Hi Everyone, How did everyone's surgery go? I am scheduled for my revision surgery (from sleeve to GB) on July 25th. I deal with GERD and also have a hernia that will be repaired. I am excited and nervous all the same time. But i'm on a new journey in life, I've started a new job and this is just another step in my journey. I'm interested in hearing how my fellow July surgery buddies are doing. Thank you.- MD Patches
Hi Matt, any word on the patch MD research?- Perspectives on Losing Fast & Slow
Thank you for sharing that. That's really helpful. I don't have my surgery date yet but I'm in the last leg of my approval process and i know my process will be a long road too. When i attended the class for the RNY surgery i felt uncomfortable just because i felt others were wondering why are you here. I am a revision patient due to GERD and the damage it's caused internally. I need to lose at least 90lbs and to me that's a significant amount. But to others not so much. So i fully understand that we all have different journeys. I guess the important thing is to know your journey, don't get discourage when others lose weight at a faster pace than us and celebrate each accomplishment. Does anyone use the MD vitamin Patches? I started using the package for the Gastric Bypass yesterday and wondering if others use them. If so, do you like them? I don't have my surgery date yet but because of my GERD i have a hard time taking pills. So I wanted to try the patches. Thanks it's good to hear that the road I'm on is the best one and the RNY should be my last procedure to finally accomplish my desired weight without the constant GERD condition. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using BariatricPal mobile app- Where are all the 50 something bypass patients?
That's funny I'm not 57 in my head either . I guess that's why I'm willing to try this again.- Where are all the 50 something bypass patients?
Hi Everyone, I had the sleeve surgery in 2015 at 54 and it was unsuccessful. I may have lost 25 pounds and began experiencing heavy GERD and weight gain. I got very discouraged from the lack of weight Loss and the extra weight gain so I've done nothing the past 2 years relating to my weight. I'm currently 5'2 , weight 232 and 42bmi. I'm 57 and in a better mental place and considering a revision to gastric bypass. I am a little worried to go thru this again but I'm tired of the weight. Has anyone been thru this? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using BariatricPal mobile app- Purging or PBing
Hello Everybody, I had my surgery in June 2011, I lost 45lbs and seemed to come to a plateau. So I recently went to see my surgeon for a fill (I had not seen him since last year). He gave me a fill of 1.5cc which took my band to 9cc. I've been trying to watch what I eat but I'm finding that I'm either PBing or purging more than I want to. Some days I do good and other days the food just wont stay down. It's only been a couple of weeks since I got the fill so maybe I should give my body more time to get used to the band being this tight and stick to Protein drinks and soft foods. Any advice????- long time since last fill
Thank you all for your advice. That pain was so unbearable, it felt like a gas bubble that was stuck and would not burst. I kept PBing and throwing up but it did not relieve the pain I felt in my chest and back. I feel much better today, I went back on liquids and mushies.- long time since last fill
Thank you- long time since last fill
Can someone what one can drink or eat after you get a fill. I haven't had a fill in a super long time and I got one on Tuesday which puts me at 9cc. But I forgot what I can or can't eat and I ate some thing this morning that got stuck in my back and I was miserable. OMG I was doubled over for hours.- Weight Clinic/diet Pills On Top Of The Lapband

Thanks for your support and yes you are right. I do have to make a mental adjustment. Not only do I work full time, I'm also a full-time student. Usually during the school year is when I get off track with my eating and excersice habits. With staying up and studying late, I have a tendacy to eat whatever I get my hands on just to stay away to finish homework. I'm on summer break now and plan to refocus on my eating and excerise habits. One thing for sure I'm not going to give up, no matter how many times I fall.- Weight Clinic/diet Pills On Top Of The Lapband
Thank you both for your response. I needed to hear that from someone because this can be a frustrating journey at times. We put our bodies through a lot when we decided to have this surgery and for me (like everyone else) it's its important that i reach my goal. I did think I would have to resort back to my old method after surgery, but if it helps I'm sure going to do it. Thanks again for your help.- Weight Clinic/diet Pills On Top Of The Lapband
I had my lapband surgery June 22, 2011 and lost 30lbs. I had some complications the beginning of this year, couldn't keep anything down so my surgeon removed the entire 7cc of my fill. Once he determined that the band was ok and in place, we started with the fill process again. During the time my band was empty I gained at least 10lbs back so in essence I've only lost 20lbs so far. I currently have 6.5cc of fill in my band but I have not lost any more weight. It's seems like I have plateued out and can't get past this point. I really feeling like this surgery has not worked for me and want to go back to the method I was used to, the weight clinic, diet pills and B12 shots. Can I do this on top of having the lapband? I just want the weight to come off. Any Advice???? I'm desparate!!! - July surgery buddy
