  1. Yep! Some close said, "you are too thin!" Now, I know at 140 and 5'8" I'm not but... Lol
  2. You night want to ask Dr about Meloxacam. I have degenerative disks and like you the flare ups happen about 3-4 times year. Doing a particularly prolonged one last year, he prescribed Omneproxale (Prilosec) one a day to coat stomach and meloxacam which is only taken ONCE a day. Like taking 4 sleeve or 8 Advil. Awesome and the Prilosec protects my stomach. I only use when have to but so much better for me. That and flexiril!
  3. Oh, yes. No cookie, cake or candy phases me when it goes Down. So I try to steer clear butast week I lost the battle and have chowedp down too often on vanilla wafer cake, magic bars and no able chocolate oatmeal cookies. Sigh.
  4. 3 1/2 years out and my stomach stills makes constant noise. At times, embarrassing. Um, like when getting a massage and the massage therapist says, "oh, wow! You must be really hungry!" Lol
  5. Yes! She has finished the process and never asked me any thing and it dawned on me about weight etc. I made SURE to get my 140 on there! LOL
  6. Love it! Yep, brings out the "uglies" in some folks. Ha!
  7. I'm kinda surprised at some of the data. I would have thought more re-ops with band than sleeve. If I read that correctly. Okay, I did read wrong! band had higher!
  8. Or from the husband of FORTY YEARS who knows I am one who loves receiving presents and hands me my "card" with money the DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS so that it "won't get lost" on Christmasday??? I give up.
  9. Amen!!! I feel the same way. Of course, when I told my Hubs about the DL pic he said, "You always looked good to me!" .
  10. Okay, I have just experienced something I have NEVER thought would ever happen! I had to renew my drivers license. First since before WLS (3 1/2 yrs). I am Shocked. I LIKE the pic! I had to do a double take and then grinned from ear to ear! I'm sure people thought I was strange grinning widely at a DL! LOL Anybody had a similar NSV lately you want to share and give us some joy???
  11. Okay, THIS is a first! Huge NSV. I LIKE my Drivers license picture. First time EVER! lol
  12. Oh, yes!!! Celebrate LIFE!!
  13. SherylJane, I've always wanted to ski just never had opportunity and not sure I would have the nerve to jump off the ski lift! ha! Now, Kim, I do think I would tackle a rock wall and intend to as well as a zip line adventure. Sounds so fun to me!
  14. Nothing like an old pic to spur you on, is there!? LOL
  15. I've never had one pre or post VSG. 3 1/2 years out.
  16. Wow! What a fantastic loss in just a year! Congrats to you. You look awesome!
  17. Yep, from reading a lot of the updates there are quite a few of us at the same place in life. Kids growing up or grown with their own kids and lives and changes to old traditions. As they say, the only thing PERMANENT is CHANGE! LOL.
  18. Finding my lovely Mom on the floor with a massive stroke. She was and had been overweight all her life and had a host of other health problems including diabetes and A Fib. Sadly, I lost her that Christmas Day 4 years ago and 3 1/2 years ago I had VSG!!!! Never regretted it one minute!!!
  19. No change for me other than I will now have to do more "mail in" prescriptions if I have maintenance drugs I have Tricare Prime which is not affected YET.
  20. I actually could care less but I've "been there and done that!" Ha! I am very happy with 110 pound less flat but, skinny leg, little boobies body!
  21. First off- Merry Christmas to all! I agree it seems to get more and more hectic. We did have a great day yesterday and this morning with my daughter and two Grands opening gifts and lazing around for a couple hours. They have moved on now to their next stop and I just vacuumed and picked up. So it's just me and the hubs. Quiet and peaceful. Strangely, I don't feel very peaceful. . The family dynamic shifted for us this year. My family is very small anyway and both kids somewhat doing their own thing which is what is SUPPPOSED to happen but... I think the realization has kinda settled on me that I am NOW at that stage in life where we are not the focal so much. Does that make sense? Now, I have to redefine ME and what I want to be, accomplish, live. And it's always been somewhat through children, grandchildren. Anyway, we shall see. Not depressed. Don't want to give that impression. Just more reflective than anything and aware that I will have choices and lifestyle changes ahead. Thankfully, there is not a huge amount of food around. A little cake left and somehow bars and Hawaiian Rolls Sandwiches. (I LOVE them!). So far so good and back on track this week! Love you all!!
  22. Beautiful girls!
  23. I have a closet full of "smaller" "after WLS" clothes that I keep hanging on to thinking "what if?" I realized this week I have not found ONE THING in that closet I can wear now so it's ALL going to resale. Lynda, I know what you mean. We still have those images in our brains that program how we continue to think and "see" ourselves. Everytime I pull out these clothes and hold them up I think, "there is no way that fits!" Only to find sometimes it's too big! That's a good thing!!! Enjoy your new robe!!!!!!!
