25 days post-op & I can eat anything - help!
I'm sorta finding myself in the same place. I had a dr. apt last week and I was hoping that I was going to get my first fill since I'm now finding that I get hungry. I was banded on 12/27/10. The dr. is proud of my progress so far and said that since I am still losing, he won't do the fill. So long as I'm losing 1 - 2 pounds per week..... he says I'm doing great! I just wish the process was a bit faster. He said that he will only do the fill when I've gone 3 weeks without losing any weight. I guess I understand his reasoning... but this is a little harder than I thought. I too am able to eat just about anything... and need some very strong will power to get through some days. But then................... I guess that's what this is all about.... learning new and healthy eating behavior. This is a life long journey.

a silly little NSV
While sitting at my desk this morning... I felt very uncomfortable ~ like my pants and panties were getting all tangled up. I was in such a rush this morning... I just got dressed fast and left for work. When I went to the ladies room, I realized my panties are WAY TOO big! Silly....but that felt GREAT... I need to go shopping for smaller panties tomorrow!!

BRA SIZE
I had a breast reduction in 2004. It was the BEST thing I ever did. I went from a 46DDD to a 38C. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get smaller than a 34C when I reach my goal weight. I'm only 5'2" .... so I'm happy being smaller. I think being too big at my height, can make me look dumpy. Anyway... I guess if I had to, I can always buy a bra with extra padding. Although I had my breast reduction years ago.... I would definitely wait until you reach your goal to get the reduction/lift.

First Fill
I was also banded on Dec. 27th and thought I was having my first fill yesterday. Well I found out that my insurance doesn't cover the fill until 90 days after surgery. (I'm only half way there). That scared me a little because now I'm feeling that I definitely could eat more. So far I've lost 30 pounds. My Dr. is VERY pleased with my results and told me NO fill ~ even if the insurance WAS going to cover it. He said I should keep up my "good" habits and continue doing what I'm doing. He said I should be losing between 1 - 2 pounds per week and if 3 weeks go by and I've not lost any weight, he'll then do the fill. Right now I'm eating between 800 - 1,000 calories a day (very LOW carbs) and I'm on the treadmill at least 4 times per week. Dr. said that I should continue to see results keeping up this routine. .... and it's a new behavioral pattern I'm developing and to keep up the good work. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm I felt really happy and proud leaving his office...but I am a little nervous that I'll blow it by eating more than I should.

Insurance delay for my first fill
Spoke with my Dr.'s office today to confirm my apt for tomorrow. I was banded on 12/27. They advised me that I have to wait 90 days from the date of my surgery to get my first fill for the insurance to cover the cost. WOW... wasn't really expecting that! I'm only 45 days out.... and will have to go another 45 before I can consider the fill. Anyone have this situation? I'm already starting to feel hungry... so I'm going to have to be VERY careful for a month and a half. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ~ I'm a bit scared I'll fail.

women how many calories are you taking in a day ?
I'm doing about 800 - 1,000 calories per day. However, I'm starting to notice that I could probably do a LOT more. I'm scheduled for my first fill this Saturday. Also, I'm trying to get in about 30 - 40 minutes on the treadmill 3 -4 times per week. I'm gonna try to get more exercise in this coming week.

Really...Seriously...Come On!

Ready for my first fill a little nervous!
I've been noticing that I have an appetite in the evenings.... and this past week I haven't lost any weight. I'm schedule to see my Dr. on 2/12. I think I'm ready for my first fill. It really surprises me though.... I'm now only eating about 800 to 1,000 calories a day... yet I still don't lose weight??? I've started walking about 3 - 4 times a week. I wonder if I'm building muscle and that is out weighing my fat loss ... ?? I hope the needle doesn't hurt when I get the fill... I've seen other post info about fills and they all seems to say that it doesn't hurt.....but I'm still nervous!!

when did your appetite come back?
I'm 4 weeks out... and now I'm starting to feel hungry. I do pretty good during the day...but at dinner, I'm really starting to notice I'm able to eat more than I expected. I haven't had a fill yet... I suppose feeling hungry is a sign it's probably time for that fill. I don't have an apt yet ... so maybe I should be calling my Dr. soon and check in with him.

NSV and it is only January!!
WOW... SOOOOOOOOO GREAT!!!! You're gonna have to go shopping for sure before the summer... cause those suites will be "swimming" on you then. I'm not that brave yet ~ not trying on my bathing suite for another couple of months.

4 weeks out ~ starting to get an appetite.
I'm 4 weeks out from my surgery (Dec. 27th). I noticed this weekend that I'm really starting to get an appetite. I was at a conference this weekend and wasn't allowed to bring in food. soooo looking for the most "mushie" food I could find, I found myself eating 3/4 of a tuna sandwich. I guess from reading everyone's posts here, I was surprised that I was able to eat the bread. I have lost only a few ounces this week . I was very spoiled by losing so much so fast.. now I seem to be slowing down. I also started doing some serious walking this last week. I don't know if I'm gaining muscle and it's out-weighing the fat loss, (or what)... ?? Does this mean I'm soon ready for a fill soon? I'm getting nervous that I'll hit a plateau. Other than my worrying about feeling hungry and not losing .... I'm feeling GREAT!!! How are you all doing/did at 4 weeks out???

The BIG secret!!
YEP!! I had surgery on Dec. 27th. It's only been 4 weeks and I feel AWESOME!! I had NO problems at all, except a little problem with an allergic reaction to the surgical tape. The Doc gave me an RX for the red sore skin. But all of that is healing nicely now. I'm starting to get my appetite back... maybe that need I'm soon ready for a fill....??
-
I just want to say....
AWESOME!!! Good for you!!!!

Are you open about being banded or
shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... this is my secret!!! The only one who knows is my very supportive hubby. However, people are now starting to wonder how I'm losing weight. I just tell them I working with my Dr. to get healthy. I've had some major thyroid problems in the past, and most people (including family) are happy to see that I finally found a Dr. who can actually help me get all my health issues under control. I agree it's a personal decision......and maybe when I reach my goal weight, I "might" share my secret. Right now, I'm just focusing on me and getting this weight off.

Banded Dec 28 - 1st NSV for me!
Awesome Awesome Awesome!!!! I can't wait to start getting into my skinner clothes too. I also was able to wear pants that have been sitting in my closet waiting for a few pounds to come off. Yeah!!!

Itchy red rash around incisions
I had an allergic reaction to the surgical tape. They used Tepaderm Surgical Tape. Now it's on my list of medical things I "can't" do. My surgery was on the 27th and uncovered the incisions about 5 days out. I saw my Dr. this past Saturday and he gave me an RX to help the healing process. Now, they are much better and they are finally starting to heal. Other than that.... I have had NO other problems. (Guess...there had to be something....) Do you still have your incisions covered?
-
for those that have lost ALOT of weight, what are you going to do about the extra skin?
I was only banded on 12/27...... so I have a long way to go and have no idea if I'm gong to consider plastic surgery. However, back in 2006, I had a breast reduction.... because their size caused health issues, it was covered by my insurance and my only out of pocket cost was the $500 deductible. I'm am SOOOOOOO HAPPY with the results...and that is one part of my body that I know is going to look great once I lose this weight. So ... those that are concerned about the "girls" should check it out with your insurance companies to see if they will cover a reduction.

down and out.........
I just started my journey... .so I haven't be at this long...... but just thought I'd try............. Maybe you should step up your exercise routine. Add an extra day ... or add some extra time to what you're doing now. I'm sure once you start re-focusing ... you'll get right back on track.
