I USED AN ICE PACK FOR TWO DAYS STRAIGHT AFTER SURGERY AND MY INCISIONS HEALED QUICK AND NO PAIN TO SPEAK OF.

I WAS BANDED AUG 2 2011.I HAVE LOST 50 LBS SO FAR BUT TOOK 7 MOS FOR RESTRICTION.I NEED TO LOOSE 150 MORE.I LOVE THIS BAND AND IT WILL SAVE MY LIFE.WOULD DO IT AGAIN AND ONLY WISH I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS ALOT SOONER....

I ALSO DRINK REGULAR COFFEE EVERY MORNING AND I PUT VANILLA PROTEIN POWDER IN IT TO GET MY PROTEIN START FOR THE DAY.

I WENT THROUGH THE SAME THING.I AM 9MOS OUT.AT 8 DAYS I ATE pizza AND WASHORRIFIED HOW EASY IT WENT DOWN.THEN FELT GUILTY.YOU CAN EAT,DRINK WHATEVER AND HOW FAST ETC AT THE EARLY STAGES.THERE IS NOTHING WITH BAND TO STOP YOU.DOESNT MEAN WE SHOULD.WE CALL THIS TIME PRIOR TO PROPER RESTRICTION BANSTER HELL.TAKE THIS TIME TO PRACTICE GOOD EATING HABITS SMALL BITES,CHEW SLOW,SIP drinks ETC FOR FUTURE WHEN IT IS NOT AN OPTION ONE DAY IN THE FUTURE.IT TOOK ME MONTHS TO GET THERE AND LOST VERY LITTLE WEIGHT UNTIL 7TH FILL.I HAVE A 14CC BAND I HAVE 12CC IN IT AND JUST STARTED LOOSING AT 11CC IN.NOT EVERYONE IS LIKE THIS SOME GET RESTRICTION ALOT SOONER BUT THIS IS ME.HANG IN THERE YOUR TIME WILL COME.RELAX FOLLOW THE RULES BEST YOU CAN AND LET THE REST TAKE ITS PLACE.HOPE THIS HELPS...

I FIND IF I DRINK A CUP OF COFFEE IN THE MORNING THINGS GO DOWN EASIER.SO I STARTED PUTTING VANILLA PROTEIN POWDER IN MY FIRST CUP AND HAVE VANILLA COFFEE WHICH IS TASTY TO ME.

sometimes some deodorants or antiprisperants can cause lumps in arm pit area.maybe you should have a culture done.to see if its just impurities coming out or something more serious.

this sounds good i never heard of it so how much ketsup and how much cranberry sauce to make sauce and whole berry or jellied cranberry sauce and how many meatballs? thanks ginny

none of my incisions are near the bellybutton so this might be why.i hear it takes longer for ones near or in that area.keep it clean is all you can do i guess. if it gets red or looks infected get to the doctor cause that is probably port area and dangerous if so. good luck.

I go to the bariatric solutions where dr. stowers is. I had my lapband surgery by dr. dirk rodriguez his partner at the time on aug 2 2011. dr. stowers is the one there now cause dr. dirk left. i saw dr. stowers for my 1 week follow up after surgery. he seemed nice and my first fill on aug 30 will be done there not sure who does fills yet him or nurses. i'll know more by then.my surgery went wonderful. they are both known for excelence.they use the glue strips on the cuts and i had very little discomfort no bleeding or oozing at all im a little over 3 wks out and i was amazed at my easy recovery at 57 yrs old and over 300 lbs. i was very worried. it was a breeze for me and i hear both doctors are similar in their procedures.dr dirk put my incisions in a area that was least to bother me i came home and hopped up on my bed to get on my mini laptop computer no problems.the lift chair i bought in anticipation i would need to help me up and to sleep in as it reclines i never used it my husbands easy chair now lol. any way i cant tell u enough how happy i am with that place and im sure dr. stowers is no different.i had very minimal gas no shoulder pain.took no meds after second day. i think you will be pleased by the outcome of your surgery.i also stayed overnight because of my insurance and i kept refilling my ice pack they gave me it helps too.also had no nausea ever... good luck hope this helps

maybe you should call your doctor because mine were healed by three weeks. my doctor put the glue strips on mine though and he said they heal better and faster that way. and i never bled or oosed either. so i dont know if this helps you or not. id call the doctors office and check to be sure.

post just wondering how many people cheated on the full liquid stage or started mushies earlier than they were supposed to we are all addicts so who will admit and help those that have failed.im talking after surgery.i did i had cream soup early and mash potatoes allowed on full liquid stage.im nine days out today i want to eat overeasy eggs or something.anybody else eating ahead of time?and what?

yes i needed to lose 20 lb prior to my insurance approval .i did everything psyche eval, sleep apnea, 3 mo supervised with regular doctor and i was the holdup could not get the whole 20 lbs off. i went up and down.took me over four months to do it.i would loose and start eating again and gain.i finally started going swimming in 100 degree temps in our lake every evening.i stayed under the bridge for protection from the sun. finally lost it. then i picked a surgery date right away no break so i wouldnt gain back before surgery.i also gained 5 lb during 1wk liquid phase.so yes i do know what ur going through.i am 8 days post op today yay.

in my case it envolves a nutritionist to guide my food habits.also a excersise trainer that helps me to do the right ones to fit my needs or disabilities.the fills as well as surgeon appts.there is a whole staff of people at my bariatric clinic to offer a variaty of different kinds of needs to help you get healthy and reach goals.hope this helps you.

yay i was banded aug 2nd. its been a breeze for me. so looking forward to my new way of life.good luck to you that are still waiting.

well i did it. this surgery for me is a breeze. thank you dr. dirk rodriguez at bariatric solutions in decatur texas. he placed my four small incisions in a place where they are least likely to get in way of daily life. i am thrilled. my surgery aug 2nd.very little gas no nausea.yay im banded and plan to be a healthy person soon.starting weight 326 and 5'3 age 57 female.hope this encourages trhose still waiting to be banded. ginny echols

try a pillow or rolled towel pressed against your tummy while u push might help a bit.

I am from granbury texas and i will be banded in july . I travel to bariatric solutions in decatur texas and my surgeon will be Dr. dirk.

i dont know if it works for weight depression or not because i dont know if that was why i was depressed or not but i can tell u that for depression itself it certainly does. I was very depressed a few years back crying all the time for no reason and over anything as well as grouchy and easily overwhelmed by simple lifes problems.I went to my doctor and told her and she gave me a prescription for lexapro and a few days later i realised i hadnt cried lately as well as my moods were improved. my hubbie noticed it too and said dont stop taking whtever im on he liked the new me .lol so i take the meds and were both happy.ha ha hope this helps.

I am listening to all the stories of port problems and wondering are these all realise bands only? I AM TO BE BANDED NEXT MONTH.however they are giving me the lapband system and not the realize band. does anyone have this problem with the lapband system?this all sounds scarry.

i too have not had the surgery yet june or july i hope.im having trouble trying to loose the 20 lbs expected by my insurance company to even get the surgery.5 lbs or a little more.i can truly relate.god knows i hate excersize.but i cannot give up i must keep trying if i want to live and i do.im 57 years and 340 lbs at 5*3 and my portion size is a problem.good luck to all of us. ginny

i am 57 and cant wait to be banded sometime in june or july and my mother inlaw is 67 and was banded april 24.we are never too old to make healthy changes in our lives.ive been morbidly obese most of my life.im ready to change and live life better and longer.ginny in texas
