  1. Congrats! Best wishes for a speedy recovery and a restful night.
  2. Congratulations on your surgery approval and your surgery date. I am 6 days post op. When you check in for surgery they will take you back to change into a gown. They will hook you up to a heart monitor, pulse ox, and bloodpressure and start your IV. I also had to give a urine sample. They gave me versed to calm me down and also a heparin shot to keep blood clots from forming. They wheeled me to the OR and had me scoot over to the operating table. At that time they gave me some more meds in my IV and placed oxygen mask over my mouth and nose, and with a few deep breaths that is the last thing I remember until I woke up in recovery. I normally get sick from anesthesia so I was nauseous. More meds and I slept on and off until I was taken to my room. I had to stay overnight because I have sleep apnea. I got up later that day to use the bathroom and sit up. I began walking the halls the next day and went home. Just remember to keep walking. It helps. Best wishes.
  3. Hi Jenn. I am 33 yrs old. Have a 4 yr old little boy. Just banded on 3/18/11. Would love to be friends with others in the same boat! Best wishes.
  4. I am right there with you. I was banded 3/18/11 , just four days ago. I am not physically hungry, just mentally hungry if that makes sense. Didn't realize how much food consumed my day until I am only allowed liquids and only drinking about an ounce at a time. Best wishes and I know we can do this!
  5. Hello. I just wanted to offer some encouragement. I was 497 when I began the lap band process. I was 454 on my surgery day (3-18-11). It is possible and we can do it. Best wishes on your weight loss journey. I too have a wonderful supportive husband and can't wait to really live life with him and my little boy.

  7. I too am scheduled for surgery on 3/18/11. I have heard so many people talk about how this surgery has changed their life, and the only thing they would of changed was to have their surgery sooner. We can do this. I believe this is a tool that is going to get us to a healthier body.
  8. I can totally relate to the nervous part about doing something permanent. I am scheduled for my lap band on 3-18-11. Best wishes.
  9. I am scheduled for March 18, 2011. I started my pre-op liquid diet today. 800 calories. Best wishes.
