  1. You have a good attitude. You will be successful with the lapband I just know it. Stay strong. Keep posting. Take care and good luck!
  2. Congratulations you did it! Hope you are feeling better each day. The first wk. was rough for me. But then it gets easier. The pain becomes much less. Just try to keep walking if you can. It really does help. I know what you mean about trying to eat and get everything in that you are supposed to. It just seems impossible sometimes. And the vitamins. And all that water. Seems like there is not enought hrs. in the day to do all this huh? ha ha. Good luck on your journey. Keep posting. Take care.
  3. I understand your fears. I had them too and probably many others on this forum had them as well. But you work through these fears and conquer them one by one. They don't conquer you! It gets easier especially reading others blogs and realizing how successful they have been on the lapband journey. So keep your chin up and do your best. Keep us posted on your progress. Good luck to you!
  4. Good for you! That is wonderful! I bet it is a great feeling huh? Keep up the good work. You are a great inspiration to the rest of us.

Wow that is great that you can walk like that. Such an inspiration. I have fibromyalgia and it is difficult for me to walk. I used to love to walk all the time. But I am hoping when more wt. comes off - I will improve. Good luck to you on your journey and keep up that walking. That is wonderful! Congratulations to you!
  6. Wow sounds like you have had it rough. Hang in there though - brighter days ahead. I thought I had it bad with the post op gas pains in shoulders, chest and neck. But I don't think it was as bad as what you describe. I felt better after about a full wk. I am 1 month post op now and go for my first "fill" today. I am scared about that too. I sure hope you start feeling better now that you are in the healing process. Take care and good luck on your journey. Keep posting.
  7. WELL TODAY IS VALENTINE'S DAY - AND THAT MEANS CHOCOLATES FOR SOME OF US! I HAD SOME LAST EVENING AND I HAVE TO ADMIT - I THOUGHT I DIED AND WENT TO HEAVEN! HOWEVER, AFTERWARDS I FELT LIKE I COMITTED A MORTAL SIN! SUCH GUILT!!! I ALSO WENT OUT TO A RESTRAUNT LAST NIGHT FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE BEING BANDED ON 1/17. IT WENT BETTER THAN I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT. I ORDERED WHAT I WANTED BUT ONLY ATE SMALL PORTIONS OF EVERYTHING. I ORDERED STUFFED CHICKEN BREAST AND MASHED POTATOES WITH GRAVY AND SALAD AND I EVEN HAD A BIT OF HOMEMADE BREAD. I ALSO HAD A SMALL SCOOP OF RAINBOW ICECREAM FOR DESSERT! I ONLY HAD A BIT OF EVERYTHING AND GAVE THE REST TO MY HUSBAND. EVERYTHING WENT DOWN WELL AND NOTHING GOT STUCK! IT TASTED SO GOOD! THE ONLY BAD PART IS - TUESDAY IS WEIGH IN DAY AT THE DR. I GUESS I HAD BETTER START WORKING OUT AND TRY TO WORK OFF ALL THAT DELICIOUS FOOD AND CHOCOLATES!!!! "HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO YOU ALL!" XXXOOO
  8. WELL HERE IT IS TODAY IS VALENTINES DAY! THAT MEANS CHOCOLATES FOR SOME OF US. DO WE REFRAIN OR ACCEPT? WELL I HAVE TO ADMIT - I ACCEPTED. AND OH BOY DID IT GO DOWN GOOD. WHAT A SHAME! IT TASTED SO GOOD - I ALMOST FELT LIKE I COMITTED A MORTAL SIN! I ALSO ATE MY FIRST MEAL AT A RESTAURANT LAST EVENING FOR THE OCCASION. IT WENT BETTER THAN EXPECTED. I ONLY ATE A SMALL PORTION AND GAVE THE REST TO MY HUSBAND. BUT I ORDERED WHAT I WANTED AND HAD NO PROBLEMS AT ALL WITH IT GETTING STUCK. I HAD STUFFED CHICKEN BREAST AND MASHED POTATOES WITH GRAVY AND A SALAD AND EVEN A BIT OF HOMEMADE BREAD. IT TASTED SO GOOD - I FELT I COULD HAVE EATEN MORE OF IT - BUT I LIMITED MYSELF AND ONLY ATE A SMALL PORTION OF MY MEAL. I ALSO HAD SOME RAINBOW ICECREAM FOR DESSERT. JUST A SMALL SCOOP. FIRST TIME I HAD ICECREAM IN A LONG TIME. IT TASTED SOOOO GOOD! SO THERE YOU HAVE IT - I SURVIVED "VALENTINES DAY WITHOUT A HITCH!" BAD PART IS - TUESDAY IS WEIGH IN DAY AT THE DR. - HA HA. - I BETTER START WORKING OUT BIG TIME!!!!
  9. HI EVERYONE! I JUST GOT BANDED 1/17 OF THIS YEAR. LOST TOTAL OF 30 LBS. SO FAR. GO FOR MY FIRST FILL ON TUESDAY. I DON'T FEEL LIKE I HAVE ANY RESTRICTION. I CAN EAT MOST ANYTHING. I ALSO GET HUNGRY 1 - 2 HRS. BEFORE NEXT MEALTIME. IT IS ALMOST LIKE DIETING STILL. DIDN'T THINK IT WOULD STILL BE THIS HARD? I AM DEF SCARED ABOUT GETTING MY FIRST FILL. WAS WONDERING WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE? I HAVE BEEN EXERCISING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AS I HAVE FIBROMYALGIA AND HYPOTHYROIDISM AS WELL. I FIND IT HARD TRYING TO GET IN ALL THE LIQUIDS I AM SUPPOSED TO BE DRINKING WHEN YOU HAVE TO WAIT 1 HR. AFTER MEALS AND 1/2 HR BEFORE MEALS TO DRINK. THIS MAKES IT HARD. BUT IT SURE IS NICE BEING 30 LBS. LIGHTER. JUST WISH THE WT. LOSS WOULD BE FASTER. TAKE CARE ALL.
  10. GOOD LUCK TO YOU TOMORRROW WITH YOUR SURGERY. YOU WILL DO FINE. IT IS NOT BAD AT ALL. I FELT THE 2 WK. PRE OP liquid Protein shakes WAS HARDER. I WAS BANDED 1/17 AND LOST 30 LBS. SO FAR. KEEP US POSTED ON YOUR PROGRESS.
  11. HI THERE! SOUNDS LIKE YOU'RE DOING FANTASTIC! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. I WAS BANDED 1/17 AND LOST 30 LBS. SO FAR. GO FOR MY FIRST "FILL" ON TUESDAY.
  12. Hi there! I go in for my first fill on Tuesday. I was banded jan. 17. I am scared as well. I really don't know where my port is either. I can't stand to feel around for it. Gross! I am getting discouraged though because I don't feel like I'm losing any more wt. I lost total of 30 lbs. I need to lose much more. I feel like I can eat anything right now with no restriction. It is hard. Feels like I have to diet all the time. Hope it will be better after my first fill. Let me know how yours went. Take care.
  13. Congratulations to you for choosing the Lapband! And good luck on your journey. Keep us posted. You can do this. You will find many friends on this forum who are willing and kind enough to share thoughts, experience and info along the way. Just ask. You are not alone. We are all in this together with the same goal. Stay focused and positive. Take care.
  14. WELL I FINALLY DID IT TODAY! I ACTUALLY STARTED EXERCISING. I AM 57 AND LET ME TELL YOU - THIS WAS NOT EASY! LOL - ALL I CAN SAY IS - OUCH, OUCH AND OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT IT SURE FELT GOOD KNOWING THAT I DID IT! DIDN'T REALIZE HOW OUT OF SHAPE I WAS. HA HA. NOW IF I CAN JUST KEEP THIS UP EVERY DAY - I AN SURE IT HAS TO GET EASIER.
  15. HI YA ALL! - I AM 3 WKS. POST OP AND WAITING FOR MY FIRST "FILL". I FIND THAT I CAN EAT PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING I WANT. I AM HUNGRY EVEN 2 HRS. AFTER EATING. I HAVE BEEN EATING MORE THAN THE 3/4 CUP AT MEALTIME TOO. I AM SCHEDULED FOR A DR. APPT. NEXT WK. AND THEN HOPEFULLY A "FILL". I AM AFRAID I MAY NOT HAVE LOST ANY WT. THIS PAST WK. I DON'T FEEL LIKE I DID ANYWAY. I HAVE HAD FOOD GET STUCK AND PRETTY MUCH JUST WAITED AND SUFFERED IT OUT. DID I LEARN MY LESSON - THE ANSWER IS "NO". SOMETIMES I FIND MYSELF EATING TOO QUICKLY OR NOT CHEWING GOOD ENOUGH. I AM USUALLY STARVING THAT IS WHY. I DEF NEED SOME RESTRICTION IN MY BAND. I LOST 4 LBS. 1 WK.. AGO AT MY DR. VISIT. - TOTAL WT. LOSS IS 30 LBS. BUT THAT ISN'T MUCH WHEN YOU NEED TO LOSE AT LEAST 100 LBS. I WAS JUST BANDED JAN. 17 OF THIS YEAR THOUGH. I AM GETTING A BIT TOO ANXIOUS TO LOSE THE WT. FASTER. I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT I CANNOT GET OUTSIDE TO WALK TO GET EXERCISE. I DO HAVE FIBROMYALGIA WHICH RESTRICTS ME FROM BEING ABLE TO EXERCISE MUCH TO BEGIN WITH - AS THE PAIN IS UNBEARABLE EVEN IF I DO A LIL WALKING AROUND WALMART SHOPPING. BUT I GOT TO GET MOVING. I AM GETTING A LIL DISCOURAGED. IT IS JUST SO DARN BORING TRYING TO DO SOME EXERCISE INSIDE THE HOUSE. BUT I WILL NONE THE LESS. I CAN'T GIVE IN TO BOREDOM OR DEPRESSION. BUT GEE WHIZ I SURE HOPE SPRING GETS HERE SOON - SO I CAN GET OUTSIDE AND GET SOME SERIOUS EXERCISE AND START TO FEEL A LIL BETTER ABOUTR MYSELF. ONE THING I MUST SAY IS THAT WITH THE LIMIT ON WHAT I CAN EAT NOW AND THE TINY PORTIONS ALLOWED - IT SEEMS THAT EVERYTHING I EAT IS SOOOOO DELICIOUS. THE FLAVORS OF EVERYTHING JUST POUR OUT. ANYONE ELSE FEEL THIS? THIS IS A GREAT FORUM FOR VENTING. THANKS FOR READING AND LISTENING TO ME RANT ON AND ON. XXXOOO
  16. Wow - thanks for sharing so many wonderful recipes. I can't wait to try em! They sound fantastic.
  17. Boy I hear ya! I totally blew it yesterday watching the superbowl game. I partook of all the goodies. I had absolutely no restriction or feeling of fullness so I kept eating. I took advantage of the situation and I didn't even have anything to drink to make the food wash down. Sot this is def a big concern for me today as I think about it, though it sure wasn't a cocern at the superbowl party. Now I am certainly looking forward to getting my first "adjustment" next week. Geez! I will never lose wt. at this rate! But you're right - it was tough gettin through the "Superbowl". But hey - it's back on track this am for me!!!!!
  18. Wow this was beautiful! You are such an inspiration. Congratulations to you and now I know that I too can do this! Thank you for sharing.

Wow what a sad story! You have so much going on in your life. I can't even imagine how you handle all that stress. I do know that stress can definitely affect your body though. Hang in there and you will start losing again. Just be patient. I sure hope your husband gets well soon and I will say a prayer for him. Very nice pic you posted. Please keep us posted on your progress and how your husband is doing. Take care.
  20. Hi there! I have been wondering about how your surgery went. Nice to hear from you on here. Glad things are going ok for you now. Sorry to hear you had some complications. Well at least now hopefully the worst is over and it will all be downhill from here. Good luck with your wt. loss and keep us posted. Take care.
  21. Well said Indigo girl - You really put it out there! And it is all sooooo true! Thanks for your words of wisdom!!!!!
  22. Congrats to you! I am also 2 wk post op. I lost total of 30 lbs. Can you share your two recipes with me? I would greatly appreciate it. I am struggling with what to make and eat that will satisfy. Thank you kindly. Good luck and keep posting.
  23. Wow you said it all pretty much! I agree with everything @ finallyincontrol, but to you - justplaintired - I understand what you are feeling. I went through the same feelings and thoughts myself not that long ago. I almost canceled out the night before surgery. But I didn't and I am glad. I already lost 30 lbs. and I am only 2 wks. post op. Everything will work itself out. You will figure it all out as you go along. Trust me. It will all make sense to you eventually. Trial and error. But with the lapband as your tool - you have no choice but to lose the wt. if you obey the rules. There is plenty food choices you can eat and enjoy. Just smaller portions. After a while, you don't seem to notice or mind. I find myself thinking less about food as I did before. The key is to keep busy. And exercise. Keep your mind occupied. Good luck and keep us posted. I will sure be thinking about you on the day of your surgery. Take care.
  24. Yeh for you! That's great! And what better way to exercise. Wow! Awesome!
