  8. Sad but true..... It's about keeping focus on what we want.... and the will power to say no.... this is easier said then done
  9. Like what? Please explain!
  10. This is such an amazing feeling, is it not? I'm almost 2yrs post op and sometimes it still doesn't register. When I walk into a store, out of habit I still want to go to the plus section. I'll pick up a size 3 and say "no way" this will fit me" and I go try then on and they do....It's still a shocker.

  20. I guess that we all have unique and different experiences post op. I can say honestly that I did not go through a "resentment" phase. My issues were more of a mental acceptance of who I was looking at in the mirror (a different person) and dealing with that aspect, not so much what I could not consume because of being restricted. I'm happy that you are doing better!
  21. Congrats! Keep us posted!
  22. Unfortunately it happens.. I lost a lot of hair around the third month up until 7 or 8th.. I took my vitamins and was taking 5000 Biotin... it scared the pants out of me. I can tell you that around the 11 month, I noticed new hair coming in... So don't worry.. it will soon pass...
  23. Have any of you experienced foot shrinkage..lol... I had to get rid o most of my shoes... Went from an 81/2 to a size 71/2

  26. I'm almost 2yrs post op... Prior to surgery I hated exercise, especially running. I incorporated walking and running into my exercise routine as soon as I could. I have to say that running is now my first choice for exercise. I love it. Last month I participated in my first 5k in Puerto Rico called RUN LIKE A DIVA... it was awesome and the feeling was undescribable. I finished it in 34 minutes and came in #19 from 72 women in my age category... I would of never thought in a million years that I would love it as much as I do
  27. When I was obese I'd go to a restaurant and order an appetizer, main course, and dessert.. I'd go home and less then two hrs. later eat again....I remember how that felt.. At the moment your enjoying the food but then you'd feel guilty and sick... The relationship that I have with food is so different now. I'm almost 2yrs post op.. When going to a restaurant , I will order either an appetizer or a main course that will last me for two meals. As most Spanish people, I love spice.. It was difficult at first but i gradually added it to my foods and have no problems whatsoever.. I had a 6in. oven roasted chicken on whole wheat (subway) for lunch today and it was loaded with jalapenos.... I cook at home more then I do going out to eat...
  28. Give yourself credit for recognizing and accepting what's going on and assuming responsibility for your actions... The most important thing is that you ARE doing something about it... better now then 30 or 40 lbs later...when we slip up---- we get back on track... don't feel discouraged..you can do this and then some Get on a strict regimen for the next couple of weeks and if I were you I would do cardio and weights..I'm sure it will come off in no time. I have been there in my journey as well.. I work for law enforcement and it's hard to pass up the infamous doughnuts daily... there are times when i give in to temptation but I think that getting on that scale at least 1x a week keeps me grounded. You will be o.k.... Thanks for sharing because all of us need encouragement
