  1. Has anyone experienced weight fluctuation when transitioning to full diet? I'm 6 weeks in and I've gained a couple of pounds instead of losing. Plus I've incorporated walking in my weekly routine. So I'm thinking this is normal right?
  2. No there was no damage to my pouch. And I'm almost 6 weeks out and food is going down well. I havent had any more throwing up spells.
  3. Yes that sounds good. Matter of fact I'm trying chicken lettuce wraps tonight. I'll see how that goes.
  4. Yes please call your doctor. My doctor prescribed nausea pills for me and they really helped me control the nausea.
  5. Thanks everybody. I appreciate your input.
  6. I bought the black cherry chewable vitamins and they are good too. I'm sticking with the chewables
  7. I'm in my 5th week and craving salad. Doctor has released me to normal diet but i know he meant protein/meat. Has anyone eaten salad in 5th week?
  8. Funny i just changed my vitamins today to the bariatric chewables. I'm 5 weeks postop and i started with the multivitamin pills, they are too large for me to swallow. I have a hard time swallowing medium - large pills. Then i tried the multivitamin crystals, you mix with water. This took forever to drink. So now I'm trying the chewables. We'll see!!! I think it's important to find the right combo for you. The patches might work for you too.
  9. Congratulations that's awesome!! Can I ask when was your surgery? To give me an idea of the timeline this could happen.
  10. Good point. Such a hard habit to break, matter of fact i don't even know I'm eating fast. It's really a conscious effort.
  11. OK that makes sense thank you.
  12. Has anyone experienced burping more than normal after surgery? Whether I'm eating something, drinking water, etc consuming nothing Im burping. Now it's definately a relief when i burp but was just wondering why so often.
  13. Good article thanks for sharing
  14. Thanks, yes that's what ive done, sticking to the food i can tolerate because i know i need the nutrition. But everything you've said makes sense.
  15. Anyone having Issues with their smell and tastebuds. Smelling food right now makes me ucky and my tastebuds are totally off. Nothing tastes as it should which makes it very hard to eat my puree menu. I get down but it's struggle. Anyone else experience this?
  16. Thanks Midnightsun. And I'm hanging on tight [emoji1]!
  17. I'm getting most of my protein in its the extra fluids on top of the Protein I'm having a hard time with. But I'm doing better.
  18. It's 2-5 lbs. That's what i was thinking, it could be the timing that i weigh plus water weight. But i just got a little nervous. I'm only a little over 2 weeks post op. So i guess its normal the body has to adjust.
  19. Is it normal to gain weight during the puree stage? I've been losing weight nicely but now it seems like I'm gaining. It is hard to get in all the protein so I'm working on that. But just wanted to know if anyone else has had this experience.
  20. Congrats Ginger and thanks for sharing. I had my revision on 7/25. I've had no issues with GERD. My doctor has me on Prilosec, 40mg for the next couple of months. Stomach is still sore and swollen, but i get my staples out on Monday so that's a plus (i think [emoji3]). So far I've lost 20lbs, YEAH!! WELCOME TO THE RNY SIDE!!
  21. Has anyone experienced gas pain so painful all you can do is lie down. I took a pain pill to put me to sleep hoping that when i wake up the gas pain would have moved. It didn't help, I'm getting ready to drink hot tea hopefully that will help.
  22. Hi Kadie, I was supposed to travel with my family to Laughlin, a 3 hour drive to attend a friends funeral. Saturday will be my 9 day post-op and I was told I should not take this trip. I agree with the others, you should consult with your doctor because that is a long flight.
  23. I just had surgery on July 25th, and i just started a new job so i truly understand about being to busy and trying to balance life with this new regimen. I had to set alarms on my phone to remind me about my meals and to get my protein in. Otherwise, i would forget because I'm not hungry at all either. Good luck!!
  24. Hi Everyone, I just had revision surgery on Thursday, July 25th for the same symptoms, GERD, hiatal hernia. Stayed in the hospital 2 nights and my biggest discomfort was the soreness in my throat from the throat tube during surgery. OMG i couldn't talk or swallow, so drinking water or soup broth was very painful. It's been 2 days and the pain has subsided significantly, so i'm finally getting my fluids in. I feel blessed and can't wait to see the results of the weight loss. Good luck and God bless you during this part of your journey.
  25. I waNt to thank you for your prayers. I'm doing good headed home.
