  1. THANK YOU! I needed to be reminded that the fact that the weight will be gone forever is the goal....NOT the speed. I guess I am a little worried (were you) that I will have the surgery and not lose weight. I am more worried about that then the surgery itself. Thank you for the tips! I sat through two long days of Nut classes and I learned more with your feedback. I look forward to having surgery on 6 December and using all of your help to lose 70-80lbs and living a long healthy life with out health issues related to obesity.
  2. Oh my! That is one crazy story. I would think your doctor is going to write an article for a medical journal about you and your little baby. Can't wait to hear how things go over the next in a little over 7 months from now (and see a picture). Good Luck to your family. By the way is this your first?fv
  3. Oh...I can't wait to write a five month post surgery update...just praying it will be full of great progress like yours.
  4. Wow, it is so encouraging to read about your success. Thank you for posting your experiences. I hope you start to feel better soon.
  5. By the time you read this...congratulations. I am sure you did great. Can't wait to read about your experiences. I am scheduled for 6 December. Also a bit afraid of the pain. Never had surgery before and I have only been put under for a short time. Let me know how the pain was.
  6. Said a little pray for you that everything went well today...hope to hear from you in a few days.
  7. So here is my question…I have been reading everything I can on this site. I have noticed that most people lose somewhere around 10 pounds a month after surgery. Then there are those who are 4-5 months out that have only lost 25 pounds or so…How do I make sure I am one of those who lose 10 pounds a month? I want to be successful at this…Those of you who have done well what do you think makes the difference? Those of you that have NOT been successful what is holding you back? Your honesty is appreciated! Thank you for being willing to help those of us on the other side of this journey, prepare.
  8. I just found out I will have surgery on 6 December. It is nice to see others will have it just a few days away. Maybe we can keep each other company on our road to a new life. At first I was a little apprehensive about having the surgery right before Christmas. I was hoping for the week of Thanksgiving, so that I would be in better shape come Christmas. My pre-op is the 18 November and that is the soonest they could schedule the surgery. I have jumped through ever hoop and hurdle they have given me. It has been a long journey but I can see an end in sight. (I am sure most of you feel the same way) Christmas is the most important holiday to me and I decided that with all my family coming here (Southern California) it may be better for me to be on liquids. I won’t be tempted to try mushy foods that are not good for me. I am looking forward to enjoying the season without centering everything I do on food. I may even enjoy the holiday more. I will be praying for all of you that have surgery on or around my date. Blessings
  9. I had an evaluation done on the 6th of this month. It lasted about 35 minutes. Most of the questions the physiologist asked were about me. She asked things like…why I chose to have the surgery, why I don’t just diet, if I wanted any more kids, how my husband felt about the surgery, how the rest of my family felt, if anyone else suffered from obesity in my family, who would care for my kids during the hospital stay and until I could lift my 1year old. She asked me if I ever suffered from depression and what stressors I have in my life right now. That is about it. I was nervous but just tried to answer the questions honestly. It will be over before you know it! Hope that helps…
