  1. My husband and I spent the night at a hotel close to the hospital as well. My surgery was scheduled for 8:00 A.m. And I had yo be there by 6:00 A.M. I was released the same day of surgery at 7:30 in the evening. I thought I was going to spend the night but I done so well they decided to send me home. We spent a second night at the hotel just in case I might need to go back to the hospital. I did not need yo and all was fine. Good luck with your surgery tomorrow.
  2. I am being banded in just a few hours. I tossed and turned of the night, did not sleep very much last night. I am ready to get this done and go on with the rest of my new thinner life.

  4. Congradulations! I am going to be banded on Monday. I have lost 12 lbs. On my pre op diet. I am also very excited and not to nervous. I went to the grocery this evening and picked up a few things like vitamins, soup, protien drinks & etc.. For when I come home on Tuesday. Good luck with your band!
  5. Please go to the emergency room something is not right. Don't wait,
  6. I am going to have a vanilla protein drink and I add about 1/2 tsp. Of banana extract to it alond with a pack or two of splendid. It is really good, You can substitute the banana extract for vanilla, orange, maple, chocolate, almond, etc.....I also add crushed ice sometimes and it taste like a thick creamy shake. Let me know if you like it.
  7. Lap band surgery date of 2/21/2011 Dr Evanston is my doctor. I am getting excited. Are there any others who have had surgery at the Carmel Hospital?

  9. I am going to be banded February 21st. I am really excited and a little nervous at the same time. I have been on a high protein and low carb diet to get ready for the surgery. I have lost about 9 lbs this past week and I am so ready to get rid of this excess weight. I look forward to talking with you and sharing your weight loss journey as well. Delma I I am going to have my lap band surgery at the Carmel Bariatric Hospital in Indianapolis.
  10. Once my insurance company approved my surgery I still waited about three weeks to get set up for the pre testing and surgery date. I also did not get my phone calls returned in a timely manner.The waiting is the hardest! I had to complete 6 months of dieting with a dietitian before BCBS would approve my surgery. And I just want to get the ball rolling.
  11. Thank you so much. I just completed my pre op testing and that upper GI was really nasty. I have a hard time drinking that thick I just did not want to do this again.

  14. Melainie, just keep in mind what you have been working for for the last 10 months. I will get my band in 2 weeks and I am nervous as well. I have asked those same questions. The only thing that I know for sure is that I do not want to be fat ant longer. I have battled with being overweight for most of my adult life. I am taking control finally. Just remember the reasons you wanted to get the lap band in the first place. Good luck tomorrow and let me know how you do. Delma
  15. Does any one know if an upper GI is given after the lap band surgery.
  16. I have a surgery date of 2/21/2011 and I am a little anxious and excited at the same time. I just finished my pre op testing and next week I will attend the pre op nutrition class. I am so ready!
