  1. I had a hard time sticking to phase 3 and once i started having the sugar and carbs again I put it back on before the lapband, with the lapband i can't and don't eat what I used to.
  2. Yes and it works but it's hard to stick to the low cal, low fat diet with the band, I always have a problem with chicken getting stuck, We as a family decided to do Paleo instead.
  3. Cut out the carbs and sugar. Adkins has always worked for me and now we are going Paleo.
  4. I had my fill in the morning and my dr said I to take it slow but I should be ok to eat solids by lunch.
  5. I dont count calories, just make better choices and I know I'm eating a lot less than I used to. Sounds like u need a fill.
  6. The lab band shouldnt effect your breastfeeding at all. Did u get your band loosened when you got pregnant? If u did I would make sure to get a fill and find that sweetspot again. Just make sure they you continue to take your prenatals and eat a good diet.
  7. I dont count the carbs in fruit and veggies, just cut out the sugar and bread.
  8. I gained weight to get my insurance to approve my surgery, started on Surgery day at 241 and am taking it day by day. I've lost it all before and gained it back, more times than I count. I was ready to make a change for the better, take it off and keep it off.
  9. I would say to plan on staying in friend status, you'll be more of a catch if you keep the same attitude and personality as you loose the weight.
  10. Congratz girl, you've did a great job and have much more willpower than I have. =)
  11. Dont worry about what he thinks, just do what you need to do to get back on track. He's there to support you.
  12. I take the peals off bananas and freeze them, then use them in my smoothies. Tonight I did a chocolate and peanut butter protein powder, half a frozen banana, flax seeds, plain kefir, some spinach and a half scope of chocolate super food.
  13. Im down 30 lbs today. Would have been more but I over indulged in too much cake and ice cream for my sons birthday. I believe that those with the big numbers are counting their pre-op diet right? I've also noticed that some drs require a few days of liquids after fills, which makes the weight drop quicker.
  14. In my dr's instruction he said that for some reason those that have a daily glass of wine loose more. I would make sure that you're eating enough and getting enough protein.
  15. Are you still taking your vitamins? I've had leg cramps in the past and was told that it's usually Potassium.
  16. I would just tell her, good luck on keeping it off. I've lost 50 lbs before and just put it right back on.
  17. I choose the band over bypass because it is a much safer method, my Dr did bypass in the past but has since stopped because of the high chance of complications. People die from bypass. I couldn't make the decision to never be able to have the foods I love again. With the band, yes you may have loose skin, but not nearly as drastic as with bypass because you dont loose the weight as fast. With the band I've heard it's 80% willpower and 20% the band, so it still takes a lot of work.
  18. I have about 5 pairs that need to be donated soon, have 2 pairs that currently fit and then I need to find that box of 16s that I packed away in my closet. It's crazy that I have 6 pairs of size 18 and 16W that all fit differently. One is way too lose and one is still too tight. Don't ever plan on being that size again so they are definitely going bye bye. I joined the thredup website that is primarily for baby/kids clothes but threded several pairs a few weeks ago, cheaper to exchange them than to buy new ones.
  19. It sounds like he put in too much. My doctor had me take a drink right after he did the fill, it didn't go down so he took out a half CC.
  20. I wanted to take two weeks, the Dr's office said they usually only give a week and then only approved 3 days because they didn't want to provide any additional paperwork to my work. I took the rest of the week off unpaid.
  21. Still drinking low carb slimfast and Atkins shakes. Costco has turkey burgers and sams club has salmon burgers that are tasty and easy. I still eat chicken and steak, but always tender and moist.
  22. Sounds like you need a fill, but like everyone else said you have to watch your calories and what you put in your mouth, the band won't stop you, only you can.
  23. Yep you're going to be hungry until you can start eating real food again and get an adjustment. I couldnt find my port either, think it's normal not to be able to feel it.
  24. Congratz on the weight loss, you have done amazing. Please don't stress about what he will think, he's going to love you and think you are beautiful. No matter what we look like I think we will always see our flaws and not like ourselves. I've had those homecomings where I've lost weight and gained weight and it's always just good to be reunited again. I've had that fight with my husband and food myself, cause what I eat around him and what I eat when I'm by myself is completely different, just have to make good choices and eat less of the bad stuff. If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you and what is your goal weight? I would love to be 160 as that is my skinniest weight, and that's my goal for now, guess we will see if it changes later. Any tips for the newbie? What has worked for you?
  25. Congratz! What a great way to start your new life.
