  1. Welcome! I'm still a newbie as well. This forum is awesome! So many others that are and have gone through the process, so if you have any questions...ask away!
  2. I love the Greek yogurt! I get FAGE 0% plain (15 gms Protein) and add my sugar-free flavored syrups. Raspberry is the BOMB!!
  3. I've read a lot of others posts pertaining to Post-Op diets, but I am somewhat confused still about the liquid stage and Protein drinks. My question is: Are we allowed to add stuff (fruits, PB, syrups, yogurt, SF Jello powders, etc...) into our protein drinks/shakes in the full liquid stage? I CANNOT stand the smell or after taste of the Protein Drinks, but have found that if I can add a little PB, syrup, etc...I can handle it.
  4. Well...I rec'd an e-mail from my doc's office saying they were having to push my surgery date out from Mar 14 to Mar 16 due to the doc's wife scheduling the family Spring Break vacation for the weekend prior to instead of after. So...that's not too awful bad. Just hope it doesn't change again. I am so ready!!!!!! Anyone else having surgery on Mar 16 with Dr. Nick?
  5. Well...day one of the pre-op diet has come and gone. I cannot complain too much though, along with my 5 protein shakes, I am allowed one meal consisting of 5 ozs of protein (meat/cheese), 2 cups of veggies (non-starchy) and one serving of fat. Still...it is not a lot of food for a entire day! Just have to stay focused and keep the FAITH.
  6. We are NOT perfect! We all have some kind of issue with food or we wouldn't have had to take such extreme measures. You have done very well and should feel proud! Please try not to beat yourself up too much. Just buckle down, stay focused and do a little walking (if you can). Keep the FAITH!
  7. Wanted to take a poll to see how our "Hunger" has changed AFTER surgery. Thanks for participating!!
  8. Here's a link to some great Protein shake Recipes:
  9. Thanks you guys! I feel a lot better about my decision having had time to think it over this weekend. I appreciate all your replies and words of encouragement. This forum rocks!!
  10. Doug...when you say 3 weeks liquid, is this when I can start adding things to my shakes (fruits), and liquefying Soups and such?
  11. Do we need to bring our own Protein Powder to the hospital to put in our clear liquids ? Don't we start the Protein directly after surgery? Confused??
  12. What a great thing to do for others. Thank you! I am so ready...no matter what level of pain I experience. I'm looking forward to losing my hip-twin! In my 20's I weighed 125, now I am twice as big. A whole other me attached to the hip!! Anyway, thanks again for sharing!
  13. Is the nutirionist not with Dr. Nick? I would go but what the surgeon says...I think.
  14. Thanks Doug! My schedule is all out of whack! I had already been approved for the surgery with another surgeon and decided to go with Dr. Nick instead. So I have been dealing with the girls in the office getting the approval transferred over and they have scheduled my surgery for March 14th, but my actual consultation isn't until this next Friday with Dr. Nick. I have to start my pre-op diet tomorrow and since I don't have all the info from them yet, was curious of what the post-op diet consisted of, I take it you are with Dr. Nick.
  15. Lol Never thought I would hear that from someone!
  16. Can anyone tell me what Dr. Nick's Post-Op diet plan is? Thanks!!
  17. Well Poo!!! I just new that was going to be the answer. Guess it will be chicken soup for a long while.
  18. I have been trying out some of my samples this evening and GROSS!!!! My questions are: 1) Can we have milk in our shakes in stage 1 (clear liquids)? 2) If so, can we add things into the shakes (strawberries, blueberries, bananas, peanut butter) in stage 1 as well? I can not stand the shakes themselves, so I need to mix something with them or after 2 or 3 I won't be able to swallow them anymore. If I can't, then I guess I will be on just the Unjury Chicken Soup until I can find one I can handle. Any suggestions??
  19. Thanks Karen! I am looking forward to meeting him on the 4th and seeing what else I need to do. I hope you are able to get your surgery soon as well. Movetolose...thanks for your reply! Not much longer for you either.
  20. I know I saw a preparation list of things to have at home for after surgery. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!!!

  22. Welcome! I'm a newbie too. So...don't have a story yet but in a little over two weeks, my story will begin! Hope your journey is a great one!
  23. Dr. Nick will be doing my surgery as well (Mar 14). I start my pre-op diet Monday. My questions is... What is your diet post-op? I'm getting ready to order
