it one day at a time. I still can't believe it has been 3 months, the time has flown!

Q for Dr Aceves patients....
It isn't that they don't accept it, it is that Care Credit will not finance surgery in Mexico. So the answer is no, Care Credit will not work with Dr. Aceves. There are some other choices out there for financing though I am not sure of the names, you can find them on this site I think. Good luck!

sleeve equals new beginning! is this crazy!
Not crazy at all!!! It sure will be a new beginning! I am separated and have 3 kiddos I take care of. Had surgery almost 3 months ago and I have lost 37 pounds and feel great! I have actually started dating again and I feel so much better. I am taking it VERY SLOW, I really just want to make some new friends that share common interests... Congrats, it is truly an amazing tool! My weight loss is slow and steady and I love waking up every morning to start a new day. That is what is so great about the sleeve, even if you have a little slip up, you can start over so easily. Best of luck!

Half way today!!!
Happy Saturday Morning Everyone! Got on the scale this morning (my morning ritual in my birthday suit!) and BAM! I am half way to goal!!! Monday will be 11 weeks since surgery and I have lost 35.4 pounds, 35.2 pounds to go until I reach my goal! I have started exercising so I am hoping that it will not take another 3 months to get to goal but I guess if it does, it is still weight loss and not gain! I love my decision more and more everyday. Thanks for all the support from everyone. This has truly been a lifestyle change, I have made changes in my life I never thought possible. I don't mind getting out of the house anymore (going to the pool today and actually looking forward to it!). I can't imagine how I will feel when another 35 pounds is gone, that is still unimaginable to me but I will continue to take it day by day and Celebrate the little successes along the way. I went shopping yesterday and for the first time in a long time, I bought almost everything I tried on, it used to be so the opposite! Everything was size S/M and size 8! YEAH!!! Have a great weekend and again, thanks to all on this forum, an amazing resource of support and encouragement!

Yahoo...the sleeve is awesome!
Although I DO NOT LIKE your screen name (heehee, I am a Texas Aggie!), I will tell you that you have done a great job and congrats on your success! And it is obviously not just the sleeve, you are working out and that takes a huge commitment and lifestyle change for some of us! Enjoy your success for years to come!

I cried tonight ...
Congrats Mini Me! I understand the crying thing, tends to hit you when you least expect it but tears of joy!!!
-
Lets just say......
Stacey, I agree with TexasT. I have 40 more to lose, I know the shape I was in high school at 110 pounds but who knows what my shape will be once I reach goal this time around. I have had three kids and this body has been through alot. I do hope that my bottom half gets much smaller to match my top half though!!!

Stacey, you past your half way mark!!! Yeah for you!!!

What was I thinking ??!!
Great post! I am still dealing with the aftermath of fixing myself physically and working on the mental part to catch up! I have found that sugary stuff actually makes me physically ill now! I say that is a blessing cause I have always had a sweet tooth! Keep up the great work, I have learned to take this journey one day at a time! I think we all experience that buyer's remorse but it passes when we realize this is a blessing, not a curse!
