  1. I am three weeks and 2 days out. I am starving. So...I joined weight watchers and it has helped a lot. I am not as hungry and believe it or not, a shake with 25 grams of Protein is only 3 points. I suggest you use your shakes to help you out with the hunger. EVERYONE, KEEP YOUR HEAD UP. KEEP SAYING TO YOURSELF, I THINK I CAN, I THINK I CAN, AND YOU WILL. Drink a lot of fluids. Walk around the block do your best and that will be good enough. Dont give up.
  2. If it does not get any better, crush a Senokot, it is a mild laxitive and does not give you cramps or rush you to the bathroom. CRUSH IT UP. It tastes really nasty.
  3. Every physician is so different. I am going in on Thursday for post op and will probably be doing so much better yet again. I am still on Clear liquids according to my physician and will not be on soft food until after Thursday. I can hear the rumble and I feel hungry, however, I just walk when I am hungry and then the gas passes. It is really mind over matter these past few days. I know I can't eat so I don't. How are you doing with the shoulder pain has it subsided at all?
  4. I am glad to hear you are doing better. I am feeling much better as well. For the past two days, I have been waking up feeling like i am about to vomit. I get the watery feeling in my mouth, spit it out and drink some Water. It is a little scary for me. I hope it is not acid reflux. I have heard several horror stories. Back to work tomorrow. I will something else to focus on and plan to take it very very slow.
  5. the healing process for each person is different. I was banded on Monday. I took the bandages off today and today there is one tiny mark near the bottom of my bra line and one near my navel. I don't anticipate having any huge scars and I was told the same thing as you. There is an over the counter cream Mederma which is supposed to work very well. Good Luck to you.
  6. Surgery April 4, 2011, felt like I was in a really bad car accident. However, today I feel like a million bucks, I do feel a little hungry. Is anyone else feeling this way?
  7. Hi there, about to be banded on Monday. Please note, I am not a healthcare professional, however, I think it would be in your best interest to get up and walk around. If you are unable to go outside, just walk back and forth in your house. I hear you will be feeling much better very soon. Good luck to you and take care.
  8. click on my ticker and it will let you choose your own. then you cut and paste to your content on this page. APRIL BAND FOLK ROCK!!!!!CONGRATULATIONS. I wish you a speedy recovery and great success.
  9. Scheduled for April 4th, on the pre op diet and a little hungry. Nervous as hell.
  10. I'm scheduled for the 4th. Already on the liquid diet. I am frightened, scared and a second guessing right now.
  11. I thought about it and thought about it and finally I sat in during a seminar. There was a woman smaller than I eating McDonald's and I thought you have got to be kidding me. I can't believe this lady is in here with McDonald's. Doesn't she realize we are a group of hungry people. Doesn't she realize the change has to start now. Making good choices, like choosing surgery and choosing to change your life FOREVER. I was determined to make this happen, so I scheduled an appointment with my pcp, had a blood test, ekg and a long talk. At the end of the meeting, he asked me if I ever considered lap band. He noticed, I had been on a seesaw with my weight over the years and gave me the name of a surgeon. Well, nonetheless I did a lot of research and I decided on someone else, I went to meet them a nutritionist and a mid level provider who were very supportive. The best thing I did was START the journey. Now I have a surgery date 4/4/2011, and I am still doing a lot of research. It seems there is a lot of info out there and the more you read and talk to others the more comfortable you get with your decision. I am down 17 pounds, however, I am hungry and wondering if I can make it on the pre-op liquid. I can only say, stay focused and informed. Good Luck to you.
  12. April 4th. and counting, I am a little nervous about the pre op diet. anyone have any suggestions?
