  1. :omg: I hope I don't look like I am in a Miss America contest ! (ehem there are us men here also) Jersey Shore here! Exit 98 baby !
  2. :funnypost: This all depends what you are doing while looking at there pics lol l:peep:
  3. 1/2 cup of egg whites 60 cals. Some green pepper chopped and a slice of fake cheese which is only 25 cals. Sometimes I add 2 or 3 slices of turkey bacon. If I don't have that its a yogurt.
  4. Bro I know how you feel. Like marjon9 said its called bandster hell ! I myself am doing it all on my own also. I have no restriction at all and can eat just about anything. I am just watching my intake and walking my bum off literally. I had a fill of 2cc last week, but it did absolutely nothing so am going on Friday again for another. Don't worry man we are all here for you ! Do what I do and suck on a sugar free ice pop lol.
  5. I have also looked into this and the information I have found is that is you have gastric bypass its a definite no. Now the information I have found is that with the band is that you have to get it removed and wait a year to join. Now don't quote me on this because I am not positive. I have asked in the GOArmy.com chat with the recruiters and they all just spew out some policy that only pertains to bypass. I would think with the war going on they are giving lots of waivers these days. If you do find out please get back with me because that has always been a dream of mine also. I guess thats why I am going to Iraq as a contractor when I get down to 250 as a firefighter.
  6. Its not just the men who use weight as a safety net. My GF is only a 110 lbs and she is very insecure about me loosing the weight for the same reasons. We are definitely a funny looking couple size wise. I keep telling her not to worry we have been together over 3 years and she has been with me through THICK and soon THIN ! :biggrin1:
  7. OK I take back some of what I said LOL Sounds like they are arrogant ******(insert a few 4 letter words there lol) Either way you need to stand up and be proud of your decision ! :clap2:
  8. I think it was almost wrong what you did to your husband also. You asked him to lie. This is his father you asked him to lie to. Sorry you feel bad but put yourself in his shoes also. I never understand why people are afraid to tell people. I could care less. The truth is I am fat and need to lose it. I saw this as a safe option to help me. If someone doesn't care for my decision I tell them to go pound salt lol. Simple enough I think. Maybe you should give your FIL the benefit of the doubt. He obviously is concerned or he would not be asking about your health. I think people forget that not everyone is as educated on WLS as people who need it and they just assume they know. You should open up and educate him.
  9. Sounds to me like your parents just have a lack of knowledge when it comes to lap band. Mine were the same way. They think they knew but just didn't. The only thing is they have been pretty supportive of me. Try and educate them a bit more on the subject if you can. But honestly its your decision and not theres.
  10. Way to go man ! Good luck with the surgery and hope all go's well for you. I know how you feel about being in the 200's, its been over 6 years for me and when i look at the scale and see how close I am getting it gets me even more motivated to do it ! Congrats on your 40 mile goal also ! I don't keep track of my mileage and probably should do so. I am doing between 2 - 3 miles a day unless mother nature screws me with rain. So I am sure I am right up there with yah bro ! Any way jump back in after surgery and keep us updated !
  11. Quick question does anyone else keep a chart like this ? If not what do you use. I do mine in Excel.
  12. ummmm stacy you do realize you are posting in a just for guys thread don't yah ?
  13. Woohooo ! Congrats NJWhitetail ! :clap2: Welcome to band land !
  14. This is all I have to say about the Cowboys LOL  GO GIANTS ! :clap2:
  15. Have not had anything carbonated in 6 years so had not affected me any way at all. Just drop them because they are generally bad anyhow.
  16. Hey guys just checking in ! Been doing pretty good so far with the weight loss. I had my 1st fill the other day of 2 cc's and will say its definitely not enough so going to call to get another fill sooner. Well hope everyone is loosing well ! Chris
  17. Got my first fill today ! It wasn't a thing don't worry. I couldn't even feel it. They put 2cc's in. I hope it gives me some restriction.
  18. Hello ! I went to Dr. Washington in Freehold at Centra State Hospital. He has been pretty good so far. I go for my first fill on Tuesday so I will have to see how that works.
  19. Were you reading my mind ? LOL
  20. I believe this is what people are talking about. Here is 5lbs of fat compared to 5LBs of Muscle.
  21. My Doctor was the same way. He pushed for me to get the bypass also. My answer to him was it took me 30 years to put it on and if it takes a few months longer to take of then its fine by me ! My BMI was around 56 when I started this and now its 48 and I only started the journey 4/27. Its coming off pretty good so far. Its ultimately your decision but the advice given so far has been pretty spot on. Good luck either way you choose.
  22. :clap2: Way to go ! Have fun at Fenway ,its just a shame there going to lose! :heh: I go for my first fill this Friday and I can't wait ! Hoping progress picks up even more ! Its funny I started walking every day over 2 miles a few weeks ago and it seems the weight slowed down :paranoid. I hope this fill kicks it in !
  23. * Not getting the job because my BMI was to high * getting all the way to 235 and gaining it all back and some * wanting to do activities like sky diving * want to do more for my GF in the sack :biggrin1:
  24. Good Luck ! It will be here before you know it !:clap2:
