  1. Well I am sorry, I haven't been on here lately. Been very difficult time in my life. Really at a stand still with my weight loss. Had to have rotator cuff tear repair surgery, which means that exercise has been out. Still in a sling at this time. Then on July 8, my mother-in-law passed away. When I married my husband, she took me as her own daughter because my mother had died in 1997. I miss her so much, so still trying to get used to her not being around. She really encouraged my weight...

  2. Hope all is going well for you!

  3. Well been going to Zumba at least twice a week and really feel a big difference. It is pretty amazing that I can exercise for an hour at one time. I suprised my self. I have to admit I think I am addicted now to Zumba!!

  4. Doing well, I am trying to get to 100 pounds lost by my 6 months surgiversary. I am going to do this.

  5. I feel like I am at a stand still with my weight loss. I am losing alot of my hair, why isn't my weight coming off too. LOL

  6. Deb, I am doing fine. Weight loss seems to have stalled at the moment, but it is okay. I have been going to Zumba and loving it. So maybe that is some of my stall, not really a stall, but a muscle gain, who knows, just know that I am just going to keep working hard at my goal. Hope all is well with you! Lisa

  7. Well I think I am not getting enough protein in because my hair seems to be falling out like crazy.

  8. Well start Zumba tomorrow night and ready to get this weight loss really going.

  9. I was on Lantus, Actos and Glucophage preop. The day after surgery until present I have been med free with normal blood sugars. I go back to the doctor for an hemoglobin A1C in two weeks I will see then how my sugar has been really doing without meds. Sleeve is the best thing I ever did.
  10. I hope nobody gets this stomach flu that is going around. It was the worse 24 hours I have had in a long time. It was worse than surgery for me. Anyway, I am back to normal today, if you call me normal...

  11. Hope everyone is having a Happy Holiday!!!!

  12. It's going well. I hope all is well with you.

  13. Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone!!!!

  14. Well, I know this probably has been asked a million time, well here goes a million and one. What are you normally eating after you are on mushies? I just need some new ideas on how much you eat and what you eat in a days time.

    Eating everday

I just barely tolerate cottage cheese, and I have tried greek yogurt and it was nasty, but adding those syrups may do the trick. I am counting carbs too. Deb, how many carbs do you get in a day? I am having trouble sometimes getting any carbs in because I have a hard time trying to get all my protein in as I can not stand Protein drinks ever since surgery. I somtimes get 25 to 35 carbs in a day, do you think that too much I am only getting about 600 to 800 calories a day. By the way, I went to Perkins the other night, not sure if anybody has Perkins in your area or not, but they have a spicy mango talapia. It was so good. Of course I could only eat part of the talapia. My sister winded up eating my baked potato and the veggies were disgusting. I been having this fish thingy lately, baked of course. Oh well, I think I will try the syrup in the greek yogurt and that will help out a lot and give a lot of different taste instead of just the same old chicken salad and tuna salad all the time. Thanks for all your input it really helps a lot!!!!!
  16. Well I just wanted to show my progress. Sorry about the black and white picture, but that is the only way I could get it from the doctor's office. First picture done on 08-18-10 and then one month postop today 11-10-10.
  17. I am down 40 pounds and 16 inches all over.
  18. Deb - Well, things are going fine. I am still not use to eating yet. My eyes are still a lot bigger than my stomach. Other than that, things seems to be going pretty good. Weight loss is going pretty good. You weight loss is amazing!! Congrats!! Hope you have a good week.

    Protein Shake Alternatives

I tried a bunch of different Protein shakes prior to surgery and I could handle them all, but now since surgery, they make me a little sick to my stomach, so I have stayed away from them. My doctor allows his patients to go to mushies which I am only 2 weeks out. He said that a long as it can be blended up then eat it. Somethings are pretty gross blended, but I have found that tuna fish and chicken salad can be mushed up pretty good and I take my time and it goes down pretty good. Needless to say I can only eat about 2 to 3 ounces. I remember my NUT saying that getting protein from food is a lot better than the supplement anyway. Lisa
  20. Hi all, I am doing pretty good since my surgery on 10/18. I have been having one problem, not to drink anything for at least 20 to 30 minutes after I eat. I have always been a person who drinks with meals and I guess this is a real hard habit to break. Does anybody have any tips for me to stop doing this, did anybody else have problems with this too? Side note: This is my first day back to work. I can't believe all the compliments I have gotten on my weight loss for other employees. I have lost 33 pounds thus far and I can't believe what a difference it makes. I am off of my blood pressure medicines and all my diabetic medicines. Even if I don't lose any more weight (which I know I will), the surgery has been well worth it just for reversing those issues. I hope everyone has a great week. Lisa
  21. Got my drain out today woohoo!!!! I feel like a different person now. I can't wait t get back to work so I can get to some type of normal routine. I am definitely not a homebody. Hope everyone has a good day!

  22. Well, it has been one whole week since surgery. Kinda feeling down, but I'm okay. I am down 33 pounds that includes before surgery weight loss.

  23. Well tomorrow is the big day, I can't believe it is here. I so excited!!!!

  24. Well 6 days until surgery. Preop diet getting pretty easy, can't believe I am saying that. Can't wait until Monday

  25. How's it going? You getting anxious. I am so ready for this. Hope everything goes well for you. I will try to post as soon as I can after surgery. Good luck!!
