- Meeting my surgeon
Congrats on planning your journey. I leave Monday for Mexico; I am having surgery Tuesday. I have been on my pre-op diet of liquids and it is mind-over-matter. Best of luck to you!- Sitting in the hospital, had band put in this morning
:scales: Thanks for sharing Jim in MA, I am surprised you feel up to being on the web to make your post! I am having surgery next Tuesday and of course I am nervous. Your experience helps reassure me I am doing something wonderful for myself! Wishing you all the very best on your WL journey :scales:- March 2011 Bandsters
Wishing you a speedy recovery Meloveme. It is great that you have family support with you. My surgery is next week. I am also doing lots of reading. Try your best to get some shut-eye as you have a big day ahead of you tomorrow. Sweet Dreams! :sleep2:- Greeting All!! Newly banded March 02, 2011
Try sugar-free popsicles, ice chips. I heard hot Water helps also. I am to be banded on the 15th so I am not speaking from experience. Congrats to you!- March 2011 Banding, Is anyone out there?
:Banane19: Thanks, I will look forward to going after my surgery, March 15th. I will look for you!- The best shake Gadget
I have a Hamilton Beach single serve blender. Just mix and go, it has a travel lid. It is quiet and doesn't take up lots of room! The price is affordable, under $20 at Walmart.- March 2011 Bandsters
I was wondering the same thing. I gave up after trying to figure out how to post it! Hopefully someone can answer it for you.- March 2011 Banding, Is anyone out there?
Thanks Doddie! Perhaps you can share more information about the support group at LGH what is the time and room number?- March 2011 Banding, Is anyone out there?
Ok, I have cruised this site for a little while. I haven't really had much interaction with people who are local to Vancouver lower mainland. I am less than 2 weeks away from my surgery date. I am travelling to Puerto Vallarta Mexico - alone! I am feeling a little vulnerable now. I am plugging along with my pre-op diet and attending my "bootcamp" workouts 3x/week. I would love to interact with others and add some people to my friends list. Anyone out there?:bigear:- I Just Wanted To Introduce Myself
I am glad to hear you got over the shyness and signed up. We are all in the same boat and can pull each other through the tough times. Thanks for sharing. I am having surgery in 11 days. Hope your journey helps to inspire others.- Getting back to cabbage meals!
Make sure you have "Beano" tablets to aid with gas reduction.- Self Pay Loan Options
I know how stressful it can be when arranging payment. I am doing self-pay and got a personal loan from my credit union. I opted to do my payments over 3 years so I don't make myself too tight financially. I do plan on paying it back sooner. This option was a smarter choice over carrying a credit card balance. Congrats on your arrangement. I know it is difficult to decide to have surgery, nevermind deciding on how to make it a reality. Best of luck!- Liquids Question
I have to agree with Honk, the Premier drinks from Costco are convenient and tasty. I alternate with another shake I mix at home with skim milk.- March 2011 Bandsters
How are you doing with your pre-op diet? I don't mind the shakes, I can pass on the broth though-yuck. My diet is shakes, yogourt, skim milk, clear apple/cranberry juice. I will be thinking of you, my surgery is on the 15th.- preop cold!
More than anything you are stressed. This is a very important, stressful time in our lives. Make sure you get enough sleep, and drink your water. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!- Counting down the days
:Dancing_sorry: Well today is day 3 of my pre-op diet. Each day seems to get better. The first day was really rough! I discovered how important it is to continually drink fluids and water! I discovered I don't care for broth! I am drinking Premier Protein Shakes from Costco and they are actually a geat find. I also like The Fibre 35 Diet Fit Smart Shake - Chocolate Creme (Purchased at Alive Health Centre). I gather by the time my surgery date of March 15th arrives, I should have dropped a few decent pounds. I am trying to think positively about my surgery; I suppose I am worried about the few weeks afterwards during healing. I am not liking the broth! Ewh, Yuck!:frown:- Banded 3/2/11
\I find it interesting that you are not hungry. I wonder if that is very common for most? I have my surgery on the 15th of March. Best wishes to you during your healing time!- banders in British Columbia
I heard Dr. Leung lacks "bed-side manner". Hopefully Dr. A is a better match for you! Best of luck!- March 2011 Bandsters
I can relate to the soup thing. I am day 2 pre-op diet and find the chicken broth smelly! Maybe because I got organic? Only a few more sleeps for you and then the big day! My day is March 15th. Best of luck Meloveme!- March 2011 Bandsters
I have never heard of single incision, please share more info. I thought it is generally 5-6 incisons.- Sugery scheduled for March - anyone else?
I am having surgery March 15th. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow! I am excited and nervous. I had celebrated tonight with diet coke after my evening workout. Best of luck to you on your up-coming surgery!- banders in British Columbia
