  1. I've had a VSG I'm 5 months now, I have restrcition though by now I can eat mostly anything just in tiny amounts. I was never ever expecting it to work on it's own, I actually thought I would have to work harder. I have nearly 20lbs still to goal, but I am still amazed of how well I'm doing, I just asked my mum via skype to tell me that this is not a dream !
  2. Fantastic GT I am so happy for you too! You need to post some pictures at some point so we can see the new you!!
  3. 5 months out and NEVRE EVER one bit of regret., even when I was still in recuperation and accoding to me husband I could hardly speak and was say it hurts too much, It is one of the BEST things I have done in my life!!
  4. OK so I haven't weighed myself for a while and won't do until affter my 5 day pouch test (on day 2 now) And my period, which is due in about a week. As I said earlier in this thread my initial size goal was a size 12 UK, but now I've been buying 12's jeans, tops and even a little jacket in the sales and they fit me! I do need to loose a tiny bit more to actually look good in thme but I still can't believe I can fit into a size 12!!!!!!!!!!! New goal a size 10 and that's it or else I'll be the same size as my 12 year old daughter
  5. Why don't you tell him that you're getting your gallbladder taken out, that it has been bothering you and your doctor said that you have some tiny stones and it was better taken out in a planned surgery rather than an emergency surgery??
  6. Doing good, in bed now, I am a tiny bit hungry, had 2 protein shakes(breakfast and lunch) and soup and a cup of tea tonight, plus Water and a couple of coffees during the day, one day gone, only 4 to go
  7. If you click on recipes onthe right hand side of the website mommy2girls suggested you will find the reciipes of Soups and stuff you are allowed on each day
  8. I am 5 months post op,it was both i have to say, i did eat another similar portion a few hours, mainly turkey though
  9. It's great to read this guys as hopefully I will soon be on the maintanance stage and I am genuinely scared. My goal is not a very low goal as you can see on my ticker, but my Doctor Nutritionist Husband and I decided on a weight that we think I will be able to maintain, be healthy and comfortable in. I'm planning on a TT in December, so if a don't maintain for at least 10 months to a year I wont be allowed to get my TT! I will be watching this thread and good luck for those of you who are on this phase already!
  10. Something similar used to happen to me. I'd too was tested for diabetes, thyroids and loads of other things and nothing. When finally I convinced a doctor that it wasn't in my head he ordered an oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT), it's not just a normal diabetes test, they load you with glucose orally and take blood samples before and i think 30 and 60 min after the glucose load. I ended up with a diagnosis of insulin resistance( a type of prediabetes) that was due to my obesity and bad eating habits. I was put on a diet and started feeling better, that was a big scare for me and influenced my decision to get sleeved. If you haven't had this specific test done I would strongly advice you to ask for it, I was sick and tired of being treated like a nutcase
  11. Even if we do have GERD after being sleeved (which i don't thank God!) I'm sure the risk of dying from obesity related diseases is much greater than actually dying from esophageal cancer, just a thought
  12. Welcome lilmisdiva, the more the merrier! God, I feel so close to you guys, I sound mad when I talk to my friends about my "forum friends"!! Tomorrow it is then
  13. Thanks mp8, had a great holiday too, especially as you said I didn't put on weight! Didn't lose either as I did eat and drink a bit more than a should of. Thanks for the info, I'm so excited about my TT, it gives me incentive to work my sleeve to get to goal ASAP. I will prob be getting liposuction as well depending on whta my surgeon suggests, I can't wait
  14. I'm just gonna echo what everone else is saying here, you're doing great! I can eat quite a bit now I'm 5 months out, I don't know how much in ounces, but in the morning I can have a latte and 2 small poached eggs, usually keeps me full for a good 4 to 5 hours. For lunch I can have a small piece of chicken and a little salad in the afternoon another milky coffee and for dinner whatever I am making but a small serving, say a small dessert plate of food. I am a slow loser but I do treat myself with carby snacks now again, so it is my fault. Good luck to you on the rest of your journey
  15. Good luck with your sleeve, you won't regret your desicion! You have a lovely daughter and I bet you are very proud of her. I chose to only tell my parents mu husband and daughters of course, and a few very close friends, cause it was my desicion and I was gonna do it even if the rest of the world thought i was mad!
  16. Thanks for sharing, never heard of her, she is really pretty! I remember once I bumped into a male "friend" who I used to work with, he said what happened to you, you put on so much weight! I just answered "well at least I'm pretty and I can lose the weight, you're ugly and that cannot be fixed" I did learn to stand up to myself while I was obese, and I think that is really important
  17. The Nestle Nutren build up you can get at supermarkets or Boots, Complan you get from boots
  18. If you get complan or Nestle (powder) those are about 4£ for a pack of 4 or 5, yeah what i mean tomoro supermarkets open like today, they were open today!
  19. Yep it's a date! I usually put a bit of vaniila or chocolate flavour, I like the taste. I think supermarkets are open like on a sunday, let me know what you get!
  20. Yep, I'm on, shall we start tuesday then, time to get protein shakes?
  21. I'm planning to do something similar because I went a bit mad on Christmas and New Years Eve. I don't think it will mess up your metabolism, it might actually shake it up a bit. I've read tiffy and other peoplei think advising people who lose slowly to try the 5 day pouch test if you google it you'll see what it is (Ican't copy and paste my computer is hardly working!) If you decide to do it or whatever you decide to do please post, I need a challenge to start tommorrow (I just ate a few thorntons chocolates )
  22. Hi Mp8, long time no see (or no read maybe) Hope you had a happy Christmas and New year! Just a Question reading your TT experience, I have quite a few stretch marks the highest ones ( about 2 or 3) strat about half an inch above my bellybutton , both sides, most of them are quite low down a bit above my C sections scars. I don't have loads though, compared with a lot of people i know who aren't even fat! Did your stretch marks (at least some of them) disappear with your tummy tuck?? I', looking forward to my TT so much that I better get back on the wagon and get to goal, as I'm planning TT for december! How's it going for you, near goal i suposse?
  23. I too was self-pay (I live in the UK) If I was going to go through everything and wait for the National Health Insurance to pay for it at would have to wait for about 1 1/2 years, which I wasn't willing to do. I could have gone abroad and paid much less but I decided to self pay here in the UK. I have 3 children, 1 year, 10 and 12, and I'd rather be safe than sorry. Knowing that I have my surgeon and Nutritionist at my doorstep if there had been any problems was my main concern, as I know that there are surgeons who have great experience abroad. Just as iegal said I played it safe, wish I could have paid less (still paying for surgery and will be for the whole of this year, but no regrets whatsoever, for me it was an inversion, in my health and my familiys wellbeing!
  24. You looked cute before but now you really do look sexy! A lovely story and you are a great inspiration for so many of us. I wish you a happy new year!
  25. I completely agree with what Julie says because never in my life, even when I wasn't fat have I not obsessed over food. It was always an issue, what I ate, what I didn't eat, when I ate last, when can I eat next, did I eat too much, the list goes on and on.I asked my surgeon the first time I went to see him post op if he cast a spell on me, hypnotised me or did surgery on my brain and not on my stomach. If I hadn't experienced this feeling of not obsseseng over food myself, I would have never ever believed that it could happen by such a simple (technically at least) surgery, they took out 80 or 85% of my stomach, not my brain??!!! But this just proves that obesity, overweight, eating disorders are much more complicated than simple eat less, exercise more and lose weight. I feel truly blessed and I feel like hugging my surgeon, I nearly did this last time I saw him, but in England it's not politically correct, I'm sure if I was in Paraguay I would of squished my surgeon to death! Happy New year to you all!
