  1. Welcome Rondajs!!!! I have been banded for about a month, and it's the best decision I could have ever made. I hope that this site provides you with as much support as it has offered me.
  2. Welcome, and congratulations on the first step to your new life!!!
  3. Welcome!!! I hope you find all the answers to all your questions.. Good look on your journey!!!
  4. Welcome!!!!! I hope your consult will go well!!!
  5. How cute!!!!
  6. A fruit salad sounds really good. We have another party on Friday, I'll make sure I bring so alternative dessert. Great Idea!!!
  7. Today was my companies March Birthday party.... I'm still in the soft/mushie phrase, and for what I've read cake is not on the list. So I'm standing there feeling awkward, as everyone around me to talking about how good the cake is. Then my boss notices I'm not eating, and decides to annouce his findings to everyone, like I'm a art exhibit. I've managed to stay on my plan, but it was really hard to stand my ground when everyone is looking at you, expecting you to eat. My excuse, while true, was that I didn't want to ruin my appetite because I hadn't eaten lunch yet. Lord, that cake looked good. Any advice for future situations???
  8. I am currently on my second week of soft/mushie food. Nothing really, that requires really chewing. I'm beginning to become addicted to fish. I has so much protein, I just really wouldn't have thought it have.
  9. I feel great...I really don't notice it. My grandparents and boyfriend claim they can see the difference in my face and neck...I'll take it!!!
  10. I will be in prayer for you throughout this recovery time. I will be waiting in great expecation of what God will do for you, and through you. Please stand in firm assurance, that we serve a great and mighty God. Trust and know that if He brought you to it, He'll bring you through it. May God be with you now and forever more, may He grant you peace and joy all the days of your life...
  11. Welcome Mary.. I was banded on Feb. 13th. This site has provided me with a wide vary of knowledge, encouragement, and support. I hope that you will have the same experiences. Good Luck on this journey!!
  12. Hey Deb.. I was banded on Feb. 13th. Since the beginning of this journey I've lost almost 25 pounds. This decision is not easy. But I had to make myself a priority, and make getting better a priority. You can do it.... Just always remember to Trust in the Lord..He will provide strength even when we don't feel like we can do it. Ashley
  13. I was banded on Feb. 13th. Before the surgery I was not one for seafood. In fact I couldn't stand the smell of it. Well, it's amazing how quickly things change when that all you can eat. Per my surgeons orders, during the two weeks of soft/mushies I could eat tuna, baked fish, mashed potatoes, i.e. Something that I've loved to cook: Baked Tilipia with green and red peppers. Garlic Mashed Potatoes Gordons Blacken Catfish ( The best) Sauted Shrimp with baked french fries.. Every day for lunch I have about 6oz of tuna, with a small amount of fat-free mayo and 10 crackers... Oh yeah, for a breakfast snack..Try fat-free strawberry cream cheese and crackers. Amazing and healthy... I've been between 750-800 calories and 50-70 grams of protein. Unfortunately, I've gained a couple pounds since I've been back to eating food. My doctor said that this is normal, but I'm not happy. Is anyone else gaining weight?
  14. I was banded on the 13th. I've been eating about the same thing.. However my doctor allows crackers and fat free cream cheese. If you can try some cream cheese on crakers makes a great snack.
  15. Normally, I consider myself a rebel...but when it comes to my health I try to stick with the rules. After all, my doctor knows more about what's going on with me than I do at this point. My doctor recommened to write things down during the soft food phase.
  16. Thank you so much!!!!!! I am past cloud 9, I'm about on cloud 20!!!! No, I actually didn't drink any Protein drinks my doctor actually doesn't recommend them, and told us to get protein from the food we could eat. My doctor recommended these high protein low sugar yogurts, called Blue Bunny,or Carb Control. I couldn't find them in any of the local stores. It was quite frustrating but they say the third times is a charm!!! I'll let you know how they taste, I'm going to have a yogurt and a banana!!!
