  1. Where's the "like" button on this here Vertical Sleeve Talk? "LIKE"
  2. Everyone says Miralax works the best...but be careful. I almost died taking it. SERIOUSLY! I was never allergic to anything my whole life and the main ingredient in Miralax broke me out in hives all over my body and my throat was closing. Had to have an Epi shot. Find out from your doctor what he would suggest.
  3. So, I was helping out this lady who told me she recently lost 100 pounds and was looking for a new motorcycle jacket. I told her I recently lost 40 pounds myself and we started to talk a little more. I'm open to how I've been losing weight and it reallly doesn't bother me one way or another how people feel about it. So I told her I had Vertical Sleeve. She then confessed to me that she has the band. So We started to compare notes and look at each others bellies (sounds weird 'eh?) I have to say...I'M SO HAPPPPPPY I DID VSG! She let me feel the port thing that they do the fills in and I think I'd freak out if I had that in me. It felt like a big piece of scar tissue. Plus I HATE needles and would not be happy with "fills" She was totally rad and actually was interested in revision herself. Said it was the best thing I ever did. I'm not knocking the band, but I'm glad I didn't go that route.
  4. Hey there, I was sleeved on the 21st. of January...1 day after you. I'm only down 40 pounds! YOU ARE DOING GREAT!
  5. I feel you totally. My husband eats and makes me want to barf now. He eats healthy but A LOT! We at one point would literally compete! I just eat at separate times now
  6. I'm right there with you! I finally got into a sauna and hot tub....I got out and lost 5 pounds AHHAHA
  7. Yea, if it was a coworker I'd beat him up. I work for Harley-Davidson and sometimes we get that one "total jerk" but my coworkers are all awesome and supportive. Everyone here knows I had WLS. I only work with 3 women out of a staff of 50! And one of them is the owners wife =)
  8. AGREED =) I skipped the chips and gave the resident Golden Retriever here at work a big hug instead. Chubby is a horrible word! Thanks =)
  9. Thanks a-hole. This is what some total jerk told me at work. Here I am all happy to be 36 pounds thinner and some Jack Daniels breath monster tells me "I like chubby girls like you" I was mortified! =( makes me wanna get a bag of potato chips and gorge in frustration! Sorry I'm venting, but what a troll a$$hole!
  10. I'm nearly 3 months out and have only lost 36 pounds! You are doing great. My advice...stay off the scale everyday! Don't worry, it will happen!
  11. That,,,,,,is an AWESOME IDEA! Someone suggested I do something like that too. I have a feeling my incisions will fade over time. I'm weird in the way I get my tattoos. I'm working on a chest plate right now....but not tattooing my boobs. I think the incision tattoos are a definate possibility. I've been slathering Mederma over the incisions since they closed and I can see a bit of a difference =)
  12. I'm heavily tattooed. Both arms are completely sleeved. No change ywt but I'm only about 35 pounds down. The only ones I think that won't change will be my knuckle tattoos! Haahahaa
  13. THANK YOU! I too became lactose intolerant and can't stand the Lactaid. Muscle Milk is good, I've tried it.
  14. Thank you for the supportive reply. I got home and steped on the scale and couldn't believe my eyes! I actually LOST 3 pounds! I did really good. Eating only protein and brought some pre mixed shakes. At our "romantic dinner" I only had a few pieces of the antipasti and the seared sea scallops. In the morning at the buffet breakfast, I loaded a plate FULL! I felt horrible because I only ate one bite of each item I chose. I did try to cut small portions off. I always hate wasting food. We always had a rule in my family, "WASTE NOT WANT NOT" but I have to let that go. Thanks again for your response =)
  15. My problem is Mineral Water. Not soda...I love my Pelligrino and Apollinaris! =( I also love Champagne more than any other cocktail. I'm too scared to try any of it yet. But maybe I'll test a sip soon.
  16. So hubby and I are having a romantic getaway in the lovely town of Reno....the place where dreams get shattered! my dilemma is there is food everywhere here! Fuzzy (DH) has been eating like an ox and I keep having these feelings like I want to keep up. Time now to hit the breakfast buffet =( Just a vent, because for the first time since surgery I'm actually missing food =(
  17. Haha...I had to tell some people that they do have doctors in Mexico too! I'm almost 3 months out and feel FANTASTIC!
  18. I'm not totally there yet, but I can understand the dilema. I have a friend who is small and she's had 3 kids. We are both talking about our "tummy tucks" when I get down to goal =) She showed me her loose skin and I can imagine that is what I'm gonna look like. I don't think lipo will do it for me....a lil' tuck and pull maybe. I don't think it's being vain. I think you worked really hard to get to where you are at! Lucky you! My only concern when I get there is I have a good surgeon. I remember reading about Tara Reid's bad tummy tuck in People magazine years ago I don't know what she had, but I remember reading it was "lumpy"
  19. mine was due the day of surgery, didn't come till 4 days after, but the next month it was like clockwork on the 21st. this month..I started today the 18th. My curse is the same as it's always been =)
